Ava blended herself into the shadows as she moved with the direction of the wind. The wind were like music in her ears. She stopped walking a meter away from a luxurious mansion.
"It seems not everyone is asleep." Ava muttered as she stared at the mansion not far from where she stood. On the outside it looks like the people living there has gone to bed but that was not really the case. People might think it is just an ordinary house that people live in. Of course it is an ordinary house but whatever was going on in there was not normal and Ava loves abnormal things. She walked towards the gate to enter but was stopped by the guards.
"I'm sorry little girl but you can't enter." One the guards said. He had a bigger muscles than his companion and was really tall. So when he looked down at Ava, she looked really small which wasn't far from the truth.
Ava tilted her head. "Little girl.." Her lips twisted in distaste at the name. Two second after, the two lay on the floor unconscious. "Stupid called me little." She clicked her tongue as she walked inside.
Ava didn't enter the mansion immediately instead she leisurely walked around the compound as if she owns the place. Every corner she walked by, a body or two lay unconscious. Ava finally stopped at the garden admiring the flowers and plants that were planted there. She entered the garden to 'get a better view' of it. She stood under an apple tree watching two men trying to bury a body. Ava made herself comfortable on the tree with an apple in her hand as she watched them.
The men were obviously new recruits considering the rookie work they were doing. "If you guys are burying a body do it right." Ava said. Her voice wasn't loud but she was sure that they heard her.
"What was that?" The first guy asked his companion.
"I.. I don't know...?" The other guy replied. They looked around to see who spoke but they didn't see anyone.
"Hey! Up here." Ava waved at them when they finally saw her on the apple tree. The men were shocked.
"How did she get up there?" The other guy who looked younger than the first one asked.
"Idiot. That is not the question you should be asking. We need to figure out how she got inside the building in the first place. " The first guy said in panic. This little girl saw them burying the body so they had to take care of her before their boss or anyone find out.
"Little girl come down now so you won't get yourself injured." He tried coaxing Ava.
"What is your name?" Ava asked with a playful smile on her lips as she watched the guy approach her.
"Um.. John... I don't think that's a great idea." The other guy warned.
"Oh! Shut up Abel. What can she do? She's just a little-" John suddenly stopped talking. His body stilled and his brain was unable to comprehend anything. He fell on the floor lifeless, his eyes was wide with different emotions but unfortunately he can't ever sort them out, ever.
"John!" Abel whisper yelled in shock. He couldn't comprehend what just happened.
"Is that his name." Ava said. She was suddenly behind Abel who was still standing in front of the grave. The poor boy shrieked in fright. He stared at his friend's body that was not moving before looking at Ava who was suddenly next him.
"Don't shout. I hate noise." Ava said as she squatted in front of the grave. Her hands reach out to hold the fingers that were sticking out slightly. "Who is she?" Ava asked the frightened boy who staring at with horror in his eyes. A yellow liquid trickle down his pants.
She raised her brows in question. "Speak." She spoke coldly when she saw the hesitation in the boy's eye.
"She...she.. boss... is... ...the.. gi..girlfriend." Abel was too scared to form a complete speech. His clothes was already soaked in sweat.
"Speak or die." Something in Ava's eye told him she wasn't joking. So he summoned up courage to talk without stuttering much.
"She's... she's um.. works for the boss." Abel said.
"Oh!" Ava remarked casually. "Worked. What-" She stopped speaking when something came in her line of vision. It was a boney hand that was inching towards the grave in front of her. "What are you doing? "
Abel was frightened as he stared at Ava with wide eyes. "I.. I didn't do anything. " He said in a frightened voice while shaking his head.
"I asked you." Ava narrowed her eyes at something or rather at someone making Abel confuse. 'Who is she talking to again. ' He said in distress.
"What do you mean. I'm only doing my job. I should be the one asking that." A scratchy and hoarse voice that belongs to a grim reaper asked. Ava didn't say anything instead she turned to Abel.
"Dig the body out." Her words stunned the people there.
"What?!" The grim reaper and Abel said simultaneously.
"That's crazy. Why do you want to disturb the dead." The grim reaper said.
"Shut up reaper or you will be next." Ava's reply made Abel freeze in fear. Did he hear right.
"Re...reaper? Reaper as in grim reapers? " Abel asked in a shaky voice.
Hearing the fear in his voice made Ava smile a little. "Hm. They are here for you and your friends. " She hummed. Abel's knees could not support his body as he fell on the floor. Just what had he gotten himself in. He only wanted to work and earn money and today was his first night.
"Start digging. Be done before I come back." Ava said as she stood up and dusted her clothes. "Assist him." She said to the grim reaper before walking away.
"No way girl. I am Miles the fifth grim reaper of hell. There's no way in hell I'm doing that." The grim reaper named Miles spoke with arrogance as he fold his hands across his chest.
Ava didn't stop walking when she heard the reaper's words. "Try me." She said before walking out of the garden.
"Hmph just watch me then." Miles said glaring at the empty space where Ava was standing.
