Chapter 1 - THE LAST DAY IN HIGH SCHOOL

"Hey Mandrax, catch! " someone yelled from behind me.

"Huh?"

The second I turned my head to whoever called me, I knew I was in deep trouble. A boulder the size of a mammoth came hurling towards me at an alarming speed!

With all the strength I could master, I managed to just so barely jump out of its path. It whizzed passed me like the death carrying heavy weight it was, and went crashing by to some nearby lockers.

"Come on Dunkin! Is that the best you got?" someone said while I was getting up, which alerted me of the direction from where the boulder came from. I quickly decided to turn my face to that said direction, only to be met with a foot that returned me to the ground once again.

"Nice one, Justin!" a deep voice commented.

"Of course it's nice. It's my kick,"

"What's all that ruckus?" a booming voice asked all of a sudden after all the noise. The hallway went quiet as the said owner of the voice, a teacher, scanned the damage done around the hall.

At this point, after that kick from I guessing Justin, it was all I could do to stay awake.

"Alright, I need answers to the following questions: Who the hell did this? How in the beast system is there a boulder in the hall? And why is an almost dead furrha lying on the ground?" he asked, this time specifying his earlier question.

I struggled to open my eyes when I heard that voice. Only one teacher would ever care to know of what happened in this school. Mr Ben.

"Ok then. Since you've all lost your voices, I guess I'll have to call someone in. Justin, your face looks guilty, care to explain to me what transpired here?" Mr. Ben asked.

"Listen, teach, I was only taking out the trash," he said with a cheeky smirk.

"Oh, and I guess you too was in it, Dunkin?" he asked the boy next to Justin.

"Nah, teach, I was only practicing my aiming when this tra- I mean Furrha, happened to walk in my direction," Dunkin said, all serious.

"Ok, thank you both for your honesty. You two, my office, NOW! I don't care if you're royalty, the rules are still rules. Tabitha, please take Max to the nurse's office and can everyone please go back to their classes," Mr Ben said with finality.

Groans could be heard from the spectators, but no one dared to go against Mr Ben's words. After all , he is one of the strongest teachers in school if not the planet.

I felt someone try to lift me up, then I passed out immediately.

I later regained my consciousness and found myself in a soft bed with a light headache.

"Hi there. I guess you're finally awake, sleepy head," a soft voice said. I turned to whoever helped me come here, and my breath was taken away.

Infront of me was one of the most beautiful elven girls I've ever seen. She had long, blue, flowing hair and beutiful sharp ears together with a sharp jawline and blue sparkling eyes to match.

"Don't stare. You're too obvious," she said, making my face turn red.

"Anyways, I was told to check up on you, well I guess your fine now so this is goodbye," she said and left even before I asked her who she was.

"Damn, son. Is it your luck, or are you just that bad with the ladies?" a familiar voice asked.

"No Gerald. She didn't even give me a chance to talk," I said, giving the doctor walking towards me a smile.

"Well, at least today you came in with a few bruises. A concussion ain't great either but you've suffered worse," Gerald spoke as he gave me my assessment while scribbling down something in his notebook.

"At least it's my last day in this cursed school," I murmured to myself.

"I'm gonna miss your frequent visits, Max. But l guess we all have to go to camp someday," he signed. " But hey, don't you dare die a virgin on me, got it. "

We both laughed an talked some more before I left for home.

Huh, hi there, dear reader. Before we can continue, I guess I should properly introduce myself.

They call me Mandrax Randoff and, as you can see, my life ain't so great. I guess it's expected since I am, after all, broke as hell, have no rich family, actually, scratch that, I have no family to begin with. At least, that's what the government told me. They said I was found in a burnt down house with nothing but a watch that had the word Randoff written at the back.

Here's a rundown of where I am.

In this beastverse that I live in , believe me, it ain't all sunshine and rainbows. In fact, it's the exact opposite. Like seriously messed up! You might think that money and influence run it all, but when strength is added to the equation, be assured that brawn will always win.

It doesn't help that the stronger beings also have brains, and depending on which monster you are, you get to have privileges. Never has it been decided which monster is stronger than the other since, in each class, there is always the strongest of them all. But these days, half–dragons are the most powerful or said to be. And my race, among the weakest.

Furrhas(my race, in case you were wondering), are a mix of elves and ware wolfs, hence obtaining the better qualities of each side. But for some reason, I only got the good looks and unfortunately, the monster strength of a slime. Definitely not an ideal complex to survive in this beastverse.

Surprisingly, there are more inhabitable planets around the beast system, and I just so happened to find myself on planet Razor, a few lightyears away from the main planet, Earth. Hopefully, going to camp on earth will perhaps brighten my already ruined life. Or at least, that's what I'm hoping for, but just like usual, nothing of mine ever goes as planned.

Welcome to my messed up life.
