Both Charles and Mirror replied at the same time. Ava's lips quirk up in wonder. "Charlie, your eagerness to save the man make me wonder if you are part of the show. "
"No young miss but you can't go about killing anyone. "
" Do you see me running around?" Ava snorted. " And if I remember correctly this.. " She pointed at a screen that showed the whole estate. "Is my property and anyone who I didn't invite is an intruder. " She emphasize on the anyone. Charles couldn't refute Ava's words, so he kept quiet. Ava was right, the whole estate and it's surroundings belonged to her but still.
"Pest detected. " Mirror said.
"Exterminate it. " Ava order nonchalantly.
"Yes ma'am. "
"Wait!"
"What is it Charlie? " The amusement in her eyes had disappeared as Charles kept interfering with her orders.
"Why don't you try speaking with the young man. I'm sure he will clear up everything. " Charles persuade her for the last time. If she ignores him, then there is nothing he can do to save that young man's life.
"What do you think? " Ava asked Mirror.
"It won't hurt to try. " Mirror replied. On hearing Mirror's reply Charles sigh in relief.
"I'd go get the man." Charles said as he quickly rushed outside, walking as fast as his old limbs could carry him. Ava is a very fickle person so he had to hurry before she changed her mind.
Gavriel was busy with a business call with Alvin and Seth when he heard a knock on the door. The knock came again but this time with more urgency.
"Young master please come open the door, it's urgent." Charles spoke .
"Who is that? " Seth asked.
" The butler... I'll call you back. " Gavriel ended the call before going to the door. He opened the door and saw Charles standing there calmly but there was a silver of panic in his eyes. "What is it?" He asked.
"Come with me." Charles said as he walked away. Gavriel stared at the old man before he followed him. They arrived at the study in a flash. "Young miss, he is here." Charles then led him inside the study.
Gavriel stood facing Ava while Charles was besides her. The tension was so thick that a knife could cut through it but it didn't seem to bother him at all.
"Mr Luxston, please state your true purpose of coming here. " Charles said to Gavriel.
"Was she planning to kill me ?" Gavriel asked Charles who was surprised that he could guess the issue so accurately. Since he said there was no need to cover it up.
"Yes, Mr Luxston, so I advice you to speak the truth. " before her patience runs out. He said the last part in his mind.
"And if I don't. " He asked Charles still maintaining eye contact with Ava.
"Not useful."
"Oh! " Gavriel chuckled. "How can you be so sure? Hm? " He asked with a raised brow.
"Why are you here? " Ava asked instead.
'Now she's talking. ' Gavriel smiled. "To propose a deal. "
"Not interested. "
"I haven't said anything yet. "
"Don't care. "
"Are you sure. "
"Yes. "
Gavriel stared at Ava as he relaxed on his seat, wondering what goes on in her pretty little head. She was the one to ask then she says she doesn't care about it.
"I won't force you to listen to what I have to say. " He gave in. "..but I would still stay here so whenever you change your mind I'd be close by. " He smiled when he saw a change of expression on her face, it wasn't obvious but it was there and he saw it. It was impressive and she would definitely survive in his world if he decides to drag her in it.
"You won't stay here. " Ava said firmly.
'It's cute when she tried to act cold. ' She maybe cold and ruthless to other people but to him she was just a cute little bunny trying to act fierce.
