The next day, a black Porsche parked in front of Red mansion's gate. A guard approach the car and gently tapped the window. The window rolled down revealing the stern face of a young man who was frowning.
"The chairman sent us." The guy said in displeasure. He was obviously not in a good mood.
The guard saw the chairman's personal butler sitting quietly on the other seat. He guessed the chairman was there so he hurriedly signaled his companions to open the gate.
Charles immediately came out to greet the chief butler and secretary of the chairman. "Good afternoon secretary John, chief butler Nicholas. To what does Red mansion owe your sudden visit. " He greeted with a stiff smile.
He paid no attention to butler Charles' word and spoke calmly. "What a warm way of welcoming your elder anyways that is not why I'm here." He turned towards the car and at the same time the door of the car opened. A tall, handsome guy came out of the car and walked towards them. He was dressed in an all- black outfit. His dark ash hair was gelled backwards leaving a single strand resting on his forehead. He was wearing a black sunshade so no one could see the color of his eyes. He slowly made his way towards them.
"He is an esteemed guest of the chairman and will be staying here." Chief butler Nicholas said. Butler Charles frowned at his words. 'why didn't he stay at the main mansion ' he thought but didn't say anything as he pressed his lips into a thin line.
Nicholas understood his confusion but he was not in the position to explain anything. If they had any complaints they should tell it directly to the chairman, he was only doing his job. "Take Mr Luxston's luggage inside. Make sure you put it in the second master's bedroom. " He ordered the guards standing behind Charles.
"My mistress will not-"
"This is the chairman's order. If you have any complaints send it directly to the chairman." The chief butler said leaving no room for arguement.
Gavriel didn't comment on the matter as he was busy admiring the mansion and its unique color. 'Who paints a house red? Blood red to be precise.' His lips curve slightly as he stared at the house.
In one of the windows, two shadows stood watching the commotion happening down there but their gaze was focused on the guest of the house. One of the shadow had red eyes while the other had deep green eyes. Their instense stare wasn't missed by Gavriel. He casually glance at the window but it was empty. The shadows there had disappear. Something mysterious flashed in his eyes but no one notice it because of his dark sunshades.
"Mr Luxston, please. " Chief butler led him inside the scary-looking mansion. Unlike the exterior setting which looked ominous, the inside of the mansion looks... normal and gave a homely vibe. The house was brightly lit and the furniture inside was minimal but definitely expensive. The decoration was done in a simple and elegant way. There was a grand staircase in the large sitting room and an elevator at the other side.
"Miss Ava is still sleeping so make yourself comfortable. Charles make sure you serve Mr Luxston well. " Nicholas said to butler Charles before turning to face Gavriel. "I'd take your leave. Excuse me." He bowed then walk towards the exit. The young man who followed him didn't move. He stood still staring at Gavriel with a complicated expression.
"Let's go Jack." Chief butler Nicholas called when he noticed that he wasn't following him.
Jack didn't respond. He kept staring at Gavriel who had already made himself comfortable on a sofa.
"Go ahead without me." Jack said without looking at him. "I'll call the chairman. " He said when he noticed that the chief butler was still gazing at him. Nicholas internally shook his head at the young man's stubbornness then he left.
After the chief butler exit, butler Charles slowly approached the quiet man. "Sir what would like to the cook to prepare for your lunch." He asked politely. Though he still wasn't comfortable having this strange man in the house, he was in no position to say anything. Plus the young man was sent by the chairman himself which meant he means no harm.
"Show me to my room instead." He finally said after a minute of silence as he stared at Charles.
"Okay sir." Charles didn't hesitate and immediately brought Gavriel to his assigned room.
They stood in front of a black mahogany door with french carvings on it as butler Charles brought a the key to the room and opened it.
"If you need anything sir there is an intercom on the small stool beside your bed." Charles said as he led Gavriel inside the large and spacious room
"Hm." Gavriel hummed in response as he walked around the room. It was a comfortable setting and the decor of the room had a masculine touch to it.
"The young miss had the room designed like this for any unexpected cri.. event." Butler Charles explained when he felt Gavriel's curiousity about the room's decor.
"Hm?" Gavriel raised a brow in amusement but said nothing. A smile threatened his lips.
Seeing that his presence was not needed, butler Charles excused himself. "If you would excuse me sir, I have other things that needs my attention. " He bowed before stepping out of the room.
"Wait." Gavriel's deep voice stopped him. There was something about him that made one submit to him willingly or not.
"Is something wrong sir? Is the room not to your liking?" Butler Charles asked with a slight frown.
"No!" The no came out sharp and firm confusing Charles. He was about to say something but Gavriel cut him off.
"Whenever Ava wake up, let me know." Then he dismissed the confused Charles.
