Chapter 15 - The High Priest's Hunch

As Greg and Noah walked into the High Priest's chamber, they heard him say, "Come in." The High Priest was already waiting for them, and as usual, he wasted no time in getting straight to the point. "Tell me what you want to discuss this time," he said.

Noah was surprised. "How do you know that we are coming and need to discuss something?" he asked.

The High Priest chuckled. "Kid, this much I know about you - you will not spill all the beans in front of the villagers and still have some left for me. So, tell me now."

"Hehe, Grandpa, you know me," Noah replied. "Okay, come to the point. I also need to sleep. After all, I am already old, not like you young ones," the High Priest said.

Noah began to explain what had happened after they had captured the gang boss and the information they had obtained from him. "So, grandpa, even though we have destroyed this gang, the mastermind behind them wants to capture our village. But who is it, and why do they want our village? We don't know," Noah said.

The High Priest became silent after hearing all of this. After a moment of deep thought, he said, "Maybe I know why they want to capture our village, but we have to find out who it is first."

The atmosphere in the chamber became heavy and tense. "Tell us, High Priest, what you know," Greg added.

"It's just a hunch, so we need to confirm it before I say anything," the High Priest said.

Noah spoke up. "Then, grandpa, we have to find out these details as soon as possible and better prepare for any danger that the village may face."

The High Priest nodded. "Yes, I will ask some villagers to gather information from surrounding towns and villages who travel there regularly to see what they can find. We will also need to increase vigilance around the village," he suggested.

"High Priest, leave training and other activities to me," Greg added.

"Okay, then let's end today here. We will gather any other information we can and plan our next action accordingly," the High Priest said.

"Okay, grandpa. We will wait for the next meeting," Noah added.

With that, Greg and Noah left the High Priest's chamber. They knew the situation was serious and needed to act quickly to protect their village. The High Priest's hunch had set them on a new path, and they were determined to find out who the mastermind behind the gang was and why they wanted their village.

When Noah reached his room and went to open the door, he remembered something important, his aunt Alia.

"Oh no Aunt will be very furious right now and if I go now she will not spare me so better come later and then coax her," Noah thought

When he turned and was going to run off, his ear has been picked and twisted with force and Noah cried in pain.

"So you now only think of coming and before even entering you want to leave. You think you are the hero and do anything as you please." Alia berated Noah

"What hero, you misunderstand aunt," Noah replied in pain

"Oh, now I am misunderstanding," Alia replied and twisted Noah's ear more

Noah cried in pain again.

"Aunt I am sorry, I am not saying that." Noah cried

"Whether I misunderstand something or not let's enter the room first," Alia said

"No Aunt, I am hungry right now so let me bring some food first" Noah tried to leave there because he knows if he enter the room now he will not be far from death.

"Don't worry I already have something for you to eat, let's go," Alia replied in a heavy tone

Noah knows he can't do anything now and have to enter the room.

After Alia closed the room, the sounds of someone being beaten can be heard from outside.

Only 10 to 15 minutes later those sounds stopped.

Inside the room

Noah knew that his aunt Alia was a strict disciplinarian, but he never expected her to be so angry that she would physically punish him. As they entered the room, Noah has already seen that Alia had prepared a delicious meal, but he knew better than to enjoy it before his aunt was satisfied with his explanation.

Only now after getting beaten, he can enjoy that meal.

"Sit down and eat," Alia ordered, as she took a seat across from Noah.

Noah began eating, but he could feel his aunt's piercing gaze on him. He knew he had to say something to ease her anger.

"Aunt, I know I should have told you before leaving, but I had to go with Uncle Greg. We needed to capture the gang boss, and we couldn't take any chances," Noah explained.

"Do you think I don't understand the importance of your mission?" Alia replied sharply. "But that doesn't mean you can leave without telling me. I'm your guardian, and I need to know where you are at all times."

Noah nodded in agreement, and he knew his aunt was right. He had acted recklessly, and he was lucky that this mission went smoothly.

"I promise I won't do it again, Aunt. I know how worried you get when I disappear without telling you," Noah said, hoping to placate his aunt.

Alia remained silent, and Noah could see that she was still angry. He knew that he had to do something to make it up to her.

"I'll make it up to you, Aunt I'll help with the chores around the house, and I'll be more responsible from now on," Noah offered.

Alia looked at Noah for a moment, and then finally spoke. "I'll forgive you this time, but you need to be more responsible in the future. I don't want to have to worry about you all the time."

Noah nodded in agreement, relieved that his aunt had forgiven him. After he finished his meal quickly and went to bed, hoping that tomorrow would be a better day.

When Noah woke up it was already evening and he find that all his wounds are covered with bandages and his clothes also have been changed to new ones.

"It must be aunt Alia who helped me I was so tired in the morning that I slept without taking care of these things. Although she has beaten me it has not scratched a little thinking I will feel pain, she is tough on the outside but soft on the inside. Hehe" Noah thought

Energized Noah started training for any future dangers to come.
