Chereads / THE CURSE: ENCOUNTER / Chapter 35 - BROKEN

Chapter 35 - BROKEN

Ceaser left Eve shortly after the short conversation as he still had to attend Genvia's wedding on Genesis. He was annoyed by the fact that Eve had rejected him because she wasn't amused by his proposal. He started considering breaking his promise to Crow about marrying Eve. Crow had requested for Ceaser to marry Eve because he knew that his master was capableof looking after his niece better than anyone else.

When Caesar was outside, Crow was standing next to the carriage with a frown on his face,

"Where are the ladies?"Crow asked.

"what ladies Caesar asked looking around.

"What do you mean what ladies don't you know your fiancée and her friend."

Caesar frowned a little because he knew that Eve was not his fiancée. Crow did not fail to notice this subtle change in his masters demeanour but he did not question on the matter. Ceaser's face fail when he saw Eve and Elizabeth walking towards them with nothing in their hands and smiles on their faces.

"Are they coming with us?" Caesar asked Crow who looked at him calmly,

"Why of course, why not? Genevia is like a mother to all in the palace."Ceaser said said no more and got into the carriage.

The rest got into the carriages as intended so that no one would know how they would actually be travelling to Genesis. After an hour when they had reached the outskirts of Dreg the lycan brothers changed into there wolf form. Cesar got on to lucan's back while Eve and Elizabeth got onto Crow. Ceaser scoffed and Lucan started off.

the rest followed suit and in no time they reached Mount Genesis. The place was already prepared for them with chairs for them. Soon, genovia walked out of the house in a white dress that looks slightly brighter than the snow on the ground. Itwas obvious that the old lady had used magic to make the dress look that way. Everyone else I was looking at genovia like they didn't know her because she was looking 60 years younger then she usually did and they were even more shocked when Claus came out as a youth.

"Trying to enjoy your wedding night to the fullest." Crow joked making everyone laugh while Eve and Elizabeth we're looking for beyond surprised; scared even.

"I will marry you." said Crow spreading out his hands in a priestley manner.

He stood like that for some time before saying, "You are now husband and wife."

Clause and Genevia who were smiling before turned to look at him with shocked expressions but they quickly recovered from this and smiled at each other. Everyone looked at each other and started clapping their hands hesitantly.

"Was that a wedding where you just blabbering?" asked Lucan.

Crow looked at Lucan with an accusing glare before looking up at the sky again with his hands still outstretched like he was drawing energy from the surroundings . When he finally put down his hands the snow started to melt to review beautiful green fields that stretched for miles and miles similar to how it had been after he had made the blue moon appear. Genevia and Clause run out to the feild like children and they started dancing. Eve watched the old couple and thought about what would happen once she was married to Caesar, once he proposed properly that is.

She subconsciously looked at him and was surprised to find him already staring at her. She looked away quickly out of awkwardness but she could still feel his gaze on her. She started talking to Elizabeth to distract herself but no matter how much she talked she still knew that he was looking at her. Elizabeth was taken away by Crow leaving Eve alone. Crow had done this so that she could talk to Caesar so when he saw this Ceaser got up and walked to where Eve was sitting. the others left them alone thinking that you was going to to we do his proposal properly but little did they know what he was actually planning to do.

"I can't marry you," he said seriously.

Eve was too shocked to even say anything so she just stared at him. Ceaser repeated his statement making Eve lose her balance that she fell. He made no effort to pick her up. He just stared down at her but she sat on the ground. If it was possible she looked paler than she had ever been before.

"Whatever do you mean?"she asked in a whisper or energy had left her. She needed to know why he had suddenly changed his mind.

"I have no feelings for you. It's true I care about you but," he paused,"spending the rest of my life with you you it's not something I'm looking forward to."

"What are you talking about." she asked breathlessly feeling the oxygen that was in her lungs leaving her quickly.Eve hoped she heard wrong.

"I do not love you and therefore I will not marry you."

"Then why did you say that before."she asked looking up at him.

"I only did it because your uncle wanted me to." "Crow?"

"Yes." her eyes became moist with tears that lingard from the rims of her eyelids when she blinked the her tearsfell down.

She stared at Caesar in this belief of what she was hearing. He had made her believe that but now he was saying he didn't want to marry her, taking away all the happiness that he had given in an instant. Her chest hurt from pain and stress she was feeling in the heart and she placed her hand there as if she was easing the pain but in reality nothing changed. Caeser did not say anything and just continue to watch her as her tears rolled down her cheeks in streams. Eve finally recollected herself and got up from the ground. She looked into Caesars eyes one last time before running away from him.

She ran into to Elizabeth who was not with crow anymore and she broke down.

"What's wrong with you?"Elizabeth asked with concern as she looked at her friend.

"He won't...."she stopped before she could finish her statement.

"He won't what. What are you talking about.Finish the statement he won't what..."

"Marry me."finished Eve as she buried her head in Elizabeth's lap then. She continued to cry while Elizabeth was in a state of shock.

"What do you mean? Are you talking about the prince?" Elizabeth asked to make sure that she wasn't hearing things.

"Yes the prince. He said he doesn't want to marry me."Eve explained sobbing.

"But he proposed,didn't he?"

"He did I don't understand either. Let's leave Elizabeth."suggested Eve feeling angry because Caeser her dead to break her heart when she had trusted him and loved him.

"leave and go where. Do you know this place, Eve?" asked her friend.

"Yes, I do Elizabeth."answered Evequickly

"let's go, he isn't worth it so stop crying. There are still a lot of bachelors out there waiting to be your acquaintance and here he is tossing you aside like he is someone mighty." Elizabeth said in anger as she helped her friend stand."Will leave then we'll see what he will do about it when we p

return to death, I want you you to accept the first marriage proposal you receive so that you can show him how happy you can be without him."

"But I don't want to get married to anyone except..." before she could finish her statement Elizabeth slapped her across the face.

"What were you about to say, except him. He has rejected you .Let's go."

Eve cribed even more not because the slap hurt that because what her friend was saying was true. He didn't love her and it was only her imagination. She was foolish to have thought that he would want to marry her after what had happened in his childhood.

Elizabeth dragged her along with her deeper into the forest and when they were far enough from Clause's cabin she parted the trees to make a clear path for them to follow. It was made some Vines that moved along the surface of the ground at a fast pace so that they could get to Death quickly.

Back at the cabin Crow looked for Elizabeth where he had left her but he found her nowhere. He then figured that maybe by she was with Eve, he knew women loved to celebrate together during such times he smiled to himself as he imagined Eve excitedly telling Elizabeth that she was engaged. He found Caesar sitting by the lake and sat down next to him still smiling,

"I see the girls have run off together." Caesar did not respond because he realised that Crow didn't know what he had done,

"She must have been happy," Crow continued to say,

"I don't think so," Caesar finally said making the smile that was on Crow's cross face fall immediately.

"What do you mean sire?"Crow asked.

"I don't think any woman would be happy to know that she won't be getting married."

Crow's pupils dilated and then constricted after hearing Caesars words. He got up from where he was sitting and looked down at his master with a deadly stare,

"What did you do to her?"Crow asked infuriated.
