'Let's just try my first idea first, after all I would only benefit if I was already able to enter the dimension where I will have to build my defences sooner or later anyways.'
After concentrating for a bit Julius was surprised to actually find himself in a seemingly endless white expanse. Looking around he actually saw a big metal gate just floating or standing there. In this white expanse a floor, walls or, well, anything just seemingly didn't exist.
'This seems familiar, doesn't this look a bit like the gate of Truth in a certain anime about two brothers? But why would something like this be here? I'm not even an alchemist in the world of Harry Potter yet!'
After looking closer at the gate he finally noticed something different: On the gate's smooth surface there was something else than the thing in a certain anime. Engraved on it stood "Infinitium per Mortem". Even though Julius had never really learned latin before, he could still guess it to be something about infinity and death.
Now curious he finally decided to put his hand on the gate to try and open it, what else was there to do in this white expanse.
When Julius' hand touched the gate it began to slowly open without making any sound, revealing a darkness behind it which seemed to swallow all light. Not that there was any visible light source in this endless white expanse.
Julius was still hesitating if he should take the risk and enter the darkness, but after a few seconds of pondering he still decided to do it. After all there shouldn't be anything hurtful to him in his own mind.
After entering the darkness suddenly found himself inside a seemingly endless expanse once again. Only this time it wasn't white but everything was dark only lighted up by a few bands of silver-coloured light, floating around a small blue crystal.
After inspecting the bands of light Julius noticed familiar-looking images forming from it.
'Those should be my memories then, but why is it like this? And what is this crystal? Let's just try to get a reaction out of it like with the gate.'
Walking up to the crystal and putting a hand on it Julius noticed the light of the crystal growing slightly stronger and the feeling of something getting sucked out of him through his palm, producing a cool feeling on it.
'Could that be magic? And why is my other hand itching suddenly? Maybe I should put my other hand on the crystal too.'
After placing both of his hands on the crystal something happened. To be exact after what he assumed to be magic flowing through his other palm too the crystal started to glow extremely bright, blinding Julius and forcing him to squint his eyes.
Glancing through the small gap he left open Julius could see a ripple going outward from the crystal and phasing through him and and the silver lights without affecting them visibly. After the ripple disappeared in the distance the glow of the crystal started to dim until it became exactly as it was before again. Even Julius magic seemed to become still again though leaving him with a slight feeling of coolness permeating his body before slowly fading away.
'What now? From the novels I read in my past life this ripple probably informed someone or something of my existence. The question is only if it is good or bad and what I can do about it.'
Suddenly a figure started to form on the air above the crystal, showing a man, seemingly in his fifties, from his hips upward.
The man seemed surprised and when he looked at Julius his eyes immediately widened.
"Young master? What are you doing here? Why would you already practice occlumency at this age?"
Julius was stunned:
'Young master? And what even… stop. I have to stop thinking and try to converse while hopefully getting the information I want.'
"Who are you? And what is all this?"
At his words the old man seemed to calm down apruptly, straightening his tie (he wore an elegant suit) and clearing his throat.
"My name is George Williams, I am the butler of the most noble Abraxus family. And this is a part of your heirloom."
"What is the Abraxus family? And what do you mean when you say it's my heirloom?"
As he still didn't completely trust this old guy who just appeared in his fucking mind Julius decided to play dumb at first, also hoping for him to explain a bit more about those things he just briefly mentioned.
"You do not know about you family? THE ONLY HEIR OF THE MOST NOBLE ABRAXUS FAMILY DOES NOT KNOW OF HIS OWN ORIGINS?"
The old man was looking extremely angry if the vein which just emerged on his forehead was an indication. Calming down a little he continued, still seeming angry enough though to come to the Greengrass family's mansion and kill Florian immediately.
'That wouldn't even be this bad. Even I when I was a little child without my memories noticed how mother was in a bad condition almost constantly. And my little sister will also probably have it quite hard under him if nothing happens.'
"You Julius, are the last remaining member of the most noble and ancient house of Abraxus. And this here is what every single one of its heirs automatically inherits: Practically a safe for all of your memories and also the knowledge about the family's unique magic, but more about all of that later, now we have to talk about how to proceed young master. How about you tell me, or even better, show me, how you've been treated for now. I am not quite sure yet if I should just take you with me despite my… let's say difficult situation right now."
"Okay let's say I believe you with anything else, but what about this "unique magic"?"
"Well, to be exact the term "unique magic" is actually quite misleading, after all everyone else can use it to if they're taught, but it will have a price. For everyone other than those with the family from which the magic originated. For example the Black family actually has the unique magic of what most would call dark magic today. Well, only those who know a bit about it to be exact. After all right now most wizards and witches would see any harmful spell which seems to "evil" for them and call it dark magic. Also just so you know, not all magic was originally a "unique magic", most magic is just normal magic everyone can use but then there are certain advanced spells or even branches which can be categorised as originating from a magic family. Though most of those can already be considered lost magic, like for example the magic of the Dumbledore family. They don't remember their own magic anymore, only subconsciously using it to summon phoenixes in great need. But I think I talk a bit to much don't I?"
"So what you're saying is the madness which comes with the extensive use of dark magic is a side-effect because of it's origin? But what about Bellatrix Lestrange then? She is a descendant of the Black family after all."
"It seems you don't know much about Miss Black do you young master? Her madness was a result of extensive inbreeding of the Black family, it was revealed just this year when Miss Black, formerly Lestrange was examined in St. Mungo and her illness was healed. But to come back to your original question: Yes, the madness most experience after extensive use of dark magic originated in fact from this."
'Now that is interesting, and also a big bonus for me; after all I posses three bloodlines of old pureblood families with one of them being the Black family. And this also probably means I can trust this guy, after all he shared all of this information with me. But wait! I overlooked the most important part right now! He said Bellatrix Lestrange was cured! Doesn't that mean this is definitely an au? After all I couldn't possibly have caused such a big butterfly effect without having my memories while being a child which has also never been out of the family mansion?'
'The only question now is if this is good or bad, well, and how much changed obviously:'
