Adrienne didn't know what he was about to do as he paced towards the courthouse, a lot of thoughts ran through his mind like a mad horse in a deadly race. He knew both choices had their defaults. If he kept her alive and she ends up being the protector, a riot might occur although the people aren't mad to challenge him, they will still dim her not fit for the role and would protest for someone else. And if he kills her, waiting for hope again would be like wasting eternity, the blight has killed more than it should over the past years and now that the girl has been maybe sent by the mother to free them, he couldn't risk it.
Adrienne arm was suddenly grabbed, he turned to look but could only see black smoke around his arm. He looked at it and raised his head up only to see his sister with her eyes darker than the dark chambers.
"Arminthe, stop" he commands
""What are you doing Adrienne?" her question sounded more like a command. He could only look at her and turns his head from her face, wiggling his arm from the smoke like some set of unbounded ropes he walks forward only for a deadly sharp dagger to appear right before his throat. He clenched his teeth and turned to her.
"Arminthe, I don't have time for this"
"What are you doing Adrienne?!" her steel voice commandsagain.
"Like I said, to release her!" he spoke causally like the obsidian dagger wasn't already pricking his adam apple.
"For what? what are you trying to do, cause a riot?!"
"Sister, sister" he clicked his tongue "Are you now afraid of the people you rule? or have you forgotten we're the ones who put ourselves in power of the five realms? tsk! I've remembered you forget easily."
"Don't push your tongue any longer High Lord, yes I do remember that, but doesn't mean we have to abuse it. That thing didn't just kill your fiancee, but she killed a high lady, a high fae and you expect the people to not react when they'll hear that the high Lord won't hurt her her let alone release her tsk!your making a grave mistake!" she spat at him.
"Do you think that I want her alive? of course not!" he yells out "but I have no choice."
"You had a choice Adrienne! if you had just told me and not go behind my back and ask for help, we could have worked this mess out before any of this could occur."
"Arminthe, you talk like you could take it well if I told you. We both know you hate things that hurt your pride"
Adrienne could feel the dagger in the crook of his neck now, he could feel the hot red liquid flow down to his chest and soak his shirt.
"I will not warn you again, don't push your tongue any further High Lord!" her voice sounded leathal with a death wish coating it but Adrienne couldn't care less.
"Then don't intrude into my decision making any longer!" he fired back at her and disappears in the hallway.
He enters into the room and the chattering he heard before coming in had died down. The faes stood up to acknowledge him again before settling down in their seats. Arching his head up he saw Arminthe returning to her seat, a grave look covers her face as she glances between the girl and him. He took his view to the girl and she was still sprawled out on the floor like she was dead already. Her breathing was too shallow for him to hear as he walked towards her, yanking her up she whimpers in pain as he squeezes her arm like a sponge and addressed the court.
"I won't kill her." and the court gasped.
"Why?!" a high Lord stood up and asked with a shocked expression, "she killed your fiancee and you won't do anything about it?!" a high lady asked as well.
"No, I won't" he answered casually.
"We won't accept this!" another high Lord yells and all it took for Adrienne to shut them all out was to show them his abyss eyes, a cold silence creeps into the room and then he stormed off with the human. Arminthe would deal with them as he heard their whispers of anger, but right now he had something to deal with as he turned his head to the girl he held in a steel grip.

Poppy didn't know where she was being dragged to, all she knew was that this man holding her had released her, could she be thankful or could she be more worried as this man could not have released her to save her but to torture her till she dies a slow and painful death. She couldn't ponder more on it as the arrow in her stomach was killing her slowly, ash arrows were slow killers, it drains life out slowly out of it's human victims and that's why they were most used on faes.
They got to a door with gold frames and it was pushed open by the man holding her, as they got in she was pushed to the ground colliding with pain, she closes her eyes and gasp for air as the arrow went inside her with full force. Opening her eyes she saw the man walk abit forward and he pours something into a glass, she looked up observing the room even though her vision wasn't clear, she noticed they weren't alone. Three men sat differently from each other, the blonde one on the red sofa with worry on his face, a dark hair one with daggers by his sides leaning on the gold pillar and the white hair one sat comfortably on the couch with a goblet in his hand. She feared for her life as she suspected this faes, could he have brought her here so they could do to he what those other faes did to Amanda.
"This is the girl?" the one on the pillar said. like he expected something better.
""Yes!" she could heard his dark voice echo in the cold room. He gulped down what he poured in a glass for himself and turns to her, suddenly smoke appeared on his hand clouding it, she gasped silently as it disappeared showing a black dagger in his hand and slowly he stalked toward her like a predator towards it's prey.
"Adrienne what are you doing?!" the blonde Fae called out in worry.
"Looking for evidence" he answered coldly.
"Please I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, Please it's was a mistake!" Poppy cried out while crawling back to the door in fear, but the man didn't stop, instead he yanked her up and pushed her to the pillar, Poppy's head collided with it and she could feel her head stinging with pain. She begins to beg, yelling for compassion not wanting to die like this but none was given to her. He came towards her and turned her back and before she could think of it, she heard the ripping sounds of her leathers screaming in horror, she tried to release herself but she could hear his angry growl.
"She is indeed the one!" he said coldly in his dark voice filled with terror and before she could think, he yanked her hair and threw her across the room like a pile of old books, which she landed on a table that broke to pieces as they both collided.
"Adrienne!" was the last thing she hears from the blonde Fae before she fainted.
