Susan's mom, Selma, agreed to the idea of her daughter staying home for a few days since she also missed her company.
Derek felt his presence would only make Susan feel uncomfortable so he decided to leave first and politely declined Selma's invitation to eat lunch with them.
"Are you sure?" Selma asked but he nodded.
"Don't worry about it! I must be on my way." He said and handed Susan's bag to Kathrina before turning to leave.
"Susan dear, are you sure you're okay?" Selma inquired but she nodded with a faint smile.
"I'll just...miss the little guy, that's all." She said. "Let me walk Derek to his car and come back right away!" She followed Derek out in order to avoid more question sections.
They both walked to Derek's car in silence. She waited for him to get in but he just stood still, staring at her.
"Aren't you leaving?" She asked. He extended his hand towards her.
