Raena returned to the living room after changing, and Drakun smiled at her.
"Are you ready?" He asked.
"Yes, I am ready," She responded and he smiled.
"Shall I take her in the carriage?" Drakun asked and Akaz glanced at Raena who smiled.
"Sure, take her with it; it's about time she got to know the world; we live in one of the largest kingdoms, Yochrestra, and this is just the outskirt, a part of it," Akaz responded.
"I can't wait to see what the city is like," She said and Akaz patted her on the shoulder.
"Well, come on, I will show you a few places as well," Drakun replied.
"I must also warn you that, due to magic, some parts of this world may appear modern, advanced magic; you two be careful," Akaz said.
"Don't worry, I'll protect her no matter what," Drakun replied, and Akaz smiled.
"I hope so, go on," Akaz replied then they exited the mansion.
"I will be right back, wait here," Drakun said as he left and Raena waited for him by the entrance.
After a few minutes of waiting, Drakun returned with a gleaming carriage pulled by two black horses with white stripes.
"I use the leash to direct them, magic as well, and you may see a few demons, some with permission while others who are half-breed are among the humans, there are many rules that must be followed as well, separate organizations that monitor some of them, so they are not as free as you think, this world is indeed complicated, they have certain demons on the leash," He said and she sighed.
"So, despite walking and living among humans, they have to watch their backs, which is difficult, don't humans look down on them as they do them, humans have magic as well, but most of them are not as strong, am I correct?" She inquired as she stepped into the carriage, smiling as she noticed how luxurious it was.
Drakun then entered the carriage and sat down before closing the door and opening the window after which the carriage took off and Raena smiled as the cold wind brushed against her face.
"Yes is the answer to your question, there are a lot of strong humans with magic, but only half-breed humans, which are mixed with either celestial blood or demon blood go to the academy, normal humans with magic go to their normal magic school, everything is separated, categorized, things are different outside of the academy, the rules that apply there does not apply out here, you understand right?" He asked and she glanced at him before sighing.
"Unfortunately, I do, everyone can mix but are not completely free in this outside world, and as for the academy, I understand the situation there very well now and I know what kind of being can and cannot go there, it's pretty easy to understand in my opinion but..." He looked at her as she responded.
"But?" He asked.
He smiled as she responded, "I don't like it."
"Don't like the fact that they consider most of you guys especially certain types of half-breed misfits, they are treated differently and others have to live with a constant look over their shoulder?" When he asked, she sighed and nodded.
"I understand, but it's how things are and it's this way or they will constantly fight with each other, this is how we have to live, we have to make the most of it, I am glad you are understanding the way things work at a pretty fast rate," He said and she smiled.
"I've had good explanations, and I'll continue to learn more about this world, I want to grow as well," She replied with a smile before peeping out the window at the valleys as they passed by, and when they finally arrived at the city, the light reflected brightly in her eyes, and when the carriage came to a stop at the entrance, the guards looked at them as Raena and Drakun stepped out of the carriage smiling.
The city was opulent and teeming with various types of people.
"Your hand cannot remain like that for too long, it's time we get that herb, shall we go?" Drakun asked and she looked at him.
"Sure," She responded as he walked away and she followed him while looking around.
The buildings were well-built, and the city appeared to have a modern touch to it due to magic, even though it didn't have cars and fancy technology. Magic was used to do almost anything, even things technology couldn't.
Someone ran into Raena while she was walking.
"Sorry," When Raena turned around, she noticed a child smiling at her and smiled back.
"It's okay, go on," She replied, and the child dashed off as they approached a shop that primarily sold herbs and entered.
The shop had a nice antique look with each section categorized and shelves well packed.
"Hello, how can I help you?" A middle-aged woman asked as she approached them and they smiled.
"Lady Raena, you can take a look around, I will get what you need to heal that burnt palm, it's been like that long enough, any longer and it might not heal at all," Drakun said and he glanced at him, then sighed and began looking around the shop while he made the order of what he wanted.
Raena was looking around when she heard a lot of noises coming from outside, so she opened the door and stepped out of the shop, where she saw kids playing with each other and their parents, she smiled and lowered her head, remembering she had never had anything like that.
Raena felt someone looking at her while she was looking at the kids, and her eyes narrowed, but before she could move, someone grabbed her, covered her mouth, and her vision blurred completely before the person snatched her away.
After a while, the person threw her against a wall, where she hit her head, and her vision went back to normal after which she looked up to see a tall, muscular man wearing a hood standing before her, and her eyes widened.
