Adrienne stares at Gydrin like he was deranged, he tried to understand what Gydrin uttered out of his mouth as he stared into his amber eyes. He saw the seriousness in them but could only laugh out loud at him, Gydrin didn't shake at all just allowed Adrienne to laugh as much as he wanted. The laugher died down with Adrienne's gaze on him, he smileswhile shaking his head at him.
"You're not serious" he said to Gydrin as he walked towards the door.
"Believe me Adrienne, I am serious." but Adrienne didn't listen and went closer to the door, his hand was just about to bend the door handle when Gydrin yells out.
"Adrienne think! do you think I'd just barg in there like a madman to tell you a silly joke, of course not! I'm being serious right now and I need you to listen to me!" Adrienne stops at that moment and raised his head up, taking a deep breath that was hard to take in, he turned and walked towards Gydrin with a glare on his face.
"And why won't I think so?, do you think what you just said makes any sense?!..."
"Of course it doesn't, but if you'd calm down and think about it, you'd know I'm right".
"Oh really?! so could you explain how that human being is the protector."
"I will, but calm down first."
Adrienne made himself comfortable on the red sofa with gold frames, he took some deep breaths and looks up to Gydrin.
"I'm listening..."
"She's the protector because first of all she came when unexpected, and that's what the eye told us, and Terisan's death proves it all".
"You're crazy!" Adrienne got up with haste and yells at Gydrin face, he felt like killing him right there as he turned his back on him.
"Adrienne think! remember what the eye said, one life must be gone to save other lives. That life must be Terisan's".
"And how are you sure this person is the protector and not some imposter?!" he spat at him with his withering rage.
"I don't know, but let's not make the mistake of killing the only hope we have in saving the realms just because your angry."
Adrienne's burning glare withered in pain as he realized what Gydrin said, just then Arminthe storms into the room with Syria behind her.
"What is going on here and what is this protector nonsense I'm hearing?!" she yells trying not to growl in the process. Raiden and Idryz walks into the room as well and they thanked their gods silently that Adrienne was here with Gydrin, giving the sign that he hasn't killed the girl yet. Arminthe waited for her answer but no mouth moved, the room was buried in a chilling silence.
"I asked a question!" she yells once more with a deadly snarl but Adrienne just sat back once more on the sofa.
"Adrienne?!..."
"We can't kill the girl." he gloomy voice echoes in the room, Syria's eyes widenes in anger.
"Why?" Arminthe questions with a frown on her face but Adrienne's mouth was still shut closed.
"Because the girl is believed to be the Protector".
"Protector, protector of what?!"
"The five realms" Idryz answers.
Arminthe blue eyes widens, and then she laughs, a laugher that didn't come from her heart. She looked at the four men in the room and shook her head.
"Where in the mother's name is all this coming from?"
"Few months back, when we found out the bright had destroyed the Marine realms, we couldn't sit back and watch it continue it's destruction, so we went to the eye for help and she told us what the caulderon told her."
"And what was it?"
"That there's nothing we can do about it, only the Protector can help us".
"And who is this Protector?"
"A person that will stop the bright once and for all."
Arminthe couldn't believe what she was hearing. A saviour, counselling behind her back. No! she wasn't going to take this.
"So you all went counselling behind my back without my permit?!"
"Come on Arminthe, you don't just expect us to see danger happening around us and expect us to just sit back and wait for your permission to do something about it"
"Careful Lord Raiden, don't forget who your talking to!" Arminthe turns to him and warns with a growl.
"But how does this concern my sister?" Syria asked between her clenched teeth that were grinding with anger.
"The eye said that a life will go for lives to stay."
"And that life had to be my poor sister, right?!"
"Perhaps..."
Syria didn't believe what Gydrin uttered, she strolls towards Adrienne in speed and said lowly in a dark voice.
"Don't tell me you believe this nonsense!"
"I don't have a choice." he finally said" I can't destroy the only chance in saving the realms!" The he stood up and strolls towards the door in defeat.
"Adrienne!" she yells at him and ran towards him, yanking his arm she shouts at his face.
"Don't tell me your your going to allow that bag of dry bones to live because of some lie!"
"Syria be careful, the eye never lies, don't get yourself curse!" Idryz warns with dread but she didn't look his way.
"Adrienne..." he turns, his eyes were black.
Everyone shivers in fear except Arminthe, Raiden reached for Syria's arm and pulled her back.
"Now is not the time for that Syria." he whispers to her. Adrienne left the room and Arminthe follows him, banging the door in the process.
"Adrienne, where are you going?!" she calls after him.
"To the court." he sounded grimly.
""To do what?!"
"To release her" he turns to her and answers.
