"Oh? Found your purpose already? Though that should have been expected as we primordial beings are born with purpose engraved in our being, unlike the animals and magical creatures that roam my Earth" Gaea acknowledges with an amused glint in her eye.
"Rah! Grawh!" The young primordial affirms.
"Then I suppose you should be on your way. A word of caution though, before you start recklessly charging into the territory of others and annoying them. Primordial you may be, but ultimately immature and lacking as you are now."
"WRRRRYY!" The Hydra growls out offended. Though as much as they want to side with their pride, they are not stupid. They are a child of Chaos after all! So they took her warning seriously.
"Well then, I am looking forward to your growth. Until next time." Gaea says as she disappears back into the soil of the earth.
The area is silent once again. The Hydra looks on to the destruction he cause earlier and decided to act. So they once again channeled that familiar energy, this time not thinking of power and instead of restoration. Chaos energy instantly brewed, and heeded their command flawlessly.
"Fwoooooo~.." This time manifesting as a pulse instead of a blast, the Chaos energy influenced the destroyed land with 'Chaos'. Inverting their state of decay and crazily returning to as it was with the rampant energy influencing their lifeforce. The poisonous mist dispelling in accordance to the great Hydra's intent, now the forest is ever more vibrant than it ever was before.
Pride swells in the beast's heart, marveling at their own power over life and death, creation and destruction. For the first time in the Hydra's crazy but very short life, they felt contentment.
But, this was not enough. They, after having gained knowledge from Gaea, know the best that they are severely lacking. For even if they can use the power of Chaos, they are not truly 'using' Chaos. Compared to the threats that roam this green Earth and beyond, he was less than inadequate. For the threats to themselves and the ideals they will strive to live by, The Hydra decides once again, to become stronger.
'Knowledge often comes with the heaviest burden. And freedom births both good and bad' The Hydra understands.
Even this little stunt has already drained them of most their energy. Quickly deciding that rest was what they needed, they quickly dive back in the restored lake.
------ ??? year Time skip -------
Deep within an unmarked forest in the middle of nowhere, a fierce battle is taking place. Everything was torn asunder, trees were scattered by the atom, and plants, hills and soil were vaporized within moments every second. The perpetrators of such destruction were in heated battle. Five certain pairs of cold eyes settled on another more rabid pair of slit eyes.
'Hmph, to think this single-headed oafish lizard would even think about intruding on my territory once more' The now revealed Hydra grimaces in contempt.
" We. Told. You. That. This. Would. Be. The. Last. Time. Didn't. We?" They sneered reproachfully, speaking each word with a different head each time at the similarly sized Dragon in front of him.
Lately, our Hydra had picked up the beastly language that all sufficiently knowledgeable beasts use from all of his past prey. But no matter how creepy or absolutely intimidating this would've looked to literally anyone else, this one unfortunately didn't look like he cared.
"AHAHAHAHA! like that matters right now! C'mon! YOU'RE THE ONLY THAT CAN GIVE ME AN ACTUAL FIGHT!" The red Dragon dismisses.
His golden slit eyes glowing with excitement! In all his life, he had never fought an opponent as strong and fearsome as this one. Never had he felt such dread and nervousness when facing opponent ever since.. never! Even as an esteemed and one of the strongest members of one of the first races to walk this Earth, a legendary Dragon. He still felt like he was standing in front of an insurmountable mountain he could never fly over.
" BUT THATS WHY YOU'RE SO FUN AIN' IT? " The mysterious Dragon roared with all his heart.
Fighting the Hydra was so fun! They were just like him, always seeking to improve and better themselves. The only downside was that the Five headed snake seemed to be obsessed with being neutral and free. Always murmuring about how he seeks to be the keeper of balance, and that his purpose was protect creation with destruction, and destruction with creation. Whatever that means.
" UGh. Fine. Ask. And. You. Shall. Receive. " Finally having had enough, the Hydra rushes forward jaws poised to strike!
" WAHAHAHA " The Red Dragon roars wildly. Flying up high with claws and teeth at the forefront of his assault.
However, as they were about to impact, five heads split to ten, and ten to twenty! With the power of Chaos, the heads were moving incomprehensibly, their trajectories becoming completely undecipherable. A storm of teeth and scale!
" I've seen this trick before! " Knowing that dodging was conceptually impossible, the Red Dragon opted to instead coat his scale in the hottest of magma, forged into the sharpest of nails along his body. Pure force countering the conceptual based attack. Yet not without injury, as he was left with numerous injuries and muscles torn and twisted like a whirlpool and several heads still holding onto his natural armor.
" YOUR MAGIC IS AS POWERFUL AS EVER! ABSOLUTE AND UNFORGIVING! CHAOS PERSONIFIED! WAHAHA! " He exclaims, unbothered by the Chaos energy racking his body, like a fortress of scales.
"And. You. As. Brutish. As. Ever. Oaf." The Hydra sneers. " And. I'm. Not. Done. Yet. "
As The Hydra finishes their sentence with a chorus of voices, suddenly all of the heads detached and the main body retreated with only the center head left.
" Become. Dust. " They say as their heads begin to regenerate rapidly.
" WhA- " The Dragon exclaims as all the excess heads wrapped around him and started melting into a viscous purple liquid. The Hydra's natural poison, enhanced and influenced by Chaos, has now become one of the most dangerous poisons ever possible. Capable of disintegrating souls and reverting immortality to mortality, not that they have ever tested it on another divine being.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" He agonizes in pain, feeling every molecule in his dragon body collapse slowly. Yet he does not fall.
" Hmph. So. Even. This. Will. Not. Make. You. Give. Up? Truly. You. Are. A. Worthy. Opponent. " The Hydra acknowledges for the first time.
"Ha! It seems I can only give my all once more before I have to retreat until our next bout! Tis' a shame we could only exchange moves once. But! WAHAHA! I am honored to have a rival as insurmountable as you!" The Dragon decides half excited-half grim. To think that a venerable Dragon of his caliber needs to retreat once more. Riveting!
He slowly builds up energy in his throat. Power. So Pure and Unstoppable that it gleams through the scales of his throat. The already ruined rocks and debris around begin to melt into the hottest magma. Until Finally-
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA---BOOOOOOOOOOMMM!" Absolute Decimation. Miles and miles of ash and flame. A breath so fierce it seemed like another Sun had graced the Earth. Even the other divine beings could not help but be surprised. After, all their previous bouts were of a smaller and more normal scale. To think that there were such powerful beings hidden until now.
And yet- "Hmmmm. Most. Impressive. I. Commend. You. Dragon. Of. Unrelenting. Might." From within the ashes, sits a burned stump of flesh connectes to a charrws tail, and yet, the unrecognizable mass of flesh instantly regenerated into a small-hill sized, Five headed behemoth of a Hydra.
Indeed, much has changed ever since the night of his birth. This Hydra trained, and trained, and hunted, and dominated. It resided over it's birthplace, keeping a balance in every hunt. All damage was restored. All creation was destroyed. They had mastered the many intricacies and powers of Chaos, yet it seemed their road was as boundless as the energy they wield.
-To Be Continued-
( Now you may have noticed the big time skip that I took. this was necessary, trust me, you don't wanna sit through 5 chapters of hunting boring creatures that hold absolutely no importance when we have so much ground to cover. And learning a magic system that's supposed to be mysterious. I plan to make Chaos as creatively used and unorthodox as possible. Inform me of typos and errors so I can improve the novel. Thanks for reading.)
