Two days after the event, a shocking news awoke the whole of LA. The three hegemons of LA had all been wiped out in a single night. The details were not clear as to who did it but it was enough to put the city in turmoil. The news was trending on all social media outlets so almost every one had heard of it except for a certain someone who was still sleeping peacefully. The FBI refused to give any more information about the cause of the deaths. They were tight lipped about the matter. It was clear that no one wanted to get involved with whatever caused those families destruction.
Some family saw it as an opportunity to raise their status as they started making plans to encroach the properties left behind by each ruined family. While those who were present during the launch-out event understood that it was the work of MRC's chairlady. The Greggs, the Boyles and the Endersons all stood against the Lee family while defending the Turners, that was why this misfortune befell on them and their families. They shook in trepidation as they imagined what would have happened if they had gotten themselves involved.
In the Turners' residence...
Elder Turner sat in his study with his eldest son, who was with him that night. He had also heard of the news and couldn't help but be restless and scared. Those families destroyed only stood up for him and gave their supports to the Turners. But what happened, they were destroyed in one night , two days after the event while he and his family were alive and their business was thriving well. Who wouldn't be scared and wary. He was the cause yet he was not harmed. He sat in silence contemplating on what to do. Should he go and apologize or he should send his family away from this city to some where safe. The question now was, which place is the safest. The Lees connection were vast and wide, he didn't think any where was safe. He was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't realize his son was calling him.
" Dad.... dad !! dad !! Are you okay? " Victor asked while looking at his father's tired face. He was the eldest child of Stephen Turner. Victor was thirty-two and married with a son. He was the most favored child because of how intelligent and cunning he was. He is also the next successor of the Turners.
Stephen shook his head. " I am anything but okay son, what are we going to do about this problem? " He asked his son who was his most trusted confidant. " I fear we will be next. " He revealed what was troubling him the most.
Victor sighed at his father's question. He could tell his father was really worried about the issue. " Dad i know you are worried but I can assure you that nothing will happen. " He said while Stephen stared at like he was crazy.
" Nothing will happen.... " Stephen repeated in anger. " Are you stupid or what? Haven't you heard what happened. Those families were powerful, influencial and wealthy people with strong connections but what happened, tell me what happened. Wait I'll tell you, they were destroyed in one night, two days after the event yet you are saying that everything will be alright. ARE YOU INSANE!!! " He yelled at his son. Ever since he saw the news, he had been on his toes. He tightened the security around the family villa and even went as far as ordering the members of the family not to step out of the house yet his son was saying that nothing will happen to them.
Victor looked calm even after his father's ranting. He stood up to pour his father a glass of water before giving it to him to drink. Stephen took the cup from his hands and gulped its content in one go. " Father you should be careful with your health. " He said as he poured more water into the cup. " If I say we would be safe and secured won't you ask me why I said so. " Victor asked while looking at his father with a composed expression.
Stephen shook his head and sneered. " No I don't want to know because not matter what you say I still won't be assured that that Rue Yang won't come after our family. " He said before drinking the water. Victor smiled at his father. " See that's where you are wrong. What if I can assure you that there is a way to avoid Rue Yang's attack. " He stared at his father who was looking back at him. Stephen stared at his son who was still looking composed.
" Okay tell me about it since you are so insisting , what way are you talking about. " He asked if his son was this sure that means there is still hope. But he didn't dare raise his hopes high. Victor smiled at his father and without wasting time he started explaining what had made him confident. " After we left the program, I got a call from an unknown mumber probably a burner phone. " He said but Stephen was too impatient, so he urged him on. " The person told me that the Endersons, the Greggs and the Boyles would face a big catastrophe and when that happens, I should try all my possible best to encroach as many properties and businesses that was left behind. At first I didn't believe it and doubt the person but after hearing the news today , I didn't doubt that person again. He also promised to help us if we ever needed any assistance provided we do as we were told. "
Stephen was in deep thought after listening to Victor's explanation. " Are you sure we can trust those people? " He asked and Victor nod his head. " I am hundred percent sure dad. " He confirm. Stephen sighed again. He decided to trust his son's decision as Victor had never let him down. " So what are you doing about it. "
" Don't worry, I have started working on it. If everything goes as planned, we might be the next hegemons of LA. " Victor said with a satisfied smirk.
" Alright, I'm trusting you again, don't let me down and always be alert. " Stephen said.
" Yes dad don't worry. I won't let you down. "
