"Huh?" Max snapped back to reality when he heard her. Finally, he realized what he had said but for some reason, it felt... so right.
Feeling the ground tremble a little, Max wasted no more time as he walked past Olivia, ignoring her completely. Owen followed him silently and then they disappeared from her sight, making her mind run wild again.
She now knew that she herself was not human. Just by looking at her hair she could tell. No human had this color of hair. No, even before, her hair didn't seem normal. Though blonde was a normal color for hair, silvery blonde wasn't. Her hair had always had this special hue that made it seem like it was silver but when wet you can see that it's blonde, just one special type of blonde.
And now that it turned full on silver she knew something was not right. Just who were her parents and why didn't she know about her powers until now. As she thought this, she started walking the opposite direction of where the princes went.
As she walked she bumped into a palace guard. The guard stared at her for a moment before he suddenly became aggressive. His dark irises turned blood red, his fingers grew claws and he bared his dangerously sharp fangs at her with a growl. And her heart turned cold. She was terrified to say the least.
And then he lunged at her and she could do nothing but stay rooted to the ground in utter, paralyzed fear. She closed her eyes and waited but instead of feeling pain, she felt long strong arms wrap around her and the sound of clothes ripping reach her ears. She squeezed her eyes even more tightly shut.
The long arms were wrapped tightly around her small waist and she felt herself being pressed against a cold hard body. The coldness of the body's skin wasn't the least bit comfortable for her however, feeling the arms tighten around her protectively, she could her but feel a bit secure in the arms.
Finally, feeling the coldness retract as the body let go of her and the arms loosen around her waist, she opened her eyes and blinked at the sight of Owen. So it was Owen who saved her. She felt her heart sink a little. She didn't know why she was suddenly so disappointed. No, like what was she even expecting? That Maximilian would be the one to....She shook her head to rid herself of her nonsensical thoughts.
Meanwhile Owen felt his blood boil as he looked at the stupid, young palace guard who had just acted so ludicrously. The young guard trembled when he felt the ominous cold gaze on himself.
"Your high.....Highness, I.....Iā" the young guard stuttered as he trembled visibly but was stopped by the ragging man.
"You're Zion, are you not?" , though Owen's deep voice was calm, the anger in his eyes was making even Olivia a few steps away from him.
The guard nodded his head in affirmation because he suddenly couldn't find his voice.
"How could you be so stupid as to just attack anyone you see." Owen said, looking as if he would kill because of this incident.
"Your Highness, this.....those are the rules. Strike to kill a witch when you see one." He said feeling a bit nervous because of the exaggerated anger Owen was showing.
"We are having an invasion and any witch caught alive would help. Sometimes you have to think for yourself." Owen scolded before dismissing Zion.
Then, he turned to her and smiled at her sheepishly, completely losing the cold, stern aura he had just a few seconds ago.
"Are you okay?", he asked softly.
"Are you?" Olivia asked instead, remembering that he had blocked the attack from Zion.
"Mm", he hummed a reply.
" What are.....what are you?", Olivia was hesitant but nonetheless, she asked the question that had been brewing in her mind for a while now. Wait no, since the moment she had been kidnapped by Max.
A small smile tugged at his lips.
"I was wondering when you would finally ask", he said as his smile widened. For some reason, he seemed exaggeratedly happy to say what he was. Not only that, but he seemed to be extremely proud of whatever he was. Olivia bit her lip loosely in anticipation, looking at him with curious sparkling stars in her eyes.
"I'm a vampire", Owen said slowly.
"Vampire?", Olivia looked at him in astonishment. "A bloodsucker?" She asked again. Owen's expression changed a little.
"That's a bit offensive, Olivia" Owen said, looking at her as if she had somehow wronged him. Olivia finally realized her slip and she lowered her head with a guilty expression.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that", her gentle voice said with a guilty conscience.
"Do you want me to show you?" he asked but before she could give her reply, he lifted her off the ground with frightening ease.
"Ah!" Olivia shrieked however Owen didn't let go and instead, started running at a terrifying pace. She subconsciously wrapped her long arms around his neck as she pressed herself desperately onto his horrindously cold body.
Olivia was horrified and was screaming her lungs out when Owen said, "Olivia, calm down. Just trust me."
Olivia looked at him as if she had just met the biggest idiot in the entire universe. 'This man must be having some mental issues', she thought. 'Like seriously?, I just met him and he expects me to trust him?' Olivia thought and gave him a pity-filled look.
"Don't give me that look!", Owen said as he pouted cutely. Finally, they got outside, well not really cause they were on a gigantic balcony in the palace. Olivia looked at the sky and couldn't help but let a gasp escape her luscious lips. It seemed as though the clouds were those from the fairy tales. They were so white that it almost felt imaginative.
But unexpectedly, there was a sudden strike of lightening which was speedily chased by a clap of thunder. Olivia was confused by the sudden change but there was something that was so eagerly calling for her attention. A lone figure stood at the edge of the balcony, his back facing her with an obvious cold wall around him, successfully blocking everyone and thing from getting any closer. His cold aura was somewhat gloomy and his figure seemed so lonely that Olivia felt her heart clench and ache for him
