Is the leader of the pack fighter Sage's mate? Everyone in the Lock Hearts presents inside the hall began to question each other. Murmurs filled the air as they watched Aurora walk towards the altar where Alpha Cowell and the new King stood. They began to marvel at their leader's outfit. She was also put on the black and gold robe but hers looked more feminine than the Sage style. Her hair was well packed and plaited into a ponytail. Her makeup brought out her nose perfectly making her look more or less an angel.
Her gaze was down, avoiding stares coming from the shifters. She tried to focus on why she was there and cursed Alpha Cowell and Sage for making her what she never dreamt of, Luna. She never for once imagined being a Luna of a pack since she wasn't born royal but then, she was walking up to the throne to be crowned the Luna. How ridiculous it felt to her.
She finally got to the altar even with a slow stride. She looked up at Alpha Cowell and shifted her gaze to Sage who was busy admiring her right from when she stepped her foot into the hall.
Alpha Cowell nudged him to take her hands and he nodded. He moved to where she was with his left hand behind his back. When he got to her, he stretched out his right hand out to receive hers. Sage noticed her nervous countenance and he winked at her indicating she shouldn't be worried that he was next to her.
Aurora finally placed her hand on his and he pulled her closer as they both turned to move to the throne. When they got to the throne, he nudged her to sit on it as everyone continued to watch in awe.
A golden crown placed neatly on a red pad was brought forward to Sage and he carefully picked up the crown from the pad. Aurora was gazing largely at him. "Today, I, Sage Acwulf, make Aurora Horatio my mate and my luna from this day onward," he proclaimed and a loud cheer filled the entire hall as he placed the crown on her head.
He took her hands again and made her stand up to her feet. Staring at each other romantically, they turned to the crowd and bowed their heads in appreciation.
Alpha Cowell moved closer to them, gave them a family hug and whispered, "Take care of the pack," he conveyed and they both nodded in agreement.
After the hug, Alpha Cowell shifted a little bit away from them and went on his knees, "Hail your new King and his Luna," he declared and everyone except for the visitor's Alpha did as instructed, going down to their knees as they bowed in respect.
Aurora's eyes welled up in tears since she couldn't believe her pack were bowing down to her as Luna. She looked up at Sage who was also having an anxious expression on his face. She clenched onto him, hugging him tightly as her tears began to pour out. Sage also wrapped his hands around her to console her.
"You may rise," he told the crowd and everyone stood up as chattering filled the hall. Shifters continued to hail in excitement at their new Alpha and his Luna. They were so grateful to have a wonderful and powerful mate as their Alpha.
After the salutation, the party began and everyone started to celebrate.
Alpha Cowell beckoned on Sage and Aurora to follow after him as he began to introduce them to the present King. They all congratulated him, telling him he was welcome to reach out to them when he gets difficulties with handling pack duties and other stuff that he might find difficult.
He thanked them for their kindness and joined them in parties. Soon after, Aurora was called away from the King by her acquaintances. She took an excuse from the royal table and went out to meet them.
As she strode out of the hall, shifters hailed at her and she found it annoying. She wondered if it was the same way they would keep addressing her after the coronation.
As she stepped her feet out of the hall, she sniffled the air and Fennick scent hit her. Ignoring the rant of her acquaintance, she scanned through the pack building and she found him some meters away from her, leaning on the building wall.
As her legs could carry her, she grabbed a hold of her robe to avoid tripping and ran her way down to where her best friend stood. "I know you're angry with me," she bellowed as soon as she got to him but Fennick didn't say a word, he just continued to stare at her with strange expressions written all over his face which baffled her the most. "I'm sorry," she pleaded guilty and placed her hands on his folded arms. He still didn't comment and Aurora decided to relay to him what had happened.
"Sage asked me to be his mate and I agreed. Just then, Alpha Cowell said he wants to step down from the throne and since he has no relatives of any generation to pass the throne to, the Beta was asked to take over but Beta Craig refused it and since Sage was his son, it was passed down to him." She paused to swallow the saliva stuck in her throat and continued when Fennick said not a word. "I became Sage's mate which means I will become his Luna," she said the last word in a whisper.
"He hasn't marked you, why?" Fennick asked.
Aurora knew the question would be coming sooner not even from her best friend only but from the entire pack. Why hadn't Sage claimed her?
She also had no answer to give to Fennick but she had to cover up to avoid any further questions. "I thought you said he shouldn't mark me," she conveyed, looking up at him.
"That was before you became his Luna, Rora, he should mark you before he makes you his," Fennick uttered and Aurora could see his blazing eyes of fury.
"You aren't angry because of that, are you?"
"You think so? I was the last person to hear the news!" He snapped.
"Same goes for me, you never told me where you're going. Only for you to leave the pack and tell me unreasonable things!" She growled at him, earning stairs at them. Since everyone knew their friendship, they ignored them and continued their celebration. "I need to attend to something, bye," she told him and turned to leave but he gripped her back.
"Make him mark you to prove his love or you leave him!"
