Greg and Noah sat down with the village head, Greg listening intently as the man recounted the village's struggles with food reserves. The problem had started a year ago, when a new businessman, Gaurav, had taken over the business that the villagers had been dealing with before.
Initially, the villagers had thought that dealing with someone new wouldn't make much of a difference, as they would still have to pay for and procure the food. But they were wrong. Gaurav started quoting the price of wheat and other products as per what he liked. Sometimes it would be five times more, sometimes ten times more. In the beginning, they had gritted their teeth and bought the food, but now many people were bankrupt due to the high expenditure on food. The village output was not enough for the whole village, and Gaurav had started his tyranny here.
The village head then told Greg and Noah about how one group of people had come to their village around three years ago and had handled one gang, freeing their village from that gang's tyranny. The villagers were not able to verify whether Greg and Noah were members of that group who helped them before, as Noah had put on the mask given by the High Priest, and Greg had not interacted with them three years ago. The villagers did not know them.
"If we can contact them, maybe we can solve this Gaurav problem as well," the village head said. "But they didn't tell us where they came from and how to contact them again."
Greg and Noah listened intently, getting a basic understanding of the situation. The villagers were not able to yield enough, so they had to procure food from outside, but Gaurav was manipulating prices, which affected the villagers. Greg asked the village head if he knew anything particular about Gaurav, where he came from, and why he was doing this.
"No, we don't know anything, even the previous businessman, where he went, we don't know," the village head replied.
"No problem, sir. We will help you in trying to solve this issue," Greg said.
Greg and Noah realized that they had to help these villagers. They assured the village head that they would do their best to solve this problem. They knew that they had to find a way to deal with Gaurav and put an end to his tyranny.
The duo decided to gather more information about Gaurav and his operations before devising a plan to deal with him. They spent the next few days talking to the villagers and gathering information about Gaurav's business and his whereabouts. They also spoke to other villages affected by Gaurav's tyranny to understand the full extent of his activities.
As they gathered more information, they realized that Gaurav was running a racket where he would buy crops from the farmers at a low price and then sell them at exorbitant rates to the villagers. He was making a massive profit at the cost of the villagers, and he had no qualms about exploiting them.
"What happened to you Noah, why are you feeling so low today," Greg asked
"Uncle Greg when we helped this village before we dealt with the gangsters and now new person came and started exploiting the villagers. It's like if solve one another person is ready to take his place. Will there be any end to this situation if it goes on like this?" Noah said
Greg sighed and replied "Noah where there are humans this thing will always happen. If there are good people then there will be bad people also. Every human has some desires and some people become slaves to their desire and move on to the path which they shouldn't.
This desire is also what makes civilization move forward, so if you start thinking about these things you will be lost and will not be able to move on in your life so leave these thoughts in your mind." Greg suggested
Not receiving any reply from Noah, Greg said "Noah doesn't think about them when you see more you will get what I am trying to say. Now let's first handle this Gaurav."
"Okay Uncle," Noah replied.
On the third day
Greg and Noah came to the Village head and told him that "Sir we have gathered the information about Gaurav and since he is staying in Jing town we are moving toward Jing town and will handle him there. But till then we contacted Kunj village yesterday and discuss with them this issue.
So Kunj village temple high priest you also might know has decided to start a formal business with the neighboring village directly rather than going to Jing town or Kerel city and create a local ecosystem to maintain the livelihood of surrounding villages. Not like before when a villager is going to town and city for business." Greg Said
"Yeah I know high priest, I've also gone many times before to Kunj village." Village head replied
"I know you may doubt if this solution will work or not, so for that, some people from Kunj village will be coming to Ning village today for better discussion and to make a prototype of business on how to do and we will be going to Jing town to deal with Gaurav," Greg said.
The village head was pleased to hear about the plan and thanked Greg and Noah for their efforts. He also expressed his gratitude towards the High Priest and the people from Kunj village for their support in creating a local ecosystem to maintain the livelihood of surrounding villages.
Greg and Noah left for Jing town, where they found out that Gaurav had a strong hold on the local market. They gathered more information about Gaurav's operations and associates before devising a plan to deal with him.
They realized that he was not working alone as they went deeper into Gaurav's business. He had several associates who were involved in various illegal activities such as smuggling and money laundering. They also discovered that Gaurav was funding a local gang terrorizing the neighboring villages.
"Uncle Greg, do you think this Gaurav is somehow connected to the wolf gang?" Noah asked
"I also got this feeling but I am not 100% sure yet. Let's try to find out more about him." Greg replied
Noah and Greg stayed in Jing Town to gather details about Gaurav.
