Before playing the game "Perfect Life," Han Fei did some online research. While the majority of the content was positive, many of the employed test players believed that this game was a paradise designed in a laboratory. In this virtual world of the game, there was everything one could ever hope or desire.
As he prepared to play the game at the time, Han Fei also imagined his own perfect life. He desired to have many friends. In his perfect world, he will never be concerned about money or repeating the "boring" lifestyle for wealth, alcohol, and mediocre entertainment.
Despite the lovely picture, Han Fei is, in fact, snuggled up under the worn-out bridal sheets with a kitchen knife. He is looking at the wall with badly chipped paint and a wall clock while inhaling the faint smell of mold in the air.
It was 2:30 in the morning!
Novice mission sleep started some time ago. The room is quiet, and nothing unexpected happened.
Han Fei started to tremble rapidly. Even if the granny's warning sounded frightening, this is a virtual game. Its aim is to give therapy!
No matter how difficult it is, nobody's living a life where they have to deal with homicidal killers and paranormal creatures regularly.
Ten more minutes passed, everything in the home was still how it should be, and Han Fei started to calm down.
He opened the attribute panel and began to thoroughly explore because he was unable to leave the bed and was feeling bored.
"After the public beta, a game this amazing will undoubtedly be a blockbuster. I'll get experience in the game, and maybe I may earn some additional money from the game in the future."

Han Fei read the attribute panel and felt a little lost. He had no idea when his gaming character had been made. In essence, it resembled him almost identically.
"Could it be that the game account is connected to private information of citizens by automatic facial recognition? Additionally, it's a little harsh that each character in the game only has one life and that all data is erased after death."
Today's video games frequently remove the death penalty to improve the gaming experience. But this game does exactly the opposite, making virtual life realistic. He will be left with nothing once the character drops dead.
" I guess I need to be more cautious. My apartment complex is an unusual one. I need to figure out how to leave as soon as possible ..."
His focus was still fixed on the attribute panel when a strange noise abruptly entered Han Fei's ears.
Han Fei was curled up on his bed like a cat, his brows squinted, wondering, "I'm the only one in this house, so what was that noise just now?"
Han Fei could definitely hear the noise despite it not being particularly loud because of how quiet it was in the dark.
Han Fei was gripping the kitchen knife firmly as his eyes, which had become used to the darkness, ran over every piece of furniture in the home.
The house was giving depressing vibes even though the home was organized and all the windows were tightly shut.
Han Fei first felt nothing, but after staying for a while, he felt his heart getting very uncomfortable.
"Could this room have been a crime scene? Was someone murdered here? The old couple told me to not be greedy. They thought I'm living here at a cheap rent. Generally speaking, the rent for such places is very low."

Because of his anxiety, Han Fei had already begun to think chaotically. The strange voice suddenly resurfaced.
Han Fei glanced at the dark living room from his bedroom while holding his breath. The furniture appeared to be all black and at immediate risk of moving on its own.
"Where the hell is that strange noise from?"
Han Fei darted his eyes back and forth before settling on the entrance to the bathroom.
His heart started to beat quicker, and his pupils dilated.
Ping!
Han Fei could easily see that the doorknob had turned.
"That's impossible! I checked everything while turning the lights off. Nobody was there!"
The air seemed to freeze, and Han Fei did not even dare to blink his eyes.
The inner handle would likewise spin when the door handle was turned from the outside.
"Granny told me to lock the bathroom door. Is it because he knows what's happened in this house?"
There was no trace of sleepiness in Han Fei's eyes. He hadn't been so focused even during his college entrance exams.
The time ticked away on the digital clock. The bedroom door doorknob shook once again at 2:44 a.m.
The activity outside the bedroom increased in volume and intensity. The bedroom door handle started to spin up and down continually in the middle of the empty room!
Click, Click, Click!
His nerves were tormented by the sound of the door lock jerking. The mop that was attached to the door handle had Han Fei fixated. It slipped down a little as the shaking got stronger. The bedroom door was swiftly pulled open to reveal space.
An unknown terror lurks in the pitch-blackness. The room immediately went quiet.
Five horrifying grey fingers stretched swiftly from the doorway. The mop that was attached to the door handle was taken by a thin arm.
'What's that?'
Han Fei's back was drenched with cold sweat, and his hands and feet were frozen. He was well aware that he was only playing a game. However, his body instantly signaled for him to quit the game.
The mop on the doorknob was taken off. The bedroom's previously closed door suddenly opened as though it had been blown open by the wind.
It appeared as though all that had just happened had been an illusion since there were no lights in the dark house and nothing was there.
The door reopened, but the shoe cabinet was still there and the creature didn't appear to have gotten inside yet.
While focusing solely on the shoe cabinet in front of the bedroom door, Han Fei strengthened his hold on the kitchen knife.
Han Fei was on high alert as cold sweat trickled down his face and his heartbeat raced, but there were no more unusual noises coming from the house.
"Is that creature still outside the bathroom?"
Subconsciously, Han Fei began to look around the living room from the open bedroom door. Han Fei could recall where each piece of furniture was located throughout the home. He focused on those vague, gloomy, black silhouettes.
His heart seemed to be violently grabbed as soon as his gaze landed on the sofa in the center of the living room—there was a dark shadow there!
"I remember that spot very well, and there is no furniture at all!"
Han Fei was playing the game to relax and get his joy back. Now that these interactions were beyond his expectations, he decided to stop playing them. He felt as though his heart might jump out of his throat.
Whatever it is, if I quit the game, everything will be back to normal.
Han Fei spotted the option to exit the game in the corner of the attribute panel after opening it. However, that option was disabled. Even after clicking it several times, a totally hopeless scenario emerged.
"Attention! Only when more than three hours have passed and at least one task has been finished will you able to exit the game."
The corners of Han Fei's eyelids twitched at the sound of that icy voice within his brain, and he nearly died instantaneously.
"Can't quit?"
The dark shadow that was earlier next to the sofa had unknowingly made it all the way to the bedroom door as Han Fei looked up again after the chilly negative energy had stirred his body.
As he looked carefully, he saw it wasn't a dark shadow at all! It was a human squatting on the floor!
