"My house my rules. "
Gavriel was amused by Ava's reply. He brought out his phone and typed something on it and in the next minute they heard a notification tone. It came from Ava's phone but she ignored it and continued staring at Gavriel. Charles was the one to pick up the phone and opened it thinking it was from Chairman Lee.
His brows scrunched up when he saw the message. " It's an alert of one million USD... from Mr Luxston. " Charles said as he stared at Gavriel who was smiling at them. Both Charles and Ava stared at him in question.
"It's my rent for this month. " Gavriel replied to their questioning gaze while Charles looked at him as if he has already lost it.
'Why would you pay for rent when you haven't even recieve permission to stay. ' Charles thought as he looked at the two people who were intensely staring at each other.
Gavriel stood ready to leave. "It was nice talking to you again Ava. See you tomorrow. " He said as he left the room before Ava would say anything but he doubt that. He had negotiated with the second thing she loves most, money. He was sure that it won't be long before Ava recognize him.
"Young miss, what are you going to do with the money? " Charles asked as soon as Gavriel left the room.
"Keep it obviously. " Mirror replied.
"But- "
"Mirror " Ava called the AI silencing whatever arguement that was about to break out.
"On it mi'lady. " Mirror was already aware of what Ava wants her to do.
Charles also had an inkling of what Ava was thinking. "You think you guys have met before." It was more of a statement than a question.
" Hmm. "
" That would only be possible if you guys attend the same party, right? " Charles said.
" You are not wrong old man. They surely must have met at a party but the last party Ava made appearance at was five years ago at the golden moons. "
"Did you find anything. " Ava asked.
"No ma'am. Nothing at all. " Mirror replied. This the first time she wasn't able to get information regarding her boss and the people she associated with, not like she talked to many people at all.
"Did you check the years before and after? " Charles asked.
"Yes I did. It's not as if boss went to all the party she was invited to. " Mirror replied. Even Charles could not deny that. Ava was not a fan of crowded places, so must of the invite given to her were either rejected or someone went in her place.
"I also checked all parties boss was represented but there is nothing there at all. "
Ava was quiet through out the discussion. ' Of course she won't find anything. That bastard made sure not to leave any trails behind. ' She heard a voice from her subconscious mind. She stood up from her seat and walked towards the door that connects her room to her study.
" Go and sleep Charlie. If Rue comes, tell her we would see tommorow. " Ava said as she left the study.
"Okay. Sleep well my dear. " Charles said.
Ava didn't respond as she entered her room. Her bedroom was very spacious and all the walls even the ceiling was made of glass, not ordinary glass but bulletproof glass. Having stayed in an enclosed space almost half of her life, Ava wasn't fond of closed space like buildings with walls.
She sat in a reclining chair in front of the a glass-wall and stared into the darkness outside. Her mind was buzzing with different thoughts and scenario as she tried to figure out where and how she met Gavriel. The man was somewhat casual with her that she couldn't shake off the feeling that they knew each other in the past.
The more she pushed her brain to remember the more painful her headache becomes. The memory was buried somewhere in her subconsciousness and something was preventing her from remembering it.
Stop pushing yourself Ava, it will come to you on its own.
