The rays from the sun would burn the skin of a human at a time like this.Most of the people were under the shadows of their stalls and houses.But not for the two.They stood opposite each other,hands held out.It seemed like an epic battle like those in fantasies was about to erupt.This had caught the attention of some people making them stop what they were doing and watch.
Glen had worn his purple gauntlets with his sword on his back as he wasn't sure of using it.He remembered what happened last time he used it.Sam on the other hand,had a long rope on his hands.It did not look like it would do anything,but Sam was sure it would as he increased his tight grip on it.
He was the first to attack as he swung the rope with all his might then like a whip,he struck downwards towards Glen.Glen hardly rolled out of the way as he dashed towards his opponent.He clenched his gauntlet fist throwing it to Sam's face.With his high rope skills,he move to the side,swung it tying the fist stopping it.Seeing this, Glen made a claw with his other hand as he cut down the rope freeing his hand.The gauntlets' fingers were sharp.
The onlookers were annoyed by the slow movements the two made.They just saw this as a simple fight.Completely opposite of their expectations.
"These two would be level ones if they were to be recruited as knights,"a female smirked as she fried beacons on the side of the open ground.
"Yah, they must be from those poor villages,"another said as she assisted her friend to cook.
These words were loud enough for Glen to here as they slowed him down.Sam threw a round house kick hitting Glen right on his guts making him fall face first on the brick floor.The spin force was enough to even make Sam fall on his back next to Glen.
"Did you hear what she just said?"Glen groaned in pain as he mumbled.
"Yes I did,but the right reaction is to ignore due to how weak we are,"Sam replied,"Am not even sure if we could take on a kid from around here".
They both didn't like this at all.But just as Sam said,there is nothing that they could do about it.Sam was first to get on his feets, assisted his friend from the ground who still seemed to be in pain,and beat the dirt off them.Glen knew that he had failed the challenge but did not let that affect their friendship.The onlookers just stared at them while they gossiped of how such a weak battle it was.This could be the week's hot news.They are used to epic battles like knight against knight or knights against demons.This was unknown to both Sam and Glen.They only heard of demons but never saw one.
They continued with their mission.They only walked a few meters and they were there.Glen could remember the directions clearly.Infront of them was a small house with a huge axe on top of it.They entered the place and they could see different kinds of weapons that they had never even seen in their life.It was a weapon store.
Something caught Sam's attention.He approached the glass wall as he glared at the objects inside.Surely he would love to have them but he knew he couldn't.He could see writings at the bottom half of the glass '50 000 GOLD COINS '.This almost made him cry.The only money they had were silver coins.If it was gold coins,he would even risk for them to sleep outside but get this pair of weapons.He had none right now as his rope was ruined by Glen.
"You are not allowed to stare at anything here if you can't afford it,"a heavy voice spoke right behind him.
He quickly turned and had to raise his face upwards inorder to see who it was."Your friend is waiting for you outside".Sam did not know how long he took to stare at the items but that was not important right now,"C-c-can I have these and I'll pay you later?"Sam stammered,"I promise". sweat was starting to escape from him as he couldn't even see the person's face due to how short and close he was to the person.All he saw was the man's beared.The man bent his head revealing his scary face to Sam.It was enough to tell Sam that he should leave.

Outside he found Glen standing next to two knights.This had turned his frown to shock,'What did he do?"he thought."Is this him?"the Knight on Glen's left side asked."Yes, it's him,"Glen replied.He did not seem happy and made Sam more worried.
"We will escort the two of you to the palace's knight Academy for recruitment.Due to the threat of more demon attacks,you don't have time to tell your parents goodbye.There is more of teenagers to recruit,so don't waste time,"the Knight on the right said,"Everyone is informed about this, don't worry about your family worrying about you.Even the villages know of this".It was so dreadful for the two.
