Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Do You Still Wish To Marry Me?

Italy.

Rome.

On the highest terrace of a glass-rimmed platform, soaring approximately a thousand and four sixty feet towering, sat three silhouettes on leaf chairs and toasting with a cheer. From such a height, if you were subtle derelict and fell, it was undeniably death.

"Time flies like a sprinter on a marathon and even the weather today is impassive, I have a feeling today is just right" Wei Qing raised the glass of wine to her lips and took a little sip, before putting it back down on the table. She giggled softly.

A woman, just an older version of her smiled blissfully "I agree, don't you think hubby?" Beside her, looking out of space, was her husband, Wei Fan.

Wei Qing looked at her father curiously as she pondered why he looked so solemn on his laptop. Did something happen?

Unable to uphold her inquisitiveness, she asked "Father, you look like you are about to drool"

"Qing, that's in no way to speak" Mo Yuyan scolded. Wei Qing nodded at her mother's words but still hoped her father would quench her lethal thirst.

Wei Fan caught his daughter's hot gaze on him. He was mulling over whether to reveal the news on his laptop to her or not. But since she was related, he sighed deeply and passed the laptop to her.

Wei Qing gaily received the laptop. She skimmed her brown eyes at the cover and the second she saw the appearance of the face, every ounce of happiness on her face disappeared. Rather, it overlapped with disbelief.

"Why are you silent like you have seen a ghost?" Mrs. Wei questioned and dropped her magazine. She exchanged a look with her husband and asked "Why are you mute? Did something bad happen?"

Suddenly Wei Qing snorted "She is back"

Confused, Mrs. Qing Inquired "Who?"

"My ex-best friend and your ex-soon-to-be daughter-in-law"

"What? When?" Mrs. Wei stood on her feet. She accused immediately "That siren!! Did she come back to ruin my son's life again? And that crazy nephew of mine"

"Mother, shouting is the least of our problems. Our biggest crisis here is what happens when my brother sees her. Father, mother...I think I should go back to China to prevent that from happening. I know you two must want to come but we are on a family vacation...you shouldn't worry grandfather and grandmother unnecessarily... I'll link you everything that transpires. I should book the earliest flight to China" Wei Qing acted calm, even when her heart was jittery.

"But, Yuze..." Mrs. Wei cried in despair for her son. He must have heard of the news. Her poor son must have awakened his expectancy.

Wei Fan stopped his wife, and embraced her "Qing is right, we shouldn't worry father and mother...and besides she will be there with him"

"I'll leave then," Wei Qing told. She packed up her belongings from the table and left the penthouse. Inside her car, she quickly searched for the latest trend on Weibo. Tears brimmed in her eyes when she saw the young refreshing face on the screen. She rested her head on the wheel and began crying painfully.

"Where were you? How could you do that to me? I was your best friend, you could have told me your troubles after all... Instead, you treated me like a stranger and hurt my brother. You will give me my answers"

She rubbed the tears with the back of her hand, tugged on the lever, and sped off.

...

China.

City F.

The city buzzed with netizens all around the street, as each of them carried a banner that inscribed "We still love you, Chun Hua"

Slowly by slowly, the airport dispersed their sight. Media and reporters had also gone back to their businesses. A few hours later, a black Mercedes Benz car drove towards the netizens' previous location.

"You are undoubtedly annoying, Yuze... You came all the way from a tiring work for what?? To feel her presence or to welcome her back home?" Han Yufan clicked his tongue in exasperation. He was mad at the foolish man for two reasons.

One: He executed all of the work without Yuze's aid, while, all he(Yuze) did was to conclude the conference. Back there felt like being in a temporary hell bound.

Two: He (Yuze) made him drive here for a woman who cared less about his feelings. How could a bride leave her wedding and elope with another man?

Wei Yuze divulged coldly "Keep your mouth shut...I'm trying to get her scent. I wonder if she still smells the same. Rose, mixed with caramel honey"

Han Yufan scoffed "You've turned me speechless... I mean you still remember how she smells...you give me the creeps. I am pulling away, as I don't want people thinking my boss is still longing for a married woman" which was true.

Wei Yuze never spoke a word again, after hearing "Married Woman"

She was now married to his cousin. And both have a daughter. Anger and discontent pammed his heart. But recollecting their past romance and letters, his heart became pacified.

"She must have a reason"

....

That night, at Wei Yuze's apartment. Due to family's marriage consistency, he departed the house he had purchased and dwelled in an apartment building which cost a million yuan, in one of the biggest estates in the City.

Again his insomnia disrupted his sleep. He went to the kitchen and drank two glasses of water. He sat on the counter where the utensils were put and ventured suddenly. The aloof expression he held on his face softened tremendously.

"I'll make you mine again, with or without your consent...if I have to wedge a war between Tiling and me, I'd do anything to have you by my side..."

Do you still wish to marry me?

Meanwhile, in the same neighborhood, a woman is seen through the light from the window as she was putting a little girl to sleep while she sang the child lullabies.

"Mama, I love you" The little girl confessed as her doe drowsy eyes sparkled.

"I love you too, princess" She kissed the girl on her forehead "Sleep and dream of Mama andPapaa"

After a few minutes, the girl was in a deep sleep. Chun Hua sighed and placed a hand on her chest as it was hurting so much. Her mother brutally threw her out of the house and even forbid the security from opening the gates to her.

"I only have you, Mianmian...you'll never leave me too, right?"

The little girl mumbled in her sleep.

Satisfied, she smiled "I'm living only for you"
