Chereads / Pharaoh's Vengeful Prisoner / Chapter 42 - Plans

Chapter 42 - Plans

"Wait I'm confused, you're human all this while?" Kissa asked and Gold nodded affirmatively.

"You're crazy." She yelled.

"You can say that again." Gold smirked before he walked over to her but stopped when he reached the last stairs to her bed.

"You shouldn't be with that book." Gold said and she looked down at the book then at him.

"And why is that?" Kissa asked with raised brows.

"Dina hid the book for a reason. It is a very dangerous book and can put anyone and everyone in danger." Gold explained.

"It is very dangerous and almost killed Dina herself. If you want to leave here without any problem, just hand the book over."

"Why would I even give it to you in the first place? There's no proof you're even Gold or anyone to testify." Kissa rolled her eyes and Gold sighed before his body started to glow and he turned into a snake.

And as his body started glowing again to become human, Sabola walked in with a tray of food which almost fell off when she saw Gold turn human.

"Gold." She said and he looked back at her and his expression changed to that of a husband waiting to see his bride after a long while of being separated.

"Okay so which of you will explain what is happening to me?" Kissa asked with a raised brow.

"Clearly, she's my lover before Dina punished me by making me stay in my snake form till you found that book." Gold rolled his eyes. "Well, I did deserve it but it was too much because Sabola is terrified of how scary I look when in my snake form."

"You do look terribly cute." Kissa said before standing up and walking over to them.

"So don't tell me I just went that far to hand over the book to you?"

"I was with Dina longer than any of you have. She was affected trying to read everything in the book. It is a book that even all the past sorceresses have never finished. The one who passed her limit died on the spot." Gold explained.

"The curse placed on Sorceresses is worse than you think. The cursed sorceress did something really wrong against nature. Her power included controlling water and fire."

"Because the man she loved didn't love her back, but another woman, she burnt the woman alive and rained fire down the whole kingdom just because her lover left her. After the fire, then flooded the kingdom and many innocent people lost their lives."

"Just because of love?" Kissa asked.

"That's why you have someone you're chained to. And that person has limited things that can control you for. Then if you choose your true love, you'll lose your power." Gold said. "Seems fair to me. If you don't return the book and let your curiousity get the best of you, then you'll end up like one of them."

Kissa reluctantly gave Gold the book and it disappeared. "Thank you for listening. Not troublesome like your mum."

Kissa rolled her eyes before going back to sit on her bed. "How will I get back the throne?" Kissa asked.

"Get back the throne. I don't know because I have no future seeing power but you'll have to confront Asim when you know you're ready. You've been told, you have great powers and they are scared that if you realize this, you'll destroy them all."

"You're not like other Sorceresses Kissa. You're the first ever sorceress to be born by a sorceress." Gold pointed out.

"So what's the power they are scared that I'll realize?" Kissa asked.

"That's for you to find out and not for me to answer." Gold replied. "I'll see you tonight sweetheart." Gold kissed Sabola's forehead before walking out of the room.

Kissa was quiet as he thought about everything Gold said as Sabola served her dinner.

"You can go for the night and send Ramla over. You've been working harder than she is lately." Kissa commended and Sabola bowed before walking out of the room.

Ramla walked in after Kissa was done with dinner and she looked down at Kissa with a guilty look on. Kissa ignored the look and focused on what she was busy thinking about.

In Layla's room, Cairo was resting on the wall lost in thoughts when Layla walked into the room in her nightdress.

"What are you doing here again?" Layla asked as she sat on the bed, opening her food tray. "Looks delicious."

"They didn't tell when they would be executing their plans. It may disrupt ours." Cairo said in a worried tone.

"It is only a form of distraction and no matter when they execute their plans, Asim would have to leave the palace to go to the walls." Layla hummed as she tasted the soup in her bowl. "Quite delicious."

"And how do you plan on convincing him to leave the palace?" Cairo asked, still not getting her point.

"Oh are you underestimating my charms Cairo? Oh geez, don't tell me you are." Layla smirked, making Cairo roll his eyes.

"Charms indeed." He mumbled.

"The are just testing you Cairo. They want to see how capable you are in competitions in a situation like this." Layla said as she dropped her spoon. "You won't just let Niu take everything you've been working for since all these days."

"Why would I. After Kissa saw that vision, I've decided, I won't be dancing to his tune anymore. He should just wait till I return to the kingdom." Cairo clenched his fists.

"I'm waiting too." Layla squealed like a little child. "It's going to be fun."
