Sunset in Suma was Kissa's favourite time. She stood on her balcony looking at the sun disappearing behind the pyramids into the horizon.
"It is almost time for dinner, Lady Kissa." One of the maids standing at the door informed her but she acted as if she didn't even exist.
Kissa sat on her bed looking for something around the bed when Lapis walked in.
"Lady Kissa, Pharaoh asked me to remind you about the dinner he asked you to come for. Food would be served in a few minutes Lady Kissa."
"I will be there now." Kissa replied as she slipped her feet into her golden sandals and walked into the bathroom.
Lapis looked at the two maids whose heads were still bowed. "Make sure she gets to Pharaoh's room without trying to escape again." Lapis ordered them and they nodded before she walked out of the room.
Kissa walked out of the bathroom with a new cloth on. Like the Pharaoh's clothes, it was made out of expensive golden linen but of course not as expensive as his.
She was wearing a snake armlet on her right arm and a snake bracelet on her left wrist.
Kissa brought out the pendant of her necklace from her dress and took a deep breath as she turned to look at her reflection in the nearby mirror.
Her gaze swept across the eye of Horus ankh necklace on her neck before she walked towards the door.
The door was pulled open before she got to the door and she could tell Pharaoh had ordered men to guard her quarters to prevent her from trying to escape again.
She walked out of her room into her atrium where a pool was too, with lotuses floating on the water and other flowers too, with some of them producing lights.
She loved the place when it was night already and preferred spending nights there alone.
Kissa was led out of her quarters with two guards walking before her and her two maids walking behind her.
They soon got to Pharaoh's quarters and the four of them stopped allowing her to go in by herself. Kissa walked into Pharaoh's quarters and met him in the atrium where he usually has his food privately.
"Good evening Pharaoh." She bowed and he nodded, gesturing for her to sit on the other end of the large table filled with different delicacies and fruits.
The maid nearby opened her plate of food which was filled with grains and pepper with blood sausages and beef. She picked up the wooden spoon by the plate and looked at Pharaoh who nodded before she started eating.
"So like you know Kissa…" Pharaoh finally broke the silence after a long while. "It's been a while since I stressed you and it looks like you aren't using your powers the way I told you to."
"There's no vision to see Pharaoh." She said gently as she dropped her spoon, looking up at him.
"I don't own you to tell me all that Kissa. You should see visions to help me protect my kingdom and not tell me you can't see a thing." He thundered making chills run down her spine but she didn't show her fear.
"I know Pharaoh. I can't just see a vision without a reason behind it." Kissa said and he gestured to her to come over.
Immediately she stood up, all the maids in the atrium left the place. She knelt before him with her head bowed and he grabbed her chin to make her look at him.
"It is because you have a purpose that I haven't made you my concubine since all these years Kissa. Serve your purpose till I conquer all the kingdoms and make you my concubine. You must be the one to bear the next heir of the throne. Understood?" He asked harshly.
"Yes Pharaoh." She replied pressing her tongue against the roof of her mouth to prevent tears.
"Good." He let go of her chin and held his right hand out. "Do your thing."
Kissa nodded as she grabbed his hand with both her hands and closed her eyes. The eye of Horus and eye of Ra on her eyelids shone gently making him smile softly.
"I see victory. You'll conquer all enemies except…" The light on her eyelid disappeared and she opened her eyes.
"Except? Is it the same one?" He raised his brows questioningly and she nodded.
"I can't see the foe you won't be able to conquer. But I see abundance of food and lots of blessings while you conquer the kingdoms." Kissa said to him with her head bowed and he patted her hair gently.
"I will be retiring for the night now. You can return to your quarters." Pharaoh stood up and walked towards the golden door at the other end of the atrium which was open.
Kissa sighed before grabbing the table for support as she stood up. She had forced herself to at least see something so he wouldn't torture the hell out of her.
Kissa walked out of the atrium and one of Pharaoh's concubines walked past her. "Greetings to you Lady Kissa." She bowed respectfully but Kissa knew it was all fake but she replied anyway.
Kissa walked into her quarters and immediately fell on her bed looking out at the starry sky.
"Should we help you undress lady Kissa?" The maids asked her and she nodded, standing up slowly.
After helping her undress, she changed into her nightdress and laid on the bed as they closed the curtains of the balcony.
"I really want to leave this hell as soon as possible." She sighed as she remembered the vision she had earlier. She didn't want to tell Pharaoh about it because she had a feeling that it's going to favour her and she would do anything to leave his domineering wings.
