Kissa and Cairo walked down the village towards the location where the temple was located.
The temple stood out from the other buildings and one could easily tell it was abandoned and also was a large and beautiful one during its time standing.
"So what are you going to look for there?" Cairo asked her.
"One of the sorceress books. Like the most important thing there is in the sorceress powers." Kissa huffed as she skipped over a rock and almost slip but Cairo was easy to catch her.
"Easy there, easy." He smirked as he patted her head. "Or you'll end up with a broken ankle and Asim will notice your disappearance."
"Here, come up." Cairo squatted and gestured at his back for her to climb.
Kissa happily climbed up his back and he gave her a piggyback as they walked on towards the temple.
He had to admit, she did weigh more than the last time he carried her but it's something he could handle for long.
"When are you planning on leaving here?" Kissa asked him as he stepped into the flowing water.
"In a few weeks. Either one or two." Cairo said as he walked up the pile of rocks leading to the main entrance of the temple.
"Is your plan close to accomplishment that you didn't even include me in it again?" Kissa asked and Cairo laughed gently.
"It mostly includes how we'll escape without Asim catching up to us before we reach my kingdom." Cairo said as he paused for a while.
Kissa looked down from the rock to see the pyramid Asim was supervising far away.
"We walked this far in a few minutes? Wow. That's amazing." Kissa gasped.
"If I'm not wrong, we spent almost twenty minutes walking up here." Cairo corrected. "And here we are."
Cairo stopped walkjng and Kissa looked up, noticing they were at the entrance of the temple already and she got off his back.
Kissa took a deep breath as she looked around then looked up at the arch leading into the temple.
Kissa asked Cairo to stay back as she stepped under the arch. Her hair immediately started glowing and the invisible air from underneath started blowing her hair up again.
Before she could fall on her back, Cairo grabbed her and she opened her eyes with a loud gasp.
She didn't see anything in her vision but it was like something in the temple was calling her.
"Are you okay Kissa?" Cairo asked her and she nodded before they both stepped into the temple.
Some of the bricks used to build the temple were broken and some parts of the temple outside had fallen.
"You have to be careful because anywhere in the place can trigger your vision." Cairo warned as they stepped up the stairs into the main building.
The whole place was dark but they walked in anyways. Little lights were coming in through the broken places.
Soon they arrived in a large hall. The hall had different paintings and drawings scribbled on the walls.
"This place must have been more beautiful when it wasn't abandoned." Cairo said as they walked deeper into the temple.
Kissa pulled out the locket from her pocket and put it round her neck. The locket started shining and pointing towards a direction.
They both followed the direction till they reached the large wall opposite the entrance. The wall shook gently as Kissa placed her hands on the inscriptions and it pulled apart, revealing a clockwise step.
Kissa room Cairo's hand as they walked down the stairs. Sounds of water pouring could be heard, making both of them look at each other with just as much curiousity as the other.
The steps seemed to go on down and down till they started seeing faint blue light reflection. The more the went, the more the reflection became brighter and they soon appeared in a large place filled with blue water and a large waterfall, pouring from above down into the pool.
"Wow. This is impossible." Cairo said in shock.
"What is it?" Kissa asked.
"This is the pool of life. No one has ever found it or the entrance to it. Layla does appear here once in a while but she doesn't even know how." Cairo said and Kissa looked at him in shock.
"Pool of life?" She asked.
"The pool dated back to the beginning of time. It has magical properties and can heal anything and anyone. It was used as a healing water back then and it can turn an ugly woman to a beautiful one after frequent use. And there are different other lists of its use." Cairo explained and Kissa's lips formed 'o'shape.
"When people stared to misuse it, use it as a selfish means to hurt people, it dried up and no one could find it again till Layla was born. She got her tail color from the water's properties."
"So why did the water reside here?" Kissa asked.
"Who knows? Maybe it was almost found, that's the reason why the temple got abandoned." Cairo rubbed his chin and it did make sense.
Kissa pulled off her sandal and placed her feet in the water. She felt her feet at the bottom and the bottom of the water felt like smooth pearls.
Kissa dipped her hands into the water and took the pearls in her hands. They were transparent and twinkled brightly.
"Wow, so beautiful." Kissa gasped in amazement.
"So why exactly did the locket lead us here?" Cairo asked and the locket started shining again and pointed towards the waterfall.
"Something is behind that waterfall. Maybe it's even the things we're looking for." Kissa pulled off her clothes, leaving her in her chest band and thighs.
Cairo blushed a bit when he saw her body and she noticed this.
"Will you just stare or come in and let's get going?" Kissa raised her brows.
"Let's get going." Cairo chuckled nervously as he pulled off his clothes too.
Kissa almost fainted when she saw his abs. She tried hard to keep herself stable as she dipped herself into the water.
"Well, let's go."
Cairo jumped into the water and they swam towards the waterfall.
