Chapter Eighteen
Liam's look made me feel like I had gone mad. He turned back to the bed.
I ran after him with feverish abandon. I threw myself on his lap when he sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Liam. What you've been given is a gift! I have read about genetic reengineering and its side effects for many years. In fact, if you'd told me that you would try it, I would have been the first to stop you. But you know, yours worked out perfectly. Here you are without any indication of natural depreciation or decay that should have been evidence of your age."
Liam's eyes turned soft, and I let out a breath I hadn't known I'd been holding. He smiled and put his arms around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and bent to kiss him.
There was nothing I wanted right now more than to be one with Liam and have his baby.
