Julius was frowning at the person in front of him.
His mother reacted to his news with as much relief as he had expected, but she also made very clear she wanted a good explanation when all of this was over.
Then the Aurors from the ministry arrived and asked for his father, they sadly didn't exactly react happy at Julius introduction as "Julius Aurelius Abraxus", as it seems this was a bit to suspicious after the suicide of the head of one of the sacred 28 families.
Not that he hadn't expected this reaction, he was actually very sure exactly this would happen so he planned for George to go up to the Wizengamot and reveal him being the heir to the Abraxus family, demand his appointment to the position of head of the Abraxus house be publicly supported by the ministry as well as that he would take over the position of Julius' guardian and make sure he wouldn't involve himself in the business of the Wizengamot until he reached the age of 17 despite a seat in it being the right of any head of the house ignoring his age.
Well, here comes the problem: Julius hadn't heard anything of George yet and neither did the Auror questioning him leading to the very tiresome affair of an Auror personally questioning a seven-year-old boy for around two hours without learning anything new.
Finally one of the other Aurors entered the guest room they had temporarily transformed into a makeshift interrogation room whispering something to his by now incredibly annoyed collegue causing him to raise his voice seemingly becoming even more annoyed.
"Are you seriously telling me we should stop questioning our only suspect in this extremely suspicious-seeming case because some rich guy appeared, who just so happened to be the butler of the Abraxus family, and declared this boy the successor of the Abraxus family? Really?"
The other Auror seemed to be trying to calm the first one down whispering things in his ear of which Julius could only understand something about the Wizengamot and pureblood families.
After giving Julius a last angry gaze the first Auror stomped out of the room, quickly followed by the second one, leaving only a grinning Julius behind.
'Now all that's left is me officially becoming the head of the Abraxus family however that may work, George didn't want to elaborate any further on this after all aside from the fact my presence at the family mansion would be needed. Maybe I should take mother, Daphne and Astoria with me, after all I don't think they would really mind leaving this place for a while now that father is gone.'
Two hours later Julius was still explaining the situation to his worried mother.
"So you're telling me those Mirrors I read about in the Daily Prophet were actually invented by you and you were in contact with the founder of Thea and as if that wasn't enough he is your butler and you two decided to finally act against Florian now after you reached the "requirements" you deemed necessary?"
This was not the first time his mother had asked Julius these questions, even if not in this order, as even she without any contact to the outside world aside from her abusive husband had heard from the magic Mirrors which shocked the magic part of the world, the Mirror Network spanned the whole planet after all, through its numerous mentions in the Daily Prophet her husband used to read where she also learned of the supposed founder of Thea Company George Williams, though said husband had never wanted to possess such a Mirror as he didn't exactly like any of the rare occurrence , or at least rare in Magical Britain, called change.
"Yes mother, as I told you multiple times already. Would you come with me to the door now? George should be here by now and I want to talk about a few things with him that also concern your future and those of Daphne and Astoria."
His mother nodded after a short pause and followed her son to the entrance of the mansion still not quite sure if she should believe her son only even considering it because of his knowledge of his real mother.
When Julius first told her that he knew about his biological mother she feared that he would no longer see her as his mother or even despise her because she, even though she sometimes stepped in when her husband's fits of rage grew to severe and once even took the curse meant for her son, was never able to completely protect himself from his father.
But all her worries vanished when he instead of turning away from her hugged her tightly and told her she would be his mother forever and that no one could change this, especially not his father.
Despite the overall situation this had been one of the happiest moments of her life.
Finally she was able to hold her son and relax without fear of his father.
When the both of them arrived in the entrance hall the gate made from a rare kind of blue wood decorated with silver ornaments slowly swung open, revealing the face Julius had only seen as a projection and his mother only as a black-and-white picture in the newspaper.
Julius immediately rushed towards him and hugged him, after all even though he only saw George once a day at most he had been like a father, or maybe more like an uncle, to him, even though he was a weird one that just wouldn't stop calling him young master, Julius couldn't help but smile at that thought.
After the first moment of surprise George happily returned the hug and before getting himself together and releasing Julius again his mother was almost sure she had seen tears of happiness glitter in his eyes and an expression of pride flash over his face.
After everyone had gotten himself together and they walked to the living room to sit down they finally started discussing their future.
"George can you tell me more about my appointment as head of the house now?"
"Very well young master, the ritual to become head of the house should actually be a bit hard as it is now but it should be possible with a bit of extra-effort. You actually need to get your first focus, but not any focus but one that was passed on for a long time in the Abraxus family. It is the grimoire of the family's "founder" Arcturus Aurelius Abraxus. And by the way if you are curious if it is a coincidence that you both share a name that is actually a very interesting phenomenon, as every heir to the family till now was given this exact name, even if the parents for some reason didn't know about this.
Well anyways, the slight complication is now that wizards are usually only able to get a focus, especially one as powerful as this grimoire, when they already turned eleven and got their magic core. But this is not the first time something like this happened and even though it is very expensive and complicated there is a modification to the ritual that should allow you to link with the focus even without having one."
After a moment of silence George noticed Julius' awkward expression and raised his eyebrow questioning. Deciding revealing something like that would not be a problem in front of his mother and George Julius cleared his throat.
"You George I forgot to tell you but I actually already have a magic core. Look!"
Pointing to a quill lying on the little table beside his armchair Julius used his newfound control over his magic to lift it in the air for a few seconds before putting it down and turning to his George and his mother again which very both just sitting there, looking slack-jawed at the empty air where a completely impossible thing had just occured.
Still stunned George asked with a trembling voice:
"How- just how did you do that? Even your biological mother couldn't do this when she was a child and she was the biggest talent in charms the Abraxus family saw for a few generations."
"After I first talked to you I decided to try myself at magic and I found a way to quicken the forming of my magic core. There is nothing special to it, if other kids didn't get told it wasn't possible to do something like this and thus didn't even try someone else would have surely found out about this long before me."
Julius just shrugged his shoulders dismissively so no one began doubting him.
"What I wanted to ask you, mum, was actually what you think of moving to the Abraxus family's manor for now?"
Awakening from her stupor his mother thought about it for a moment before nodding decisive.
"Yes, I think this is a great idea it would be nice to get out of here for once."
"Nice, than it's decided lets talk about this more tomorrow I have had enough of this for today and I think you see it that way too."
And with those words and a little wave Julius went to his room again.
