Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 11: THE PATH TO MARINEA

"So let me get this straight. You travelled from Phoenicia to Windia, mastered Wind and retrieved the Fire and Wind Gems, then you journeyed on to Subterranea where you saved me, then we almost get eaten by the Roc and Alice ends up hating Geed, we retrieve the Earth Gem and now seek a way into Marinea, is that it?" Diane asked.

"Yeah, that about pretty much sums it all up" Geed said.

Soon, the four companions approached the Sea.

"Marinea should be somewhere around here" Taros pointed out.

Soon they spotted a group of mermaids playing among the rocks.

"Excuse me but can you tell me where to find Marinea?" Geed asked politely.

"Marinea is right below here. We'll take you there" the mermaids replied.

"Thanks" Geed said gratefully.

So they dived underwater and kept swimming. Geed looked uncertainly at Alice. She still seemed angry at him so he turned away. Time passed and they soon arrived in the underwater kingdom of Marinea.

"Can you tell us where to find Prince Damian of the Wind?" Geed asked.

The mermaids nodded and pointed to a Sapphire Castle.

"That's where Damian is?" Geed questioned.

The mermaids nodded and swam away. Geed and his four companions swam into Marinea, a kingdom of Mermaids. Geed admired the kingdom which was very glamorous. Soon, the four companions found themselves in the Sapphire Castle. Prince Damian came out to meet them.

"Welcome to Marinea" Prince Damian welcomed them.

"Hello Prince Damian, brother" Geed replied.

"I see, so father adopted you didn't he?" Damian asked.

"He says you are free to come back home at any time" Geed said.

"Really? After all these years, I can finally go home? I don't know what you did or said to him Geed but thanks. To show my appreciation, I'll join you on your quest, my younger brother, Geed" Damian said.

At this, tears of joy filled Geed's eyes.

"Wow, and I thought you'd be angry to see me" Geed commented.

"That's nonsense younger brother, I hold no grudge against you" Prince Damian said.

"So you two are really brothers huh?" Alice questioned.

"Yes, we are, Geed here is my younger brother. Rest well my friends, you'll be needing your strength tomorrow" Damian advised.

"Now that you mention it, we're really tired" Geed yawned.

Soon, the four companions fell asleep.

The Sun rose early the next morning. There were sounds of crowing and trills. Geed got up immediately and rushed down the Sapphire Castle. Damian awaited him.

"Good morning younger brother" Damian greeted.

Geed looked around. Alice, Diane and Taros were seated behind Damian.

"Good morning Damian" Geed responded.

"Judging by this meeting, I'll be right to assume that you know the nature of our mission?" Geed asked.

"Yes, you seek the Gems" Damian answered.

"Then you can lead us to the Water Gem?" Geed asked.

"No, the guardian of this gem is not like the others. It is most vicious and must not be trifled with" Damian warned.

"I'm not afraid, I'll face it anyway" Geed said confidently.

"I love your confidence and spirit Geed but do you really want to risk Death?" Damian asked.

"Anything as long as it leads me to Lord Kane" Geed replied.

"That'll mean that you're on your own, my Earth Powers won't work underwater" Diane warned.

"Neither will my Firepower" Alice also warned.

"It'll be Wind against Water. What of you Damian, is there any way you can help me?" Geed asked.

"I'll give you some solid advice brother. Watch out for Lightning Attacks" Damian warned.

"Lightning?! This just keeps getting better and better! First, I nearly become bird food, now I'm in danger of being fried?!" Geed burst out.

"That's the risk" Damian said.

"Uh-um Geed? I'm-I-uh, I'm sorry for being mad at you but after not seeing you in five years, it was difficult to accept that you lied. Thanks for saving me back then" Alice apologized.

"I understand. I know I shouldn't have…" Geed began to say.

"It's okay Geed, I see your reasons. Just stay safe okay?" Alice said.

"Okay, thanks" Geed said.
