Darren went out to look for Jake and talk to him about the game plan for the next half-time. Even if they didn't win the match, they but not lose with the least score. He informed Aaron, "I'll check on Jake."
Susan watched Jake's confident smile on his face and looked around in search of the letter's sender before he left.
Darren watched a girl standing and peeking at someone hiding beside a wall. He got close to her and gazed at where she was staring to find no one.
She turned around and bumped into Darren by hitting her head on his chest hard. By taking a sudden back step, she slipped her feet and was about to fall back. Darren holds her hand, stopping her from falling back, and their eyes meet. He stared at her bright face and attractive eyes from her glasses. He fell for her, being simple yet beautiful in her way.
Darren relieved her hand and asked her with concern, "Are you fine?" She nodded in response and thanked him for his help.
Meanwhile, Evelyn saw Susan standing with a guy and rushed towards her, saying, "Susan, where have you left by leaving me alone?" stunned by her mouth open to see her bias standing in front of her. Evelyn excitedly, clinging to his hand, "I'm a fan of yours. Can you give me an autograph?"
Darren gazed awkwardly. Susan said to Evelyn, "Don't trouble him."
Suddenly, he agreed to give his autograph. Evelyn excitedly searched for the pen and paper in Susan's bag by snatching it from her and handed the notepad and pen to him.
Susan apologizes to him, "Sorry, on behalf of my sister. Evelyn wanted to see your match, and I accompanied her. I heard it was your last match. I hope your team had a stroke of good luck today. I wish you had enough memories to recall your beautiful college days."
Darren had a smile on his face, "I hope your wishes may work for us."
"Indeed." She replied.
"May I know your name?" looking at Susan.
Evelyn replied to him, "I'm Eve, Evelyn. From St. Andrew's School. This is my sister, Susan."
Darren is interested in her and wants to know more about her, but he has to return as there is a call for both teams to return to their positions to resume the game. He left, saying, "Let's meet again."
Susan and Evelyn returned to their seats, and the game resumed. This time Jake went in the flow by giving others in the team a hand to score by passing the ball. They kept their confidence, coordinated with each other, and surpassed the required score easily through their teamwork.
At last, the game ended with a victory goal by Jake. Xavier's team wins the match. The crowd in audience was screaming with joy. Susan left out by informing Evelyn, going to use the restroom.
Jake's eyes were on the audience, searching for her, 'who could be her?'
Jake left to search for her in the lounge, where he had sat before, and she sent him the letter. He reached the same bench, found a letter, and looked around to find no one around him. He opened the letter curiously and read, "Congrats! I was pleased to see your performance. I heard that you were the next team's captain. I wish you to be an idle captain who leads your team toward the win. Even if you lose, take it as an experience and learn from it. I hope you learn from your previous mistakes and try to be a better version of yourself. I want to see your every match with the same excitement and to wish you luck with my letter."
Jake had a huge smile on his face with satisfaction and joy after reading her letter, and talk to himself loudly so that if she was around him, she could hear his words, "Thank you so much. I am looking forward to your next letter. I wish I could meet you, If possible."
Susan was joyful that he wanted to hear from her and decided to continue sending him letters. This way, she would get a chance to confess her feeling to him one day.
