Chapter 2 - CONFUSION

Olivia took a look around the cell. Was it even a cell? It looked way too comfortable. Though the bed wasn't huge, it look really comfortable to sleep on and there was a toilet cubicle a bit farther away.

Fortunately, the cell was very big. Olivia had claustrophobia, a fear of enclosed spaces.

Olivia was still lost in her thoughts when she heard a cold deep voice was she oddly found familiar.

She turned slowly and found herself again, mesmerized by this otherworldly beauty.

"Maximilian, what are you intending to do with the humans?" a cheerful looking man said.

"I'm just going to erase their memories and let them go" Maximilian said both his voice and eyes devoid of any emotion.

"Mm.... then I'll go call Amy and Penelope to start the spell," the cheerful looking man said.

After he left, Maximilian turned his attention to Olivia. His silver eyes shimmered beautifully but they seemed void of any emotion. Olivia however was staring at him in confusion. She was confused by the way they were speaking as if they themselves were not humans. Then the memory of how she was taken by them came rushing back to her. She remembered how high Maximilian had jumped and also how she had suddenly fallen asleep. Why was that?

"What the hell? How can you just abduct someone like that and how did you jump so high?"Olivia asked in a loud voice.

"Miss, I'm sorry for the intrusion but I needed you to come with me and I'll let you go very soon. By this time tomorrow you'll be back home and then you can go to work." Maximilian said calmly with a hint of amusement in his voice.

His lips arched beautifully into a slight smile. Olivia couldn't help but stare at him. His eyebrows were shaped in a way that made him look stern. They were dark and thick.

His eyelashes were also enviously dark and thick. His wavy raven black hair, a complete contrast to his smooth pale skin.

His pale pink kissable lips were arced up in an amused smile however his beautiful silver eyes didn't give away any emotion. For some reason they looked almost dull and lifeless to her. She looked deep into his eyes and when she was finally convinced this man was completely void of any emotion, she turned her gaze away from him with much difficulty.

Maximilian however, couldn't keep his eyes of Olivia. She was a beauty and seeing as she seemed not to know of it made her even more beautiful. He guessed from her attire that was a barista. Her attire showed her shape and all her perfect curves in the right places.

His gaze followed her eyes. Her emerald green eyes were bright and full of life which were complimented by her silky silvery blonde locks. But he didn't understand himself at the moment because he was very much certain he had seen much more beautiful women than this young woman. So why?

Suddenly, he heard her groan in frustration. "Why am I here?" she suddenly asked with her emerald green eyes blazing fiercely.

For a moment it felt like the god of silence had passed over them as they stared at each other in the eyes. Maximilian looked like he was considering whether to tell her or not.

He decided not to and that frustrated Olivia all the more. Her thoughts were starting to run wild as she looked straight into his eyes. He had just out of nowhere came to her and was turning her world upsidedown which for your information, was not welcomed by her.

She liked her life no matter how much she had suffered those last eight years without anyone to rely on. Maximilian observed her for a while more before finally paying attention to the sound of people coming down into the dungeon.

After a while, Amy and Penelope came down along with Owen, the cheerful looking man from before. They both stood before him and bowed slightly as a sign of respect. Owen however looked as nonchalant as ever and didn't even bother trying to show respect to Maximilian and he didn't seem to mind one bit.

"If you would step aside, Your Highness." Amy spoke up after a moment.

Maximilian glanced back at Olivia for a moment before walking away and standing beside Owen. Amy and Penelope both did the same thing, spreading their arms wide. Their lips moved in low chants and soon the once only dimly lit dungeon begun to brighten from the lights that had enveloped the two women.

Amy was glowing in a bright golden hue while Penelope was enveloped in a bright forest green hue. Olivia was so shocked that nothing even came forth from her opening and closing mouth.

She tumbled back in utter shock as her wide eyes travelled from the two women to the two men who looked indifferent at the back. She was definitely missing something. How is it that.....

Before her thoughts could even drift in that direction, she also saw herself being enveloped by both of the hues from the strange women. In her extreme confusion, she started struggling to break herself free. The hues felt suffocating and she felt trapped in them.

Then she felt herself being lifted off the ground and fear that should have come earlier finally gripped her. She heard screams at that moment which only served to heighten the fear that was already gripping her so tightly.

Owen looked at Olivia in pure fascination. He had never met a human woman like her in his entire life. Most would be screaming their lungs out at this point but the only thing that showed Olivia's fear was her widened eyes and her struggle to break free from the hues swirling around her. He was impressed.

Maximilian was the epitome of self-control but he had almost broken his record by almost trying to get to Olivia when she looked panicked. He was still scolding himself in his head when he noticed that Olivia seemed to be in pain.

Olivia's expression had changed for shock to pained in a matter of seconds. She didn't know why but her body suddenly ached all over. She finally let out a ear-piercing scream and the world seemed to screech to an abrupt halt.

The two men's eyes stretched wide in complete shock while the two women immediately stopped their chants as they all settled their gazes on the human girl who had closed her eyes and ears covered with her cupped palms.

The hues were not longer around Olivia and she felt like she could breathe again. Her tears were flowing freely from all the pain she had just experienced. Did they just inflict pain on her? For some reason, Olivia didn't think it was their doing.
