Chapter 12 - Torments, no Torture

Poppy woke up with sweat as she felt the soft white satin sheets on her back. Sitting up, she realizes she wasn't wearing her leathers any longer. Looking around in fear to know where she was, she figured out where she was, a big, enormous room that could be more than the size of her house. The room were designed in gold and browns, the ceilings held a coffee brown with gold curvy designs, the covers of the bed were also a warm brown texture, it was soft and velvet. She swings her heavy legs off the bed and walks towards the glass slide. The curtains were light and transparent, moving it with her right hand, she came in view with the dark blue night sky freckled with slightly visible stars. She opens the slide and walked towards the balcony, taking a view of the city, far away from where she was standing glittering with bright light, the night breeze blew her hard and she felt cold both inside and out.

Walking back into the room she sat on the bed, her heart felt heavy with pains and worries, she couldn't comprehend what had happened to her in just a few hours, how long has she slept? and she looked at what she wore, a white transparent dress with long sleeves and buttons, who had wore her this clothes and where was she? she couldn't think properly as she was in a state of confusion. Could she use this opportunity to escape? no, that won't work, she barely knew where she was at the moment and leave here could put her at risk of been lost and perhaps beaten up by a group of angry faes or killed by an unknown creature. She decides not to just sit and at least try something to help herself so she strolls towards the door in a fast pace, on getting there she passed a dressing mirror and stopped. Walking closer to it, she saw her reflection. Bruises in black and dark blue covered some parts of her body, strangely she couldn't fell the pains at all, a bandage was wrapped on her forehead, and she could only fell the painful headaches from the grabs and pulls of it. Suddenly she could feel her cheeks get wet, she realize she was crying although not knowing why, could it be for the pains and tortures, her family or the honest mistake she made? it quite frankly surprised her how faes could be so unfair, they could kill as many as they want without remorse, but if one of their own is killed, they'd turn the universe upside down.

She had always wanted to believe something different about them, always wanted to believe they could be something different from what she had grew up with but today proves it all...there's no good Fae out here.

Reaching the door, she tried opening it but it didn't budge. Pulling and pushing it didn't help at all, was she locked in?! maybe they thought she'd escape or maybe she was their prisoner,

she couldn't believe it yet she couldn't doubt it whoever those people are, she didn't know but what she was sure of was that these faes weren't done with her. She had to escape!

Walking into the room, she searching impatiently for anything that could help her open the door, drawers, chest, wardrobe, nothing she could find in them, she paced around in annoyance, trying to figure out how to open the door, using her body was a disadvantage, even though she couldn't feel pains, she knew she wasn't properly healed yet plus the door's wood looked more than heavy, with one push she could break her entire bones, glancing the room she saw something on a wood stool, she walked to it and it looked like a knife but it was small and blunt, not caring though she ran to the door and inserted it into the keyhole, twisting and turning it in sweat, she thought of where she could run to, she could retract the Oak tree if it wasn't dark, she could get caught before getting there and anger these faes the more and even if she got to the tree, how would she get in and go home? her brain was in a rumble state as she tried to concentrate and open the door. Just then, the door opens from outside with force pushing her backward with force making her to land on her bottom with force, she felt the stinging sensitation there and couldn't get up immediately. Someone stepped in and she couldn't make out who it was but she knew she had come across the face today.

The male Fae stepped into the room with elegance and grace, his black leather boots made clicking noise on the floor as he strolled in, his black leather pants and white shirt fitted him properly, and his tan skin glowed like honey from the effect of the moonlight from outside, he stepped closer and Poppy clear saw his face.

It was the blonde Fae at that room!

Poppy crawled back in fear as he came closer, she noticed he held something in his hands, poison?! no! she had to leave, she didn't want to die and she won't die.

"Please, please I'm begging you, I didn't kill her purposely I swear on my mother's grave please let me go, I promise I won't say a word about this place, please!" she said hysterically between sobs, the man could only stand and when he didn't say anything, she ran to his feet and kissed his shoes,

"please! please! I'm begging you! My father's an old man he'll die from heart failure and my sisters..."

"Get up" she heard him say as he lifts her up, Poppy stares l at him and and expected to see an expression like Faes, a smile, smirk and angry look but all she could see was more pity, like she didn't deserve any treatment she was getting. He looked at her and he smiled, a gentle one and Poppy couldn't help but cry in his arms, surprisingly, he held her and hugged her, patting her in the back like how Amanda used to comfort her, she didn't know when there got to the bed and sat, all she knew was this particular Fae was proving for her a shoulder to cry on.
