Yui woke up, remembering what happened the other day. Yes, Hotsuya took him out. In the end they walked together home, and then said their goodbyes.
Yui wondered though would she be walking again this morning. A part of him wishes so, for some reason, he can't help but enjoy her company. Her simple talks always turns out interesting. Her jokes that wouldn't usually be funny to him, made him make a small smile.
Yui opened the door and left his room, while looking at the window, with a blank gaze his face made no expression making him look like a puppet. The sense of loneliness that he was accustomed to suddenly now choked him.
Maybe it was because he got used to Hotsuya's company for such a short time. Yui looked at his right leg, the leg that had the Achilles tendon severed. His face made a sad look at it.
He opened the door outside of his house, preparing for a small walk. Even after truly injuring it, his mind still wishes for it to recover. The one ability that you have spent your life mastering on was simply just taken away from you like that.
The despair Yui felt when he had lost it felt like it was getting pierced by thousands spears, while being alive to feel said spears thrusting your body. He had tried to move on, but even to this now, it has choked him.
He started to walk around only to see a familiar figure once more in the distance. Her face looked at Yui with a small smile before quickly approaching him. "Yui!" She stopped right in front of him making a smile.
"Good morning, Hotsuya-san." Hotsuya frowned hearing the 'san'
"Hotsuya... Just call me Hotsuya." Yui tiled his head a bit looking at Hotsuya's frown. He nodded.
"Hotsuya..." Yui said and Hotsuya made a smile.
"Now that's more like it." Hotsuya said before looking at him. "So is there anything that you're doing?"
"I don't have anything to do, I planned to just walk." Yui said looking at Hotsuya's relieved eyes after he said that. Why though?
"Well, you know... we could hang out maybe?" She said fiddling with her fingers averting her eyes towards the ground a bit. Yui looked at her face a bit before making a small smile.
Hotsuya looked up to see Yui's small smile, his smile tugged her heart, his smile was absolutely ethereal. She could feel her cheeks warm up a bit, before she couldn't help but smile.
"Sure."
...
Yui had heard the voices of thousands of people, but nobody really matched up to the silky voice that Hotsuya had. Personally to him, it was attractive. He looked at Hotsuya humming a small lullaby while walking around.
They decided to go to the nearest mall and started to roam around, buying snacks along the way. Somebody even mistook them for a couple. And yes, Yui's energy really can't catch up to Hotsuya's energy.
Hotsuya's carefree attitude and mesmerizing smile had thousands of people looking at her, while he kept on being invisible to their eyes. He wasn't complaining, but her playful attitude felt so... fake.
Yui can tell a lie when he sees it, a liar. Maybe it was for her reputation, as she can't truly reveal her gloomy figure. Thousands of people have done it, using a mask to cover up their true emotions and feelings just to save their reputation in the society.
Yui wasn't someone that usually involves himself in this type of problems but he had to confront her about this.
While they were going home, shopping bags on Yui's hands that wasn't his, well the grocery bag was his...
Anyways back on to the topic, while the sun was now going down and the moon was now rising Yui stopped walking. Which made Hotsuya make a confused stare, she looked at him before he spoke.
"You're... lying aren't you."
Hotsuya widened her eyes immediately, he can't possibly know right? Right? No, she doesn't want to be alone again, just no. "W-what do you mean?" Her voice unnaturally got high-pitched her voice breaking and stuttered.
"I meant your attitude." Yui looked back, cold and bored eyes dug deep into Hotsuya's heart. she felt like her blood froze for a seconds there.
"I-I..." She tried to speak but no words came out, she looked to the ground once more, her hair covering her eyes. She felt tears threatening to come out of he mouth, after a few seconds she felt something touch her head.
A soft palm coming from Yui's hand. "I'm not forcing you or anything... but I just want you to be a little bit more honest with me. Even just a bit."
"Mmm..." She said nothing but a small little sound came out from her mouth.
"?" Yui looked at her before she got closer and held his hoodie.
"You're not going to leave me?" She said while her body was shaking. Emotions swirled inside of her body, she couldn't describe the feeling, but to her it wasn't a bad thing...
"I don't think I will." Yui said unsurely which made Hotsuya pout.
"You were supposed to say "Never".. Idiot."
"Really? Sounds like a line in a shoujo manga."
"It is..."
"Are you serious right now?"
