The day was climatically the same as the others,smoky and dry. A few decorations in the house made it perfect for the three.
"Did you invite anyone,or we are going to celebrate only the three of us?"Vincent, Glen's father asked.Glen had no answer for this,he remembers he went to every single house in the village and they all said they were busy,'Busy gossiping around that's the best they do each day,'Glen thought but couldn't say this to his dad.He didn't want to ruin the day,but there was one person who was available,"Am I late?"a boy busted into the house with a large smile."At Least you ain't late for the cake,"Glen replied as he hugged his friend.
Sam,is someone who was always there for Glen since their childhood.They defended each other from pumpkin headed bullies that are always there to pop their day's bubbles.Glen also remembers the days where he couldn't speak to girls but Sam was always there to cheer him up giving him the guts to speak,even though none of the ladies showed interest on him.
"Is there not anyone else who is coming?"Kate,his mother asked with a concerned voice."We don't need them,they are not showing up,"Glen replied,"Let's get this started."Kate was inclined to this, but,what can she do?.She can't force the people to attend.
The party of four went well and it was time to shower the birthday boy with gifts.The first one to give away was Sam.He delved into his pocket and pulled out a small cloth with the shape of a bottle."What's this ..."Glen thought as he took the item on his hands.On removing the cloth,he noticed it was a clear bottle with an orange liquid in it .Sam approached Glen by the ear,"You see,I thought that the reason why girls show no interest in you is maybe because of your scent,this is a perfume,"Sam whispered as he retreated away to avoid a friendly punch that was swung to his face.They both smiled.Glen placed it in his trusty leather bag.Second was his mom,"I know you don't know how to use it,but I think it's safe to keep it,"she handed him a large white sword.Glen starred at it,this is because he knew what this was.It was a sword that belonged to the mighty ex-knights of Flat Kingdom.The swords were given to them as an honour from the king for their services.And his mom is one of them.
"Thanks mom,"Glen said as he hugged the woman.His dad now approached him with a covered item in his hands."Is it another perfume?If it is,it must be a bigger one,"Glen said but his dad didn't reply.He instead gave it to Glen with a smile.Glen took it as he hesitating a bit,but ended up uncovering it too.His eyes widened as he saw the pair on his hands,this is what he always dreamed for.And best of all,it is from someone he loves,his dad. It was a pair of Gauntlets.
