Poppy talks a bit with Gydrin, mostly about the Fae realm. She had learnt that it's name is Prythia and it's had seven courts and seven kingdoms, and the main one among them all was the court of night and shadows which was where she was at the moment.
"So, it's the highest Court in Prythia?"
"Yes it is."
"And each Court has a high Lord governing it?"
"Yes, along with a high Lady who is the wife of the lord."
"So," she drawled, "Who is the High Lord of this Court?"
Gydrin swallows and she suspects that it won't be a pleasant answer, especially for her.
"Lord Adrienne Khaos, High Lord of darkness."
Poppy couldn't deny the shiver that passed through her spine at the mention of his name, somehow, she suspected that she knew this Lord and he as well knew her very well. Mother! she hoped it wasn't who she suspected.
"Is he the one that..." she swallows a lump in her throat and continues"that beat me up at the court?"
Gydrin stares deeply into her eyes and nods slowly. Poppy heart skips a beat in pain, the memories flushed into her mind like a flood as she remembered his beatings, the pain from the arrow in her stomach yesterday returns with full force. She remembered his dark eyes that could have swallowed her and the chilling cold that came out from his body; how it had frozen every bone in her body. Her partially warm blood ran cold in an instant at the memories and her inner organs twisted in pain. She swallows back the vomit that threatened to escape from her itchy throat as she recalled the snake he almost forced her to swallow, if not for Gydrin, she wonders what state she would be in.
"Poppy, are you alright?" Gydrin asked concerned, Poppy shook her head and a silent no escaped from her lips.
"Good morning people" a deep cheering voice utters from the door, Poppy and Gydrin tilted their heads towards the door to see who spoke and two men came out. She looked at them and recognized them from yesterday in the room.
Both of them were tall and good looking, one had amethyst eyes that looked like they had stars in them and his raven black hair was trimmed short and attractive with almost visible dark blue streaks. He wore black and daggers hanged from the baldric on his waist and he looked dangerous with the grin on his face. The other one had white hair, as long as Gydrin's hair, he had sky blue eyes and he wore a long sleeved shirt of the same color with white trousers and he wore a beautiful smile on his face, both men had Gydrin's complexion.
"And not a good morning to you Raiden, how are you?"
"Fine and I don't care how you're doing." the dark haired one replied him.
"Good morning Poppy, how are you doing?"
"Fine" Poppy simply replied to the white haired guy. They both sat on their seats.
"Ah! what a beautiful morning, too bad I'm experiencing it alone." Raiden utters bored.
"Missing someone?" Gydrin asks him, slightly amused.
"Yes, my darling pup, Feyrah..." Raiden said as he recollected some sweet memories.
"It's quite awkward you call your wife a puppy" Idryz said.
"And more awkward she's accepts it." Gydrin adds.
"Oh leave me alone, she likes it and she does remind me of puppies" he smiled. Poppy smiled a bit about what they were talking about. She recollected Amanda who adores puppies and how she always told her that she would want one. She sighs exhausted from mental stress and wish she could go home.
"There's no going back home for you young lady...not yet though."
Poppy almost jumped in her seat out of fear, she looked around and saw the eyes of the Faes on her. She bent her head in fear and shame. These Faes jump into anyone's mind without permission and make a mockery of humans. Raiden chuckles, a loud one. She guessed that he read her mind again. From the corner of her eye, she could see Gydrin glaring at him with annoyance.
"Don't mind him Poppy, he nothing but a nasty old fellow." Idryz told her. Lifting her face up, she saw a beautiful smile on his face. She smiled back at him and he got the message of a silent 'thank you'.
"Poppy, here are my friends, Raiden" he pointed to the black haired Fae "High Lord of the Court of dreams and shadows and Idryz High Lord of the court of magic and embers" he completed as he pointed Idryz. She only nods her head like a timid child.
"And what are you the dear lord of?" Raiden asked with slight amusement. Gydrin glares at him and Raiden smirks back at him.
"Don't mind them, they fight like this every time." Poppy nodded but she realized already that Raiden is a serious troublemaker.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude but..." Poppy rubs her hands together in agitation "who are you all to the Lord of this court?"
The Faes looked at each other and Idryz told her "his men, we're part of his court." she nods slowly and attempts to drink water when she felt a cold wind gush into the room, it was so cold, her already cold blood ran colder and it was more than the wind.
Something was in the room! and she dared herself not to look back, it felt like a predatory presence and even the Faes knew it, some how, they avoided looking at her back, that was when she was assured that it was right behind her. She stays put in her seat, so as the men waiting for it to leave. Suddenly it vanished like smoke and with that happening, Poppy ran out of the dinning room in anxiety.
