Chapter 43 - How To Meet Your Idol

Alexander walked with his brother into the large edifice that housed their classrooms, and other important offices. He didn't like school and never for once took it seriously even though he was smart. He had dedicated most of his life to sorcery and helping his father. And this hindered him from furthering his education after high school. If he was being honest, he didn't regret it one bit.

He had made much more income and profit than any college student can dream of. And this was only from playing as his father's assistant, and carrying out his father's meager missions and tasks.

Wealth and respect were probably the only good things that came from being Jeffrey Bruce's son. And he now had enough to take care of himself and his brother.

As clan leader, his father made more money than many professional workers. Most of the money came from donations made from all blood sorcerers division from around the globe. It was a monthly donation. Jeffrey was an excellent leader, and the people loved him.

Alexander trailed behind Daniel, who lead the way to wherever it was the meeting was supposed to hold. He had already sworn that after this meeting, he was going to make his little brother pay. He didn't like this one bit, but he understood the gravity of their offense. And had absolutely no choice but to align himself with whatever that Daniel said. And now, he was going to become a puppet for this principal.

He continued the walk ignoring all the eyes that came their direction. Alexander was already aware of his brother's fame, and he could guess it was the core reason for all the attention. The second reason might be because they were shocked to see him with a sibling.

He had never stepped foot in this place before. And even though nobody knew him, the resemblance easily gave off that they were siblings. They walked without halt to the principal's office where they met the others already seated with their legal guardians and parents. Alexander could feel hostility in the atmosphere, but he really didn't care about that. What he wanted was for this meeting to end so he could return to his comfort zone.

Mr Bumble sat behind his desk curious and disappointed at the same time. He had expected to see Jeffery Bruce, but the man in front of him wasn't who he expected. Sure they looked alike in some ways, but still it was far from his expectations. He didn't know Jeffery had another son besides Daniel. And when he had said to invite their parents or guardian, he had expected to see Jeffery or a female figure. But luck and fate had decided to work against him.

He gestured for the two to take a seat. And when they had settled, Bumble began to address the issue which he already knew everyone present knew about.

Everyone had revolted saying that it wasn't their ward's fault since they were simply trying to defend themselves. Bumble knew this was true, but defense or no defense, they had broken the rule and had destroyed school property. He knew there was no way the parents were getting around the broken rule part, and that was his winning move.

This meeting was not going in ways Bumble had expected, but he had to make do with whatever he had. This was Jeffery's first son and he assumed they would be closer to each other. He could almost swear that he had seen the man somewhere before, but he didn't know where. It didn't matter, if he could befriend these boys, then his chances of meeting Jeffery would definitely increase.

Alexander noticed the glares and inaudible curses that were thrown at him from the other parents, and he ignored it. Invisible runes had been drawn all over the place to negate and nullify any magical related stuff.

Alexander understood that without the runes that negated magic, he and Daniel would probably be dead.

This was another reason he didn't like school, you had enemies everywhere, including people you didn't know a thing about. It was just sickening and disturbing at the same time.

He tried his best to ignore the others, but it seemed they were relentless in making him uncomfortable. He controlled himself from turning to them and slapping the hate off of them. The only reason he hadn't retaliated was because one of the hater's sat with one of Daniel's friends. And he didn't want to spoil their relationship with his actions here. He was a considerate person while it was obvious the other two weren't.

Daniel could also notice the hateful glares that he got occasionally, but he ignored them. He didn't blame the Hardwoods for hating them. But what he didn't understand was why someone that had attacked them months ago sat with Anna.

Daniel remembered the man from the alleyway. One of the six nature sorcerers that had attacked them and the only unlucky one. He had remembered Richard and Angus bringing him back home after defeating him. He decided to ignore the man and push his attention elsewhere.

He had also caught Anna staring and they weren't peaceful stares. Naturally, the three factions never went alongside each other, he could tell that these looks meant more than just hatred for the blood sorcerers. It was almost as if she wanted to do something to Alexander, and they weren't very good things.

Daniel was surprised, Anna didn't know about his brother, so hating on him was totally unnecessary. He decided to lie to himself and pin everything on his father. It wasn't news that other factions hated his father, and the hatred had definitely reached his children. He didn't know what Alexander and his father had done during his secretary days. But if Anna stared at him like that, it probably meant that Alexander had done something bad to her, or someone she cared for.

Richard tried to keep his mother focused on the principal by nudging her with his shoulder occasionally. However, the woman seemed more interested in the brothers than she was in the principal. She barely took her eyes off them, and Richard could tell she cursed them with everything she had in her.

He had tried to explain to them that the sons weren't like their father, but his family members just didn't listen. He understood that they had also been responsible for his aunt's death, but It wasn't really their fault. The lady had waged war and had lost and that completely justified their actions.

He didn't know what was going on inside his mother's head, but he sincerely hoped that she wasn't planning on doing anything stupid after this meeting.

Anna watched the man she used to be after sternly. And momentarily, the urge to capture and kill him had slipped into her head. She didn't know the reasons for such thoughts, but she had waved them off before they could grow into something more dangerous. Daniel had caught her watching his brother with her evil stare, and she knew the boy would definitely think of her as the enemy now. Daniel was completely unreadable at the moment and it taunted her.

She had knocked her uncle back from being stupid into reality. Anna knew the man too well, and could easily tell that he was already plotting something stupid in his head. And she already knew his plot would fail.

If he planned on attacking any of these people, then it was their funeral. She could tell that they were outmatched here. And trying to challenge any of these people could warrant death. Anna wasn't ready to die yet. She still a lot to accomplish.

Mr Bumble concluded his speech and handed to each of the guardians a booklet which contained every information they needed to know. Bumble knew that they wouldn't listen, so he had drafted the entire meeting beforehand.

He was inviting three wholly different clans into his office, there was no way they would get along. He had also successfully put up an anti magic spell around the place using runes If he hadn't done so, then a war would be going on right now in his office. The school was already suffering enough from repairing the collapsed building, and didn't want another one coming down too.

After his conclusion, Bumble dismissed them all. He could tell that they were already swearing death for each other, but he chose not to intervene. What they did with each other outside this place didn't concern him. His duty was to keep the school safe, and his dream to work for Jeffery

He had been disappointed with the meeting, but perhaps allowing these people to kill each other might actually work. If these two clans were to join against these brother's, they were sure to win, and Jeffery would have no chance but to show up to save his son's.

Then when Jeffery shows up, he would join forces witt him to put his sons enemies away. It was sure to fetch him some sort of recognition from his idol. It was a perfect plan. But the problem was, 'How does he fuel them to face the brothers?'
