Chapter 42 - Levi's Decision

Levi's heart was pounding in his chest as he followed Zephyr down the narrow stairway. His mind was racing with questions, and he couldn't wait any longer to ask them.

"Zephyr," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Who exactly are you, and why do they want to arrest me because of Demonic Mana? I don't even use it."

Zephyr turned to him, his eyes piercing. "Let's sit down first. I will explain it to you."

They made their way over to a small table in the corner of the room and took a seat. Zephyr leaned back in his chair and clasped his hands together, his gaze fixed on Levi.

"First of all, let me tell you why they say that you have Demonic Mana. It is wrong. You don't have the Demonic Mana," Zephyr said to Levi, his voice calm but firm.

Levi was shocked by Zephyr's words. He couldn't understand why anyone would accuse him of having Demonic Mana.

"Then why do they accuse me?" Levi asked, his voice filled with confusion.

Zephyr sighed and leaned forward, placing a hand on Levi's shoulder. "There are many who want power, and yours is one of them. Your mana is not a normal mana but a rare type of mana. They wanted to get their hands on you by disguising you as a Demonic Mana user."

Levi's mind was racing with thoughts as he tried to make sense of Zephyr's words. "So they are after me because of my mana? But how is that possible?"

Zephyr's expression turned serious. "There are those who believe that certain types of mana can give them immense power and control over others. They are willing to go to great lengths to obtain that power."

Levi shook his head in disbelief. He couldn't believe that people would go to such extremes to gain power. "But how do they even know about my mana? I've never told anyone about it."

"It is pretty easy for strong people like them to feel your mana," Zephyr replied, his voice calm and measured. "Your mana is strong, even if you don't use it. They have likely been tracking you for some time, waiting for the right moment to make their move."

Levi's eyes widened in shock. "Tracking me? How is that even possible?"

Zephyr nodded. "There are ways to sense mana from a distance, especially for those who are skilled in its use. They likely detected your mana from a distance and have been following you ever since."

Levi felt a chill run down his spine. He had never realized that he was being watched. He had always thought that he was just a normal person going about his life.

"So what do I do now?" Levi asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Zephyr leaned back in his chair and steepled his fingers, a small smile on his face. "Join our group," he said. "Our group is one of the groups that consist of special mana users like you. We can help you develop your skills and teach you how to control your mana. We also have the resources to protect you from those who seek to harm you."

Levi looked at Zephyr skeptically. He wasn't sure if he could trust this man, or if he even wanted to be a part of some secret group. "Why should I trust you?" he asked.

Zephyr leaned forward, his eyes intense. "Because we are the only ones who can help you. You can try to run, but they will find you eventually. Or you can join us and learn how to protect yourself and use your powers for good."

Levi sat there, still unsure of what to do. He knew that he was in danger, and he needed to do something to protect himself. But the idea of joining a secret group of mana users seemed daunting.

As he sat there, lost in thought, a memory suddenly flashed into his mind. "What about my friend Mark?" he blurted out. "I remembered that he passed out because of them."

Zephyr's expression turned serious again as Levi mentioned his friend. "I don't know what to say," he replied, his voice heavy with regret. "Your friend seems to be already dead. When I appear there, I can not feel his life force anymore. Even though he looks like he is passed out, he is dead."

Levi's heart sank at the news. He couldn't believe that his friend was gone. He had always thought that they would be able to get through anything together. "No," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "It can't be true."

"I'm sorry," Zephyr said, placing a hand on Levi's shoulder. "I wish there was something we could have done, but it seems like we were too late."

Levi felt tears well up in his eyes as he thought about his friend. He couldn't believe that he was gone, and he couldn't help but feel guilty. If only he had known about the danger sooner, maybe he could have done something to save him.

Levi's emotions were in turmoil. He felt a mix of anger, grief, and guilt. He wanted to lash out at those who had caused his friend's death, but he also knew that he was powerless against them.

As he sat there, lost in thought, Zephyr spoke again. "Join us, Levi," he said, his voice soft but firm. "We can teach you how to use your powers for good. We can help you avenge your friend's death and make sure that no one else suffers the same fate."

Levi looked up at Zephyr, his eyes filled with determination. He knew that he couldn't just sit there and do nothing. He had to take action and do whatever it took to stop those who had caused his friend's death.

"I'll join you," he said, his voice strong and resolute. "I'll do whatever it takes to stop them and make sure that they pay for what they've done."

Zephyr nodded a small smile on his face. "Welcome to our group, Levi. Together, we will fight against those who seek to use their powers for evil and make the world a safer place for everyone."

Levi felt a sense of relief wash over him as he made his decision. He knew that he had a long and difficult journey ahead of him, but he also knew that he wasn't alone.

He had Zephyr and the rest of the group by his side, and together, they would do whatever it takes to stop those who sought to harm them and others like them.

As he stood up from the table, Levi felt a newfound sense of purpose. He knew that he had found his place in the world, and he was ready to fight for what was right. He had joined a group of special mana users who would teach him how to use his powers for good, and he was determined to make a difference.
