Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

Stacey decided to heat things up by introducing the various troop types they would focus on and learn about. They focused on four troop types: INFANTRY, CAVALRY, RANGED, and SIEGE.

She began by informing everyone that they would all have duties and that no one would be less important. After that, she began detailing the various types of troops to everyone.

The first thing she explained to them was "THE INFANTRY," which is simply the soldiers on the frontlines who attack foot. Stacey didn't want the southside infantry to be completely like that of the Christians or the pagans, she wanted something that would make their enemies think twice before attacking or coming their way. Who would have believed that werewolves would ever have an assault formation? So she began with the three kinds of wolves in the infantry: trained shield maidens, true alphas, and strong omegas or betas with strong bonds with swords. The shield maidens would be the first line of troops to protect the True alphas from the silver arrows, followed by the True alphas. The Sword wolves would be the infantry's final line of defense. She also stated that Raymond would be the one to train the troops and be a great motivator and guide for them.

CAVALRY was up next. Cavalry is soldiers that fight on horseback. The Southside cavalry, on the other hand, was unlike any other cavalry since they did not utilize horses. They chose to ride their alphas. Stacey also made the rider position available to everyone so that they could have a large cavalry. Stacey wanted Southside's cavalry to be known by everyone, but she also wanted Southside to have the most feared Cavalry attack. She mentioned that the riders should not only be able to kill while riding, but they should also be very flexible with the forest trees so that they can use them as a better edge against their enemies. The rationale for this was to give the alphas more freedom, the riders were to learn to attach themselves to trees so that they could kill their enemies with arrows. This strategy was primarily intended to provide an element of surprise.

Many people were shocked and excited after she spoke briefly about the Cavalry. They had no idea Stacey could come up with such plans in such a short period of time. People were already developing feelings of love, trust, and loyalty towards their new queen for endowing them with such a long-sighted vision. She then went on to discuss RANGED fighters and the types of wolves who serve on this troop type. Stacey instructed Raymond to guarantee that the omegas who had been educated to be Ranged fighters had quick healing speed and good sight of enemy incoming arrows.

THE SIEGE was the last. Siege, as practiced in Nevadie, is merely the employment of catapults to destroy an enemy's defenses. Southside's siege engine was solely notable for having spikes and being combustible. They intended to employ it whenever they had a height advantage over their enemies due to the spikes.

She also told them about the recruitment of the 26 elite warriors, five elite warriors were to be chosen from each of the four troop types along with five shield maidens, The last elite warrior was their popular leader "Raymond"

After explaining the four troop types, the day was already gone. Stacey's last words to her people that day were "We shall gather here tomorrow for the Big show!".
