Chapter 6 - SHE. IS. INNOCENT!

Olivia didn't know why she suddenly felt so sad and bad for him. She didn't know but she knew that his aura was suffocating and it was making her face distort in discomfort.

Max stood rigidly straight, his silver eyes cold and sharp as his eyes searched the ground beneath him. It seemed he was looking for something or watching out for something. So much so that he barely even blinked as he stood still, watching everything that was happening on the ground. He stared at the witches who had silver hair but it seemed he still couldn't find what he was looking for.

Suddenly a bright silver light flashed and Owen immediately turned his head to the side, his hand over his eyes defensively. Even Olivia cover her eyes with lightening speed.

It was only Max who didn't bother to turn his head or cover his eyes however he did blink. He blinked away the blindness which was caused by the light. That light only one purpose, to blind vampires. Yes that was right, it was made to blind those supernatural beings.

As a vampire, one would have super vision, super hearing, super speed and super strength so the witches had always been below them. Therefore, to give them the upper hand for once, one witch in history made the spell which used their super vision against them. A spell that took advantage of the sensitivity of their eyes in order to blind them.

It could permanently blind a weak vampire. Stronger and more powerful vampires might be blinded for a few days or weeks while the royals would only be blinded for a few hours. But for some reason, Max had the strong immunity to it. It only affected him for seconds or like two to five minutes. Maybe because of his strange eye color. All royals had this one trait that show their royalty, thier eyes. Everyone of them had those greyish silver eyes that Owen had.

Max was the only vampire born of royalty who had silver eyes. They all found it weird but they accepted the fact that he was born that way.

Max opened his eyes slowly and his blurry vision became clear. He looked at the ground only to find that the silver-haired witches had already disappeared from his sight. He sighed as his gaze dragged to his right where the royal graveyard was located. Sadness crept into his entire being as his eyes locked onto a specific grave stone.

His aura only turned more gloomy with every passing second. Both Owen and Olivia felt it. Owen followed his gaze and his eyes also locked onto that same grave stone. One which read the name, Jazelle. His eyes instantly dimmed and a cold yet sad smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Olivia felt the depression that filled the air, fueled by the two unnaturally handsome men.

It made her remember her past, that horrifying past that still haunted her to this day. How she had fallen callously from being a exuberant, radiant girl to being a low-spirited, apathetic young girl. It was such a depressing period of her life but now she couldn't think about that.

She needed to find a way to escape first of all, but how? Taking advantage of the fact that both men seemed to be grieving over something, Olivia decided to try to teleport again. She closed her and to a deep breath thereby relaxing her nerves.

She then visualized her apartment and snapped her fingers three times. Yes, this was a really weird way of casting a spell however she just did that on pure instincts. The mixed smell of rain, soil, vegetation, burning and flowers filled the air. With their strong sense of smell, Max and Owen almost immediately caught the faint smell. The stronger the spell, the stronger the scent so since it was just a simple teleportation spell the scent wasn't that strong.

Max turned to face her and disbelief flashed in his eyes. Was this little witch aware that she was in the mist of the two most powerful vampires in Alvania, the most popular remote country? She was seriously performing a spell in their mist? She has some guts!

However something seemed suspicious and Owen had also noticed it. What was her element? Every witch had a specific element;

The sky, fire, land/soil/earth, water, ice and vegetation. But there was something wrong here. She had all the elements which isn't possible unless she was a Witch Queen which was impossible... right?

Or a descendants of the Witch Queen which was actually a possibility however, the Witch Queen had disappeared more than two decades ago. Exactly twenty-five years ago. Most believed she had died however Max believed she was just in hiding. But he couldn't prove his theory for there was no evidence to make that plausible. Well, neither was there evidence for why it was believed she died. But this wasn't the time to think of this so he once again shifted his attention to Olivia.

Olivia was glowing in rainbow hues and her body almost teleported however as if some force was against her, her body fluctuated before she felt the energy drain from her body. She immediately felt weak and not being able to control her wobbling legs, she let herself fall.

She fell unconscious thereafter. This time Max didn't make a move and let her fall on the ground. Intense hatred flashed in his eyes as he stared at her face. Owen looked at her and didn't make a move either. Now he was getting suspicious. Still, she was innocent in the sense that she used magic in the castle. Every witch knows that the castle is made of dialin, a mineral which prevents the use of magic and absorbs any magic performed near it.

So since witches were creatures born with magic coursing their veins, when they cast spells and release that magic, the dialin can easily absorb the magic and suck out the magic within them. This can weaken them for days or months unend. So she was definitely not working for the witches.

She was innocent!
