Chapter 13 - The Traitor Revealed

Seeing that everyone is going towards their home, Noah said "Just a minute I need to mention one more thing"

Everyone stopped and waited for Noah to continue.

"You guys know the gangsters were going to attack our villagers, but someone told them that villagers are coming into the villa after 2 days they stopped their action and waited for the villagers' arrival."

Everyone was shocked by this, One of the villagers asked "What are you trying to say, Noah"

"Simple there is one traitor among us who was giving our details to Gang" Noah said

With that everyone boiled and even started cursing Noah

"Finally Noah showed his true colors." Someone added.

Seeing the situation getting out of control High Priest came forward and clarified the situation in favor of Noah

Greg and others also came forward and told them that what Noah said is true.

"You know why our operations become so smooth and the gang was not active and able to kill them in there," Noah asked

Everyone becomes silent and thinks of what Noah said.

"Yes how can this be an easy operation" Someone mentioned

Without wasting any time Noah said, "Because They already got the info that we are going to attack in 5 days and so they become lenient in their patrolling and we got a chance to infiltrate the gang camp."

But we attacked in 3 days so they didn't do this and we win otherwise it would have been very difficult to win over the gang. As High Priest's intuition was also correct about having more numbers of gangsters and Boss even had a gun.

Greg showed them the Boss gun.

Noah's revelation sent shockwaves throughout the group. The idea that there was a traitor among them was almost too much to bear. But as the High Priest stepped forward to clarify the situation, it became clear that Noah was telling the truth.

Greg and the others confirmed that Noah's story was true and that the gang had become more complacent in their patrolling due to the false information they had received.

With all of this Villagers are also sure of what Noah said is true.

But the question remained: who was the traitor? All eyes turned to Noah, who had claimed to have gotten the information from the gang's boss.

They started seeing each other with skeptical eyes.

"So, do you have details of who is the traitor, Noah?" High Priest asked.

Everyone's attention was drawn toward Noah, and they waited anxiously to find out who the traitor was.

"We have the details from the boss gang," Noah said, confirming the group's worst fears.

There was a moment of stunned silence as everyone waited for Noah to reveal the identity of the traitor. Finally, the High Priest spoke up.

"Who is it, Noah? Tell us," he said.

Greg and the others became shocked. When did the boss tell them, and how did they forget to ask about this important detail?

Everyone looked towards Greg, and Greg, with his eyes, told them to just watch.

"It's better if that person comes forward on his own, otherwise once we know who that person was, we will not let him go," someone shouted.

But seeing no one coming forward, Noah took a deep breath and looked around at the group.

"I'm sorry to have to say this, but the traitor is..." he paused, looking each person in the eye. "It's Henry."

There was a collective gasp from the group as Henry stepped forward, looking shocked and bewildered.

"I swear I didn't do it!" he protested. "I would never betray my people."

"What would I get by doing this? After all, I am staying in this village. Don't listen to this boy. We've known each other for more than 10 years now. Don't you know me?" Henry said.

But the villagers were torn. They had lived together for the last 10 years and helped each other since World War 3. It was hard to believe that one of them could betray the others.

"I know that you guys don't believe me yet. I will present one more piece of proof," Noah said.

Noah took out a piece of cloth from his pocket.

"Uncle Henry, do you know what this is?" Noah asked.

"What are you trying to prove with this cloth, Noah?" Henry asked.

"I see, so you still don't want to say the truth. This piece of cloth, which I got from the Gangsters' villa, and if I remember correctly, 3 days before when we were planning our attack, you seemed to have some difficulty in walking. Do you still need to hide, Uncle Henry?" Noah said.

"You take out a piece of cloth and make up any story, and that won't make me a traitor, right, Noah? You have not proved that this is mine. Otherwise, I'll ask other villagers to punish this kid for creating discord between us," Henry echoed, his panic growing.

Before Noah could speak, Sakura interjected.

"I can prove that this piece of cloth is Henry's, and what Noah said about 3 days ago, Henry having some problems is also true," Sakura said.

"It's Sakura whom Henry has confessed recently," one of the villagers spoke up.

"Tell Sakura in detail what you know," the High Priest said

"Three days ago, Henry proposed to me, the high priest. At that time, I noticed a hole in his pants and asked him about it. He told me it happened while he was working, and that he was also experiencing pain while walking," Sakura reported.

"He also said that soon we would be able to live without any worries, as he proposed to me," Sakura added.

"Do you still want to hide now, Henry?" Greg asked.

Having nothing left to hide, Henry stepped forward and admitted, "Yes, I was the one giving information about the village to the gang. But please listen to me, Sakura. I did this for us. I approached one of the gangsters and found out that they were planning to capture this village soon. So I made a deal with them that once they captured the village, they would spare us and let us live here without any worries. This was all for us, Sakura, for our future," he said tearfully.

After learning all the details, Sakura said, "You know, Henry, what I hate the most is betrayal. And that is exactly what you have done. You didn't even consider for a moment that I might not want to live with this guilt in my conscience. You sacrificed the entire village just for us. You have disappointed me, Henry. I would have been happy if we could live here for a while without any guilt in our hearts."

"I'm sorry, Sakura. But even if I hadn't made a deal, someone else would have. The gang was going to come here regardless," Henry responded.

Hearing this, the villagers' mood became even more somber, and the situation grew more complicated. "Yes, maybe someone else would have made a deal with them, Henry. But it was never about how others would react, but how we would conduct ourselves, isn't that right?" Greg said.

"If everyone jumps off a cliff, does that mean you have to jump too?" Sohan added.

"Yes, Sohan, what you said is correct. Like you guys are following the kid off the cliff, I just want to save myself. What I did wasn't wrong. It's just that the boy has luck, and I don't. He wins, and I lose," Henry said.

"You know, Henry, that's why rules and regulations are made. Every situation has two sides, and no one can say for sure which side is correct. Someone might be correct in their way, but wrong for the community they live in, like you. What you did may have been right for yourself, but it was wrong for the village. This question has existed since ancient times," the high priest explained.

"That's why we have to decide on our bottom line in life and focus more on karma than results. This is our ancient teaching, our history. Never forget this. Not just for you, Henry, but for everyone. Whenever you come across this kind of situation, always follow karma. The result is up to you to decide," the high priest continued.

"As for Henry, what you did was take personal gain over the village, which could hurt the village. If Noah had not taken the first step and come to me about striking the gang, you could have put the village in even greater danger. So my suggestion is for you to leave this village and never come back. We are not here to judge you, but what you did goes against the village's well-being, so you cannot stay here," the high priest concluded.

Everyone was shocked by the high priest's suggestion. Before anyone could speak, Henry said, "Yes, High Priest, I will leave the village. Thank you for giving me a chance to get out and the knowledge, I will not forget this in my whole life." Henry said

Greg tried to speak, but Noeli stopped him mid-sentence. Henry heard a shout as he reached the village entrance: "Henry, you idiot, where are you going? You can't leave me here!" He turned back and saw Sakura running towards him. She hugged him tightly and cried, "You idiot, why are you leaving me here?"

"Sakura, what I did was wrong for the village, so I don't have any right to stay here now," Henry said.

"Then why aren't you taking me with you?" Sakura replied.

Henry was shocked by Sakura's response. He didn't know what to say. When he didn't reply, Sakura pinched him and asked angrily, "You don't want to take me with you?"

Henry snapped back to reality and replied, "I thought you hated me and didn't want to see me now."

"At first, I was angry with you, but after understanding your point of view, I know that what you did was for us. How can I still hate you? I want to be with you and face the coming difficulties together," Sakura said.

"Are you sure? The next life will be very difficult. We will not have our own home and have to wander from here to there," Henry said.

"I already accepted that when I came to you. But promise me one thing, you will never do something like this again in the future," Sakura replied.

"I promise you will not hear anything from me like this," Henry promised and started moving out of the village with Sakura. Once they were outside, they turned back and gave a last glance at the village that had sheltered them after the war and had become their new home. After kowtowing at the entrance of the village, they left.

As Henry and Sakura left, everyone became emotional and vowed never to let this village or their loved ones down in their lives. With new hope and anticipation of what was coming, everyone left for their homes. As the group dispersed, Greg approached Noah.

"How did you know it was Henry?" he asked.

Noah smiled wryly. "When we discussed our plan of action three days ago, I saw Uncle Henry entering the village while having difficulty walking. And now, as we're leaving the gang villa, I found a piece of cloth. So, I just guessed it, but I wasn't 100% sure."

Greg shook his head in disbelief. "You're a crazy kid," he said. "But I have to admit, you might have just saved us all."

Noah grinned. "That's what I'm here for," he said.

As they walked away, Greg couldn't help but feel a newfound respect for the young boy. Noah had proven himself to be a valuable member of the group, and Greg knew that they would need him if they were going to survive the coming days.
