*next morning*
***
"Hey, sleepy head," a voice reached my ears. "Oi! Max, wake up!"
" Mm...."
"Don't give me that you lazy bum! Hey! Don't you dare turn on me. I swear....."
"MMMH!"
"I don't care if you are not a morning person! Let's go, before we're late for breakfast!" Arnold screamed in my ear before I felt a really powerful force knock me out of bed.
"Ugh, fine. I'll grab my army boots," I said while stifling a yawn. In twenty minutes time, after a hot shower, we were back in the hall, both of us heading to the dining hall.
Thankfully, my wardrobe provided me with the required army clothes, a white shirt and army trousers, cause I'm one hundred percent certain I didn't pack anything for my time here.
On arrival to the hall, well...remember that hall scene from Hairy potter? Have that in you mind and more. Flying plates and spoons all lining themselves on the magnificent table. A large podium for the teachers and generals, to the left of the first years table was the second years, all who were elegantly dressed and staring at the new recruits.
As we watched, the food magically appeared in plenty, enough to feed the hungry monsters around. We all sat down and began to dig in.
I'm sure normally, monsters would be laughing and screaming or doing whatever else monsters do other than eat in a dining hall, but surprisingly, it was so silent that you could only here clatter of spoons and plates as everyone ate.
"Alright everyone, attention please," a young firm voice said. We all shifted our eyes towards a young Demi-gon(half dragon, half human) who had fierce purple eyes and purple hair with a beautiful but firm face. She had the womanly curves in all the right areas that could even give a succubus a run for its money. Her small red wings fluttered as her thin spiked tail flickered from side to side making her more alluring.
First year boys all started wooing and the girls looked at her with eyes filled with envy as everybody else just chose to smartly admire her quietly.
"Quiet!" she said in a sharp whisper.
Immediately, everyone who dared open his mouth was brought to his knees as his mouth was sealed with an invisible force. Those who were smart enough to keep their mouth shut weren't fairing and better as the whole hall was affected by the powerful aura she excluded.

[Bradley, what's here power level?] I asked while grinding my teeth in fear.
[Fair enough. I know she's powerful, but that powerful?!]
***
"Now that I have your attention, Let me formally welcome you first years to camp Mars, for your two year mandatory course for survival in the Beast verse. I'm the head Principal, Kelly Draunhard, and it's a pleasure to meet you all. Right after breakfast, follow your form general to know your designated classes. For more inquiry, please ask your general. Good day," she said and left as fast as she came.
"Hey Max. Whose our year general?" Arnold asked as he ate a doughnut.
"That tall muscular guy by the left of the podium. I think his name is Zard," I answered, mid bites while grabbing my drink.
"GENERAL ZARD!" he exclaimed. " Don't you know he is one of the adamantium warriors to ever walk the beast verse?"
*ptooo!*
I was in the middle of my drink before I spilled it all on him. "WHAT?!"
"You could have aimed another direction. Not cool my dude," he muttered while he wiped himself in annoyance.
Adamantium Warrior! That title is only granted by the Beast King to someone who has ever faced an impossible tide of demons and came out of it unscathed for the sake of his world. There are only seven, two from their own planet, and(of course) I don't know any one of them except the on from planet Razor. I think his initials are BM.
"What planet is he from?" I asked Arnold.
"The same planet as our principal, Shin. They are both dragon kin and pretty much at the same power level, but principal Kelly outranks General Zard in terms of strength since she is the daughter of the Beast king," Arnold answered.
"You're gonna have to explain to me more of this later on. Seems like were about to be taken to our classes," I said as I saw all the four teachers rise up from their respective tables and start issuing out commands.
Later, we were each given a class number, but that's where I got separated from Arnold. Luckily, I placed a tracker on him just because..... well, I wanted to.
Now, for which class one got to go to. We were each grouped depending on your assumed power level, which were filled out the day we were born.
The method is quite easy actually. Once one is born, a monster with the power of time appraises you and deems your power level. Mine, I was told, was never found out, so by default I was tossed to the lowest class, South.
At least it was fairly easy to find the class. On entering, I was greeted with a class full of misfits. Everyone here had their own thing going on.
Others had faces of gloominess, some girl at the middle was sleeping, at the front was a four eyes guy who was writing gods know what, and finally, some short stack who was carefully making his way to the group of girls by the right corner. The only redeeming factor of the class was the advanced desks, the large screen television for learning(not likely), and the large windows for viewing.
In total, we were about twenty five. I steered myself to the seat by the corner behind the class and waited to see our homeroom teacher.
"Hey," a blonde boy to my front greeted as he turned to face me.
"Hey, too. So, whose our homeroom teacher?" I asked him. Before he could answer though...
*slap*
Immediately, a body came slamming towards the window in between me and the blonde, but the window seemed to hold on.
"OW!" the short boy from before whined in pain before collapsing.
"Pervert!" one of the girls from the right shouted in anger as she returned he hand to her desk.
"Ignore them. Oh, wait .You are actually talking to me? Thank the gods! I thought you'll be like the rest of them, cold and unwelcoming. One even tried to bite me. Not cool, wolf ears," the blonde said, staring at wolfkin to the right.
"Call me that one more time, and I'll do more than just bite," the boy replied, baring his teeth.
"Seriously? What else can you do other than bite? Wait don't tell me– You can turn to a WOLF!" the blonde exclaimed in mock surprise, and began laughing hysterically.
The wolfkin's face turned a shade red before he rose up, forced his claws out, and prepared to pounce on the blonde. But before he could do so, the door opened and a familiar face walked into the room.
The one and only friendly guy I ever saw in my life before I even met Gerald: Captain Dyrus Flintheart. He is actually the one that took care of me when I was five to eight before he suddenly disappeared. Who would have thought I'd meet him here of all places!
He was dressed in a black shirt and army trousers with a army jacket to cover him. He did look like a general with his dark chiseled face and brown hair, but he still looked the same as I had left him.
He scanned the room before our eyes met.
"Well, well well. If it ain't lil' Maxy! Last I saw you, You was this big," he said, demonstrating the height he left me with.
My face felt hot when I had the girl to my left muttered 'lil' Maxy' and snickered.
Bradley wasn't gonna let this slide too.

[SHUTUP!]
***
"Remind me to have a talk with you latter, kid," he said while nodding in my direction.
"Well kids, I'll be your homeroom teacher for the two years you're here. Now, how 'bout we go to the training field and introduce ourselves. I'd like to see the kind of power I'm working with, from the so called rejects," he said with a smile.
"Uh... teacher, we don't know your name," the four eyes asked
"Don't worry about that. I'll tell you in good time. Just focus on your powers first and who knows? I just might tell you all," he answered, his eyes glinting in mischief.
In five minutes time, we were all at the training ground with everyone's eyes shining in anticipation. Even wolf ears, who seemed grumpy before, was moving his tail side to side in excitement. Flintheart finally came to the field, still in that get up he came in at class.
"Alright kiddos, whose first?" Dyrus asked while staring at me.
"Fine. I'll go first." I said with obvious displeasure.
"Good! First of all, introductions,"
"No need. From your previous statement, I've deduced that his name is Max. We all have actually," four eyes murmured with a smirk, bringing the whole class to erupt in laughter.
"I'll get you for that," I said, staring daggers at him.
"I'm going to show just a little demonstration of my power, so don't get too scared," I said. Guess I'll stick to what Bradley told me and use speed as my ability for now.
"Flashpoint!"

From there, time seemed to move so slowly, I could probably carry everyone around the continent and back and they still wouldn't notice it. But something caught my eye that made my blood turn cold. Dyrus was staring at me with a huge smile on his face.
"H–how are you doing that?" I asked him because I knew my speed wasn't affecting him in the slightest.
"You forget, boy, that I was once a general. I may have been reduced to a teacher, but my power level remains just as before. Never mind that. You never told me you had a speed ability,"
"I wanted it to be a surprise," I lied while putting up a face filled with righteousness.
"I'll believe that for now. In the mean time, I'll keep my eye on you. Why don't you cancel that skill of yours? I'd still like to see the others powers,"

[cancel skill]

Time flowed back to normal. Everyone was still waiting for me to do something.
"Thank you for that, Max. Good demonstration. Now, who's the ne-"
"That's it?!" the blonde from before shouted.
"Ah! Another volunteer. This day just keeps getting better and better. You, blondie, upfront. Chap chap. Times' a wasting," Dyrus smiled, giving him the ' I dare you to interrupt me again look' making him quiet down.
He grumbled before reluctantly raising from the ground and moving foward.
"I go by the name Newton Blade, and unlike some posers over here, I'd like to show you true power," he introduced himself while giving me a stink eye.
He lifted his hands and suddenly, a powerful light blinded us all to kingdom come.
"This is my most powerful skill, illuminate," he said as he canceled his skill, leaving a grinding human waiting to be praised.
"So you're like a powerful blow torch, right?" someone at the back asked. A round of laughter and 'ooohs' were heard with me being the loudest.
"Blade, was it? I give you a five out of ten," Dyrus said and nodded his head for the embarrassed boy to sit down to allow for the rest to introduce themselves.
Everyone in class had a power no one has ever heard but, unfortunately, they were termed as rejects with a reason. Powers like earth, water, fire and so on are all normal, but seriously, void, blood, animal control, you name it. That's the great South class I was in.
"Hey guys. My name is Alex Hound, and I can... well... let me just demonstrate," the last guy to present spoke.
His eyes immediately turned black as he raised his right hand in the air and began muttering a spell.
The temperature in the grounds suddenly went down before the ground rumbled and a bony hand clawed its way to the surface. Soon after, a skeleton crawled its way to the surface and stood there staring at us.

Everyone around froze in fear but, surprisingly(not surprising) it was only Dyrus and I who looked calm. Suddenly, the skeleton looked at my direction before it bent one knee and placed its right hand on its bony chest. It muttered one word that made me rise my eyebrows in question.
"Master!"
