Five dreary heads expressed their new found mettle through a grin. Which in reality was a terrifyingly twisted expression that does indicate joy at all.
Nevertheless, the fight was not over but a conclusion was close, you can even say it was within reach. But there was one problem, Not only were the Titans exhausted, they were too. They had spent almost all of their remaining energy for that stunt, which almost didn't work! The Hydra thought, that after they won, which they obviously would, they would work on this. The Beast thought themselves arrogantly.
' Hmmm, those single headed idiots seem to be spent. But so am I, hmmm... oh? " They suddenly had an idea. Deciding to execute it with haste before they get a hold of themselves.
And without any warning at all, the beast rushed forward, using the remaining Chaos they could access, and rushed forward manically, creating a very familiar effect. Their blood was pumping, and their body was transfiguring into a sleeker, sharper form, like a fortress-sized javelin. As they were traveling towards the Titans, Oceanus in particular, their speed suddenly increased and the momentum they were generating multiplied. Yes, they copied Atlas' signature charge, albeit with less strength.
" Curses!! " It seemed Oceanus understood what was going on, hence the frantic panic dodging. Atlas could only watch as his technique was replicated and his ally being chased down. The foul beast hadn't given the River God enough time to dispel his divine construct. Hence leaving him no choice but to take it and endure the stick lodged in his chest. The energy inside rampaging like enraged waves, disrupting his muscle control and pre-occupying him.
The Hydra was near, and Oceanus having decided dodging was useless, since the five heads trajectory seemed to trap him in a metaphorical stranglehold, braced himself with all the divine energy or divine mana he had left.
" O-Oh River Okeanos! Heed my c- ! " He tried to empower it even more, but it was too late.
" RAAAAAAA-- BOOOOOOOM! " The impact rung throughout the realms, destroying the River God's flimsy barrier and sending him flying.
And it seemed that last hit had concluded the legendary battle. With both sides having absolutely nothing to give. It was a tie, since none died. But the Titans have undoubtedly lost much more, having accomplished nothing but an additional enemy and lasting injuries that would takes years to heal.
"...huff...huff... T-that's it huh? You won this time Beast of Chaos! But this isn't the end! " Atlas conceded, but not without one last threat.
" Leave! There. Will. Be. No. Next. Time. " The Hydra sneered with eyes boring into Atlas' soul.
"...huff... oh t-there will be alright... but it would be your demise! " Atlas replied, gazing back into their venom filled eyes fearlessly.
" We. Will. See. Foolish. Titansss. " They concluded, hissing.
And so, with hesitant steps and wounded body and pride, the Titans both teleported with the remaining vestiges of their power.
The Hydra, left alone in a decimated battlefield- if you could call it that -looked onto the destruction their fight had caused. His home and birthplace, reduced to atoms. There was absolutely no life or noticable landmarks within miles and miles. This was a deadzone now, and while the Hydra desperately wanted to use their powers to restore the land, they had nothing left. Even keeping their heads above the ground was too much now.
So, they decided to leave permanently. They looked onto the horizon, where the wretched Titans had come from. This was not the end, they knew. It was for the better anyway. If this was their life from now on, it was best not to get attached.
The Hydra took one last look at their ruined home, and left. Crawling towards the shore and swimming away with no particular destination in mind.
But even so, the Hydra was determined to pay those wretches back, tenfold! But first, they needed to recover. They thought as they swim deeper and deeper into the trenches they found in the ocean, subsequently scaring away every other fish or beast from the area.
With dwindling consciousness and dreary eyes, the Hydra fell into the embrace of Hypnos and fell into a slumber.
--- Meanwhile, Mount Othrys ---
The Titan King was sitting on his giant resplendent throne, awaiting the good news of his General's victory.
' Whatever you are planning, It won't work Gaea. I was destined to rule the cosmos! ' Kronos thought proudly, internally belittling his mother.
When quite abruptly,
" Fwup! " "Fwoo! " It seemed they had returned.
Kronos straightened himself, and looked on as his confidants returned to his side. But slowly, with each step, his face went awry and his expression became unreadable.
" What. Is. The. Meaning. Of. This? " Kronos menacingly asked- no, demanded of them -enunciating each word with a dark undertone.
His esteemed General and brother were a mess. Cuts and bruises littered their skin and their complexion was pale. Their breaths heavy and eyes glazed, like they had just come from a war, which they did.
" We failed. " Atlas reported simply seeing no reason to drawl out words.
" WHAT! WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU FAILED!? " Kronos rumbled, his voice echoing throughout the palace. Power radiated from his figure, pressuring the Titans in front of him.
" We were evenly matched... huff... a wretched Chaos born beast! Five heads marred with teeth and scale!...huff... A size comparable to our race, who are known for our towering physique. A mysterious power that can bend reality to its will and do with our divinities as it pleases! " Oceanus explained, urgently stressing the seriousness of the situation.
" I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY EXCUSES! DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR FAILURE MEANS?! THOSE OTHER PANTHEONS WOULD SEE US AS WEAK! " The self centered Kronos, worried about his reputation rather than the looming danger in the horizon.
" I do, but this is of outmost seriousness. We have a dangerous enemy that's actively looking for our demise. " Atlas replied coolly, unbothered by his King's raging pressure. He was about to press on when-
" My liege! Liege Kronos! I have most delighting news! " From the giant doors of the throne room, enters a familiar wisp of frosty wind. It was Koios, and he was looking quite giddy.
" What is it! This better be good... " The Titan King grumbled, already infuriated to the extreme.
" It is very much good my Lord! The Queen! She is pregnant! An heir will finally grace our pantheon! " Koios delivered the good news.
" ... " Kronos was silent, his expression unreadable.
" Atlas? "
" My King? "
" Was the beast injured? Incapacitated? "
" Very much so, yet the threat sti- "
" Then! Forget about it for now... I have other matters to attend to. " Kronos said with a tone of finality.
Seeing his King so adamant, he decided to let it go, an heir was also of upmost importance after all. But he would not let his guard down.
And so, Kronos dismissed them and left with heavy steps.
