I was reluctant to take it. But I know I have to. I already gave my consent to the agreement. They kind of have a control on how I conduct myself now. I cleared my throat and my head before I took the call.
“Miss Fuego.” - the lawyer answered.
“Atty. Sumayo. I’m in the office as we speak. I have work to do. What is this about?”
He chuckled first before answering.
“I got the good news. Mr. Sy just told me a while ago. Congratulations.”
The thing about taking and answering calls is that you don’t know whether the person on the other line meant what they said. The lack of tone, facial expression and hand movements contribute to the confusion.
“I don’t know what to say, Atty. But I thought of what you said. This is a huge step for my career.”
“See? You have the brains. He has the money. Together, you’ll be invincible. Believe me on this.”
