Carlson read the atmosphere and brought Susan a glass of warm milk. She drank the entire glass and finally felt relieved.
"Are you feeling better now?" Derek asked and she nodded. She wanted to meet his eyes but felt hesitant. "Are you hesitating to look at my face? Are you still scared?" He asked but she shook her head.
"It's not that!" She said but they didn't seem to believe her.
"My lady, my lord can be a bit scary at times but I assure you, he's as gentle as they come." Carlson assured but she shook her head, more violently this time.
"I said it's not that."
How was she going to tell them the embarrassing fact that she was actually too shy to look at him because of his looks?
"Then are you still feeling uncomfortable?"
"I said it's not that! He's just too handsome, okay?!" She yelled.
The two in the room were left speechless. She caught them off guard and as her face burned with embarrassment, Derek found it cute.
