Chapter 16 - Five Years Later

As the village slept after their successful celebration, Noah and his team were already planning their next moves. The High Priest informed them that he had asked villagers from surrounding towns and villages to gather information about the gangsters in general, but he had not informed them about the existence of the mastermind. The High Priest didn't want to panic the villagers, so he thought it was best to keep this information to themselves for now.

"We can't do anything except wait for those people to gather information, otherwise we will be headless flies. So what I suggest is we train ourselves to handle any situation that comes to us," said Greg.

Noah agreed with Greg, "I think we should take this opportunity to train ourselves and be prepared for any situation that might arise."

The High Priest added, "I agree with Greg, and we should wait for the injured people to recover completely before we take any further actions."

After a week of waiting, the High Priest called a meeting with ten people in attendance to discuss the findings. He shared the bad news, "We tried to gather information from the surrounding villages, but we didn't get any particular news regarding the mastermind. The only thing that is difficult to digest is that other villagers are also getting attacked by the gangs, but if the village pays a monthly tribute to them, the gangs are not disturbing them. Only our village was targeted."

Sohan asked, "So, we are at a dead end right now. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we should move on from here?"

The room became tense and depressed, and someone suggested, "Why not just leave this village and migrate to somewhere else?"

Greg shouted, "What the hell did you just say?" and was ready to beat that person.

The High Priest ordered Greg to sit down, and then he said, "I know many of us are not happy with his suggestion, and some of us may also agree with him. So just sit down and talk. Not everyone can be on the same boat."

The atmosphere remained tense and quiet until the High Priest spoke up, "I am not going to deny anyone from leaving the village. Everyone has the right to choose how they want to move and decide their future. But if anyone wants to leave, please don't mention anything about this village outside. I will be staying here even if not a single person wants to stay. "

Noah added, "I am also staying in this village."

Greg, Sohan, Ajay, Noeli, and two others decided to stay in the village as well, while three people chose to leave.

With no one blaming them for leaving, they stood up and said "Thanks everyone for all these years of care but we will not be able to enjoy that in the future, we are just normal people with no fighting power like you guys and we still have our family to take care and we don't want them to be in further danger so we are sorry" with that they left the chamber.

"Good luck to you guys for the future, and we understand," said Sohan.

No one spoke after they left, as they didn't know what to do next. Greg tried to divert the attention by suggesting, "So guys, since we are not leaving the village, we have to come up with a plan on how to deal with the mastermind."

Noah said, "I have one suggestion, but I don't know if it's feasible or not. Since we don't have any leads on the mastermind, why not start cleaning the surrounding gangs as we did yesterday? We might gather some information during these operations."

Greg supported Noah's idea, "This idea can be implemented, and it will also make us train ourselves with actual combat. We will be better prepared for future battles with the mastermind. I am with Noah's suggestion."

"How many of you are with Noah's plan?" asked the High Priest.

Ajay raised his hand and said, "Since we don't have any leads, we might as well try this."

Following him, everyone raised their hands and the High Priest

In the afternoon, the High Priest shared the upcoming plans for the village with the residents. Upon learning about the state of the village, a few people left with the assurance that they would not reveal any confidential information to others, while the majority stayed behind.

Noah, Greg, and their team embarked on a mission to gather information about the mastermind and improve their combat skills by attacking rival gangs. As time passed, five years had already gone by.

One day, a teenager of approximately 15 years of age displayed the proficiency and fearlessness of a seasoned assassin as he effortlessly killed a person.

"Finally Noah we got enough information about the mastermind, now we can plan our next course of action and take down the mastermind," Greg said

The young man was Noah and the one talk is his Uncle Greg from the village who started counterattacking the gangsters 5 years ago.

"It has taken us 5 years to crack down on this gangster network and finally we can track the mastermind," Noah added

With that Noah and his team left the scene towards the village.

Once they reached the village Noah told the High Priest about getting information about the mastermind.

"Okay, Noah you guys rest first then we will discuss how we can deal with that gang." High Priest suggested.

"Okay grandpa, will meet you later," Noah said and left for his room

While moving toward his room Noah started thinking about what transpired in the last 5 years.

Noah's life had changed drastically in the last 5 years.

During these years he learned that Uncle Greg has gone through army training from a very young age and had been working as a bodyguard before the war.

Greg has trained some of the villagers including Noah during these 5 years. These selected villagers have now become the main attacking team including Sohan, Ajay, and others who, along with Noah, had raided the gang five years ago.

Noah could now hold his own against five opponents at once and surpass his uncle's skills. His body and agility are even above normal adult humans.

Noah had become an integral part of the village's counterattack team. He had been trained to use various weapons and was now an expert in close combat. He had also become a skilled strategist and was able to devise plans that would help the team to take down the gangsters.

In the past 5 years, they had successfully taken down several gangs and had been gathering information about the mastermind. It had been a long and arduous journey, but they had finally managed to get the information they needed.

Noah couldn't believe how much he had grown in these years. He had become a skilled fighter and a respected member of the village. But he knew that his journey was far from over. They still had to take down the mastermind and put an end to the gang's reign of terror.

Noah reached his room and sat down on his bed. He pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket and read the information they had gathered about the mastermind. He knew that they would have to be very careful while executing their plan. The mastermind was a dangerous man who had eluded them for years.

Noah closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He knew that he had to be calm and focused if they were going to succeed. He had to be the leader that his team needed him to be.

As he sat there, lost in his thoughts, he couldn't help but wonder what the future held for him and his team. The world had changed so much in the past 15 years, and he didn't know what lay ahead. But he was ready to face whatever challenges came his way.

Noah drifted off to sleep, his mind filled with memories of the past and worries about the future. He knew that the fight against the gangsters was far from over and that there were many more battles to come. But for now, he needed to rest and gather his strength for the next battle.
