Chapter 44 - Awakened Mana

Levi was a bit confused about what they were talking about. He asked Zephyr, "Zephyr, why do I need to awaken my mana? Didn't my mana already awaken in the awakening ceremony years back?"

Zephyr laughed and said, "Yes, but this awakening is different. This time, the awakening is to unlock your true mana."

Levi furrowed his brows in confusion. "What do you mean by 'true mana'?" he asked.

Zephyr smiled knowingly. "You see, Levi, that awakening years back was only a basic one. This time, this awakening will make your mana become better."

Levi still looked skeptical. "I don't understand. What does 'better' mean in terms of mana?"

Zephyr placed a hand on Levi's shoulder. "It means that your mana will become more powerful, more attuned to your true potential. It will give you abilities that you never even knew were possible."

Levi's eyes widened with curiosity. He had always been intrigued by the concept of mana and its potential power.

He knew that his own mana had been awakened during the ceremony, but he had never explored its full potential. The idea of unlocking his "true mana" and gaining new abilities was both exciting and a bit daunting.

Zephyr must have sensed his hesitation, as he continued to explain, "Think of it like unlocking a new level of a game. You have already been playing, but now you have access to new abilities and challenges. It's the same with your mana."

Levi nodded slowly, still unsure but willing to trust Zephyr's judgement. "Okay, so what do I need to do?"

Zephyr led him to a glowing orb that sat in the center of the room. "Just touch this orb and let the orb do its job," he instructed.

Levi hesitated for a moment, then reached out to touch the orb. As soon as his fingertips made contact, he felt a surge of energy flowed through his body. The room began to glow brighter as the orb's power spread throughout the chamber.

Levi felt a jolt run through his body as the orb began to pulsate with a shiny blue light. He could sense his mana reacting to the energy emanating from the orb.

Suddenly, Zephyr's friend Ryu started shouting, "Haha, it's really it. Zephyr, you do a good job." Ryu was practically jumping up and down with excitement.

Zephyr smiled, clearly pleased with the results. "You see, Levi, your mana is responding to the orb's energy. You're on your way to unlocking your true potential."

Levi's heart raced with anticipation as he felt the power of the orb coursing through his veins. He could feel his mana awakening and expanding, as if it had been dormant all these years, waiting for this moment.

As the orb's light grew brighter, Levi felt himself being lifted off the ground. He was weightless, suspended in mid-air, as his body began to glow with a golden aura.

Zephyr and Ryu watched in awe as the power of the orb transformed Levi. His eyes shone with an otherworldly light as he levitated higher and higher.

And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the glow faded and Levi floated gently back to the ground. He looked up at Zephyr with a sense of wonder and amazement.

"I can feel it," he said breathlessly. "My mana... it's different now. More powerful, like you said."

Zephyr nodded with satisfaction. "That's just the beginning, Levi. You have unlocked the door to a whole new world of possibilities. The sky's the limit."

As Levi was trying to comprehend the immense power that had just flowed through his body, Ryu approached him with a smile. "You truly possessed that mana," he said with admiration.

Levi looked at him in surprise. "What do you mean?"

Ryu chuckled. "Your mana is special. It is different from other mana. This is also the reason why they want your mana but too bad for them, you have already awakened it. They cannot steal it anymore."

Levi was a bit confused by what Ryu had just said. He knew that his mana was powerful, but he didn't realize that it was special or that anyone would want to steal it. "What do you mean they want my mana?" he asked.

Ryu's smile faded, and he looked at Levi with a serious expression. "There are some who would do anything to get their hands on mana as powerful as yours," he explained. "They believe that by possessing it, they can gain great power and influence."

Levi's eyes widened in shock. He had always known that there were people in the world who craved power, but he had never realized that they would go to such lengths to obtain it. "But how can they steal my mana?" he asked.

"They might try to drain it from your body or use some sort of magical device to extract it," Ryu replied. "But now that you have awakened your mana, it is much more difficult for them to do so. You have become a powerful force to be reckoned with."

Levi felt a sense of relief wash over him. It was comforting to know that he had something that others coveted, but at the same time, it was also a bit unsettling. He had always been a simple farmer, and the idea of being pursued by powerful people made him feel uneasy.

Ryu noticed the apprehension on Levi's face and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Do not worry, Levi. Zephyr and I will protect you. We will not let anyone harm you."

Levi looked at Ryu with gratitude in his eyes. "Thank you," he said softly.

Ryu then smiled and said to him again, "That is why Divine Holy Court wants to arrest you for your mana."

Levi felt a chill run down his spine at the mention of the Divine Holy Court. They were said to be a group of elite mages who had been appointed by the gods to enforce justice in the world. But as time passed, their true intentions began to emerge.

Levi had been chased by them before arriving at this base. They had accused him of possessing forbidden knowledge and of using dark magic to gain power.

It was a strange accusation, as Levi had always been a simple farmer, with no interest in magic whatsoever. Nevertheless, the Holy Court had pursued him relentlessly, and he had been forced to flee for his life.

Now, as he looked into Ryu's eyes, he realized that the danger was not over. The Holy Court would stop at nothing to get their hands on his mana, and Levi knew that he had to be careful.
