After some time, Dan arrived at a place that is a few kilometres away from the 7th settlement. It is a small, open grassland with nothing but black grass and boulders. This is his hunting ground.. on the outside.
Dan moved one of the boulders and a small hole appeared underneath it. Dan entered the whole and pulled the rock back to the usual place. Then he started descending through the small tunnel.
Few minutes after Dan enetered the Hole, A Haggard looking Hesta appeared in the grassland. He started searching for Dan. Not finding him he cursed and started running again.
"Tavern 7th" is the most Famous place to eat Inside the whole chain of settlements. Reason being that they have a special Dish called Dirima meat stew. Dirimas are rabbit-like creatures that are not very strong but are very agile. They are only found near 7th, 9th and 16th settlements.
What makes them special is that their meat is not rubbery and don't stink like that of other Dread Spawns. Thanks to their tender meat, they are expensive and are high in demand.
But these cowardly Creatures are very intelligent. They will hide underground most of the time and only search for food at night. they Run away the moment they sense Danger. So, catching them is a tedious work. Good news is that Dan had developed a strategy.. a strategy especially to hunt them.
Dan finally reached the end of the Tunnel. This small tunnel leads to a large Underground cave. Dan lit up a torch and looked at the familiar cave walls. The wall has a number of small holes.
This is a natural Underground cave but a group of Dirimas made this place their home. Dan's Father was the one who discovered this cave. Dan could vividly remember his Father teaching him Hunting skills in this place.. Thanks to his Father's teaching he didn't die atleast.
He opened his bag and took out all the parts needed to make the trap. Dirimas have a tendency to jump backwards the moment they sense Danger. He is going to use that against them. After setting up four traps in different places, he hid behind a nearby rock. The waiting begins.
It was still dark, and occasional screeching of Dread Spawns could be heard. Hidden behind the rock, Dan observed the traps for any kind of movement.
Suddenly, A greyish Blue light Illuminated the whole cave. Dan was so mesmerised by that light that he stayed rooted in his place. He had never heard or seen anything like that before. When the light faded, a single humanoid figure could be seen.
That humanoid figure wore a skin-tight suit of silver color and covering his head was a half- metallic, half-transparent material helmet.
"Is he an othersider?" Dan thought. Dan saw those Othersiders wear Flashy and Luxurious clothes. But, They are nothing like this person's bizarre clothing. And what the hell is that twinkling bucket on his head? While he was trying to understand this situation, the figure turned towards him.
That figure waved his hand in Dan's direction. The moment he did that, Dan felt strength leaving his body. He fell to the ground. Completely paralyzed. Dan watched in horror at the humanoid figure.
That figure started mumbling some gibberish. Then that figure mumbled something again, and his clothes magically vanished. Surprisingly, that figure is a human like him. That figure spread his arms open, inhaled the air, and mumbled something again. A few moments later, he glanced at Dan and started walking towards him.
But after taking a few steps, that figure staggered a little like a drunkard and fell right into one of Dan's traps. At the last moment, that figure mumbled something in panic, but alas, it was too late.
Dan's stomach churned as he watched the trap rip that human in two. If he was not paralyzed, he would have emptied his stomach on the ground. Two severed parts of a human figure lay there motionless; But the horror didn't end yet.
A few seconds later, something came out of that severed corpse and started flowing towards him. Then that silver-colored, half-liquid entered his body. Dan watched all of this in horror, and his mind went blank.
After what felt like eternity Dan woke up. He stayed rooted in his place the moment he opened his eyes. Light. Blinding lights everywhere. Although the Sky is Dark representing Night, But a Speck of that Darkness couldn't touch the ground.
Dan was mesmerized. Sky high Illuminating Buildings, Wide Bright Roads, People roaming around with out a care. Dan unknowingly started walking at some point. He saw many Unexplainable things. People are walking and laughing looking at a thin Board in their hands. "Are they a Bunch of Retards?" Dan thought.
Dan started walking in the middle of the road. The lights gave him a feeling of warmness. As he was walking he heard a sound from above. A Insanely long Metal Beast landed on the Road. People started pouring out of it. Some Idiots even dared to enter it. Dan Hesitantly tried touching the metal Beast. But His Hand passed through it.
Dans Whole body passed right through the Beast. He saw People were sitting and standing Inside it. Dan Is horrified. He tried touching things and even people but wasn't able to touch anyone. As he was going insane.. A Voice sounded Inside his Head.
"Voice: Calm Down. No need to panic. I will explain everything to you." A Male Robotic Voice ringed inside his Head.
"Dan: Where am I? Who are you? Am I Dead?" Asked Dan Hastily.
"Voice: First You are not Dead. Your real body is merely Unconscious. What you are Experiencing is a Artificial Dream I am showing you. You are But a mere spectator here. You can only watch this can't Interfere with it. As for me.. You can call me Legacy."
"Dan: why are you showing this to me? And Who was that man in that ridiculous clothing?" Dan asked Calming down himself. He shouldn't get agitated.
"Legacy: I will answer all of your questions but First watch this." As Legacy said those words the scenery around Dan changed. The Dark night sky got replaced by Bright Blue sky. In front of him a Vast Blue water plain which other end he can't even see.
It didn't stop there.. scenery after another, all of them flashed infront of his eyes.
"Dan: So Beautiful.." Dan spoke enjoying the view.
"Legacy: It sure is. But all of them are going to be destroyed. And Maybe You could help us prevent it."
An expression of confusion appeared on Dan's face. As if understanding his bewilderment the Voice started Explaining. The Scenery also changed..
That person, who died because of Dan's trap, is a Person from Another World. He was called a Scientist in his World, and his name was "Jay Danates".
Jay lived on a planet called "BLUE-EL03", People in Jay's world are very Weak. But they are very advanced. Sky-high Buildings, Bright Roads, And freely hovering Metal Beasts on these roads. They made all of them.
That world was like a bright paradise, unlike the gloomy place he lives in.
All of it felt so Unbelievable to him, But the Familiar feeling of Excitement, which he lost at some point in his boring life started resurfacing.
Dan have no Idea what kind of Messy waters that Legacy Bas*ard have dragged him. That voice who calls himself Legacy also have No Idea what kind of Bas*ard he chose as his Host. But Fate have a very Interesting Future for them. After all..
