Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

Aaron and Jake reached home. Mr. Wilson descended the staircase and asked them to join him when the maid served them the food. Meanwhile, Wilson asked Aaron, "how is going in life?"

Aaron replied, "Everything was good, Dad."

Wilson said, "I'm asking about Katie. Aren't you troubling her?"

Jake laughed, "She is the one who troubles him?"

Aaron shook his head, "No, Dad. She is a bit cold, but she is caring and protective. Most importantly, she loves me a lot."

Wilson gave a gentle smile in acceptance of him and said, "I heard about Katies' personality. She is bold, straightforward, and never afraid of anyone to put her thoughts before anyone; she is strong-minded and protective towards her loved ones. She is perfect for you. Both of you guys complete each other." Aaron smiled.

Wilson asked Jake, "What about you, Jake? Do you have someone?"

Jake replied, "not yet, uncle."

Wilson said, "I heard you were the most popular among the famous five; you have so many fan girls. Did no one get your attention? I also heard that Jane was interested in you."

Jake said, "no… no…. she is just a friend. Nothing more is possible between us."

Aaron told him, "He is looking for a serious relationship this time. Someone who already has made him feel for her." with a smile.

Jake looked at Aaron seriously; why did he spill it out before his dad? Wilson wished him "good luck, embrace the chance to get her in your life. It is rare to find someone who truly loves you the way they are you. You should always be ready to accept the truth with confidence and hold on to the decision that you made for yourself. Don't make any silly mistakes, and never let your ego come your way, and don't lose her who was already precious in your life."

Jake thanked him for his advice and enjoyed the dinner with them.

After dinner, they all sat together in the living area; Wilson said, "I have something important to discuss."

Aaron and Jake were focused on what he was about. Wilson continued by hesitating about how Aaron will react to his decision. "I am seeing someone. We have known each other for two years. We decided to let our families get together and know more about each other before we proceed to our marriage."

Aaron stood silent, hearing him with all ears, and couldn't say anything in return. He didn't know how to react; he knew his father needed a companion to care for and love him. After his mom expired five years ago, his dad was alone. He wanted his dad to lead a happy, everyday life. He said, "I am glad to hear, dad. You finally decided for yourself. I hope she is someone who understands you better."

Wilson smiled at Aaron, "Thanks for understanding. I hope you like her and accept her daughter as your sister; she is nearly your age. I wish you guys make it work in a brother-and-sister relationship."

Aaron said, "I try my best, dad."

Wilson said, "I arrange a family dinner any weekend according to your schedule. Hope you guys will know each other."

"Fine, dad."

Wilson, "Thanks again." Aaron hugged him before leaving for his apartment along with Jake.

After reaching the apartment, Jake asked, "Are you okay?"

Aaron replied, "I am happy for my dad. I am just wondering about how her daughter might be. Does she accept me as her brother or not? I am anxious about how to converse with her, make her feel safe around me, and ensure we can make a good family together."

Jake asked him, "How can you be sure that woman can be suitable to become your mom without seeing her and agreeing with your dad in acceptance of their marriage?"

"I trust dad. He can't let anyone take my mom's position that easily. If he decided she could be possessed the qualities to become my mom. I respect his decision."

Jake "Let's hope for the best. Good night." Leave for his room.
