Raena sighed, bit her finger, and traced the seal with her blood before it started to float away from her grasp and the magic circle lit up blue as the seal burst into flames and disintegrated into ashes.
"What will I get?" Raena questioned as something protruded from the ground.
"What is it?" Kyla asked as a bright light flashed before their eyes and Raena gasped as she stared at the creature before her.
A small, wolf-like creature that had glowing orange eyes and a heart of flame ignited by its chest confronted Raena. It had a long tail that trailed an orange hue, long gray hair, black stripes, and a majestic appearance.
[Your familiar is a Nincra; they can be summoned by both celestials and demons, but it is difficult to do so since there are so few of them. Despite this, they are great for protection and can even be considered cute by some. However, they are not particularly powerful.]
"Look, it's a Nincra!"
Raena crouched down and looked the creature in the eyes, and the teacher applauded. Because the creature was beautiful, the students left staring at it while whispering.
"Well done, Raena, this is your familiar from now on, cherish it because it is a rare one and they are strong when it comes to protecting their master, you can name it later," the teacher said.
"All right," Raena replied.
Raena was about to stand up when the creature bowed its head, then Raena smiled and patted it before it disappeared, then she exited the circle since it was another student's turn and went to Kyla who was smiling brightly.
"Did I do okay?" Raena asked.
"You did more than okay, Raena, almost no one gets a Nincra, with this they are supposed to place you in a good class among the third year, I have a good feeling now," Kyla responded as Raena stared at her.
"What is it?" She asked.
"When did you first have a bad feeling, Kyla?" Kyla chuckled when she asked.
"Well, now that you are asking, I had a terrible feeling this morning, I was worried about my performance, but I summoned a good one as well, I am glad we made it through this one so we don't have to do another test, all we have to do now is just wait to see where we are appointed to," She responded.
"I hope we get into good classes," Raena said and Kyla exhaled deeply.
"I wish for the same, but I really want to be in the same classroom as you; I know we haven't known each other for long, but we're friends and that way we can get to know each other better; I know it sounds strange, but..." She replied and Nessa patted her on the shoulder then she smiled.
"I wish for the same thing; it will be nice to have someone you know in a new classroom with new people," Raena said, and Kyla nodded.
"Exactly my point," She replied to which Raena smiled.
The teacher clapped to get their attention after the other students had finished, and they all looked at her.
"Listen up, a few of you have to take another test based on your other skills, but, tomorrow when you guys come, you will receive which class you have been placed in, that won' take us long to decide since we have everything in check, don't worry, now enjoy the rest of your last day, doing nothing, because, from tomorrow onwards, life is going to get harder," She said with a smile.
Raena mumbled, "That's a creepy smile," Kyla chuckled, and they left the room and went to the cafeteria to eat lunch.
"Are you going to buy lunch?" Kyla asked after they sat down and Raena took out the lunch Drakun made for her and Kyla smiled.
"That smells delicious; did you make it?" Kyla inquired.
"No, our butler made it for me; he says he'll keep giving me lunch until we're assigned to a class," She replied and Kyla sighed.
"You are fortunate to have such a wonderful butler," She said and Raena chuckled.
"Want some? I don't mind sharing," Raena replied as Kyla stared at her.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Yes, of course I am, pretty sure I won't be able to eat all of it by myself," She responded and Kyla smiled.
"Thank you, Raena," Kyla said, and Raena smiled before splitting her food with Kyla then they began eating.
Kyla cast a glance at Raena while she was eating then sighed.
"Are you a demon, Raena?" She inquired, and the girl gave her a sidelong glance.
Raena remembered what Akaz had told her, and since she had decided to call him father, she knew she had to say she was a demon because she didn't know what she was anymore.
"Yes, you can say that," She responded and Kyla sighed.
"Good, that's good," She said.
"What if I wasn't?" Raena inquired, and Kyla looked at her before looking around.
"I won't mind, I've noticed we're all changing lately," She replied.
"Changing?" Raena inquired.
"Yes, we demons and other beings, including some with celestial bloodline, have become friends; being around each other every day for so long is changing things," She replied and Raena smiled.
"That will be good in a way, you guys have superiors, I wonder what they will think of that once they realize," She said and Kyla sighed.
"I don't even want to talk about that, it's terrifying," Kyla replied, "but one thing I have to say, you by far summoned the most adorable creature today, it's truly beautiful and a feast for the eyes," Raena smiled before sipping her juice.
"Thank you, you summoned a cool green tiger with horns," She said and Kyla chuckled.
"That's a Cina, they are nice and strong, but can be quite clumsy," She replied and Raena chuckled.
[A Cina is a demon tiger that can travel through shadow, and is extremely lazy; however, when they are angry and want to protect their master, they gain immense strength and can grow larger.]
"Your familiar is quite interesting and nice," Raena said.
"Thank you, they can be quite stubborn at times, to be honest, but yours is unique," She replied, and Raena smiled.
