"Come with me, there's something I need to tell you" Alice said.
"What is it?" Geed asked.
"I'm sorry for not telling you earlier. I never meant to hurt you" Alice said.
"Stop beating about the bush, get to the point?" Geed demanded.
"Fine, back then, when my father was dueling Romanus, I did see Romanus fall but I didn't see him die. He just vanished into thin air" Alice confessed.
"What?! And you kept something like that a secret from me? Why didn't you tell me before?! Romanus was like a father to me. Maybe the real way of the Magi is deceit, friends that betray one another. And to think I trusted you. I don't know how I'm ever going to forgive you for this" Geed said walking angrily into the Temple.
He met Diane on the way.
"What just…" Diane began to ask.
"I don't want to talk about it" Geed demanded raising a finger to silence her.
"What just happened Alice?" Diane asked.
"I believe I made a terrible mistake Diane. I lied to Geed and I don't know if he's ever going to forgive me" Alice said almost breaking into tears.
Finally, Geed found Kishon.
"I'm ready for the rest of my training" Geed said.
"Okay" they walked back to the star.
Geed sat on it.
"Let us begin! Ready?!" Kishon asked.
"Ready!" Geed replied.
"EARTH! WATER! WIND! FIRE! DARK! LIGHT!" Geed called as the elements enveloped him.
He shut his eyes.
"Think back to your history Geed" Kishon instructed.
Memories began to flood Geed's mind and with the memories came the familiar feeling of rage. Slowly, the Seal Of Five Points was released. It's power crept slowly up Geed's body. Just before it took over, a memory of Alice came to him.
"Geed, what you are seeing is an illusion" Kishon said.
Geed recalled Alice's words.
"I saw Romanus fall".
The words rang in his mind.
"No! I can't. Regardless of the lie she told, she's now an important part of my life. I can't just let her go" Geed said.
"Are you sure about this? If you refuse to let her go, you will never experience the true state of the seal. The Chronicles will be lost to you forever" Kishon warned.
"Either way, I won't give up on her even if it means controlling all the powers of the Universe" Geed said.
"Very well, if your mind is set, there's nothing I can do for you anymore. You are free to leave at any time" Kishon said.
"Thank you master" Geed bowed and left Kishon's presence.
Geed walked outside. He met Alice sitting beside the Temple hugging her knees. He sat beside her. He looked at her for a while, then he looked away. Then he sighed.
"Alice, I-uh-I know you lied but after thinking about it I've realized that you just tried to be a good friend. Though your way of doing it was unacceptable, it's not so easy to say this but…I forgive you" Geed said.
Alice raised her head and turned to look at him. There were tears in her eyes.
"How can you just forgive me? You should be mad, angry" Alice said.
"I could, but I can't. I've carried the pain of loss and loneliness in my heart for a long time. I no longer want to bear that burden. Especially now that I have such great new friends" Geed said. "You should realize that you're my best friend and when friends care for each other this much, they can never lose each other as long as they don't forget each other" Geed said.
"My words huh?" Alice said with a smile.
"Yeah" Geed said.
"How is your training so far?" Alice asked.
Geed thought back.
"EARTH! WATER! WIND! FIRE! DARK! LIGHT! She is now an important part of my life".
"Fine then, if your mind is made up, you are free to leave at any time".
These memories flooded Geed's mind.
"Geed?" Alice called.
"Yeah?! Sorry about that. Training is just great" Geed said.
"Master Geed! Have this, to help you on your journey" Kishon said handing over the Light Gem to Geed.
"Wow, no battle with a Sacred Creature, cool" Geed said relieved. "But why is the Gem broken in half?" Geed asked.
"Its pair, the Gem Of Darkness has been lost for millennia. You must find it" Kishon instructed.
"Five Gems done! One more to go!" Geed said in enthusiasm.
Diane stared at Geed. There was something different about him.
"Geed has been more cheerful lately. Most of the pain seems to have left him" Diane thought.
"It is time! The quest for the Dark Gem begins!" Geed declared.
