Yui turned to his right, he was now right in front of his house. Although before entering his house, the keys on his hands he looked towards the house that where that girl lived. He didn't know she was this close to his house.
Maybe they could talk? That's impossible, with his self-esteem. He though bitterly before averting his gaze towards his door and opening it. He was greeted by silence.
It was normal like this. His parents died in a car crash, and he never expected to come back again. He can't even cook, so he always relied on ordering food to eat. He then grabbed his phone, from the table right beside him and pressed the power button.
And the first thing he saw was a girl having a selfie with her own man. What a flex. He started to scroll down more, only looking at with lifeless eyes. But deep inside he kind of wonders, how would life be if she just... stayed?
His mind flashed towards a girl with midnight hair, sky-blue eyes and a beautiful smile. He knows it wasn't her fault, because he knew he was simply incompetent. He knew that there was nothing he could do. He knew that.
But... it still hurts. It hurt more than just getting stabbed in the heart. Yui looked down at the ground, lifeless and boring eyes stared at the ground, and his whole figure screamed loneliness. His whole life had been like this.
Daydreaming about a woman that will never come back, a woman that never even loved him from the start. She used him. So he really wants to know, what type of future would he have if that girl truly loved him.
To him she was like the sun and he was just staring at her, but that what makes it so tragic. All he can do is stare and no matter how much effort he does, nothing will change.
And then after that, she decided to stop, this effortless and tragic relationship that Yui wanted to never end. Because he wanted to be loved.
Ever since then, he had always been afraid to take on relationships, which explains his wimpy attitude when it comes to locking eyes with other people.
He still remembers those words clearly, she said it without remorse, killing his self-esteem and made his eyes turn into a waterfall. Nothing ever goes right in this world. Maybe, he had already accepted that from the start.
Maybe he also truly wanted to end that trance...
Yui's eyes still looked cold and lifeless towards the ground, watching his phone close because of idleness while he placed it right beside him, on the couch. And then a crystal clear drop of tear fell, his eyes was wet but his expression didn't change.
He suddenly realized what he was doing before looking forward and rubbing his eyes, getting rid of the tears in his eyes. He stood up and then went upstairs. The city was nearby so he could always see the city whenever he gazes on his window.
It was night, the city lights covered the city. But it was lonely here. He can't help but want the sudden feeling to take a walk.
...
He left his house looking at the dark street with only street lamps illuminating it, but it didn't scare him. Then suddenly a figure emerged from the dark, it was the same girl he met on the street while walking around the city.
They locked eyes into each other, but this time time didn't stop for them. Rather they both stopped walking, and stared into each other's eyes. Before averting their gaze at the ground. They walked past each other...
But, for Yui it felt like he wanted the urge for her to stay, for them to talk. Despite his self-esteem, his whole body was screamed for her to stay... And before he knew it, he turned around only to see the girl also looking at him, turning around.
""Wai-"" They both said, at the same time...
"Who... are you?" Frozen with awkwardness, they couldn't talk for a second before the girl finally broke the ice.
"Yui... how about you?"
"Hotsuya."
True, they have only met each other, but they couldn't help but smile into each other's eyes...
