Chereads / My Nerd Mate: I Won't Let Her Go / Chapter 7 - Who Are You?

Chapter 7 - Who Are You?

Pack members began to troop into the pack Academy. The Academy, located in the middle of the woods, was the biggest building compared to the packed building where the Alpha stays. It was built for the activities being held. It was a place where wolves are trained, especially the pups. They were taught in the academy in groups how to control their wolf and how to do the combat fight when they can't shift, maybe due to how weak their wolves are.

The teaching was always section by section. Adults and pups have different stages they learn from before prompting to the next stage. Then, after the teaching, everyone would gather and talk about what they'd been taught. Most times, training takes place in the night for those who need to go for a run or the night watch.

The Alpha King Cowell had built the Academy making the pack a very special one different from other packs and members of the pack had fallen in love with his intelligence.

Occasionally, he visits the Academy, during a full moon or when he feels he needs to go for a run and pack members were always excited to see him join them because there was no way they weren't going to learn something.

That night, the Alpha didn't visit as expected, the same goes for his subordinates except for, of course, the head of the pack fighter which is Aurora, a few Gammas and leaders of different regions in the pack.

Before the sun settled down for the moon, Aurora had gotten to the Academy to help do some arrangements. It was past seven when shifters began to appear in the Academy each showing respect to the leaders around.

Aurora sighted her best friend trooping in with his friends and the thought of what he had done some hours ago crowded her mind. She remembered she was still angry with him.

She had a lovely birthday with friends in his house and while they were partying, he took a piece of cake and smashed it on her face, her lovely dolled face which she has spent time making. Even when he had to do such a thing, it shouldn't have been when she had her makeup and dress on.

Nevertheless, she hadn't taken pics with her glamorous outfit and that had anguished her the most. She hoped he didn't come to her unless she was going to pounce on him, but he did. He walked towards her and she clenched her hands into a fist holding back her rage. She watched as he strode to her with a devious smirk on his face. She wished she could whack his face till his smile disappeared.

"I hope you're calm now?" Fennick asked and tried to take her hands but she was quick to move backwards.

She didn't utter a word as she kept inspecting those who were arranging publications on the shelf for the pups who have to know the importance of their wolf and not just shifting.

"I was merely trying to make a good scene for your birthday, I never knew you would take it up." He conveyed, striding alongside her. After all, he was her assistant even if he was her senior, he also had to show her some respect and that was what he did.

Seeing that she didn't give him any chances to apologise to her, he stopped following her footsteps and returned to his pals. He'll come back to her and tease her like he always does until she calms down.

The training finished at exactly nine thirty when the bell was rung for a closure. Everyone made their way to the podium for emendation from their leaders. The Gamma, chiefs, high courts and associates were present. One of the chiefs revised with them that night and when they were done, Aurora climbed up the podium. She also did some talks, lecturing them on secrets she found out before announcing that she was going for a run and anyone who wishes to join was welcome.

Formally, wolves shifted as they all growled, organizing themselves in groups as they waited for Aurora's wolf who had gone to shift.

Her delicate grey wolf with hazel eyes groaned as she scooted towards the settling shifters who returned their groan. She got to the front position where five top leaders stood after her. She then roared and howls followed after.

With a three-gash of her paws on the soil, they took off trotting their way deeper into the woods. Their vociferation filled the entire forest till humans outside the woods could listen to their howls.

As usual, Aurora's wolf leads ahead of them and she scampers deep into the woods. It was what she loved doing the most. Runs. If Aurora didn't get to run in a day, just know she was ill. She was the craziest wolf in the Lock Hearts pack and shifters admired her ability. She never for once complained about how stressful her work was unlike others that were always asking for permission each time from the Alpha.

Aurora's wolf suddenly stopped in her tracks when she had a feeling that someone was following her. She was amused because she knew she had lost track of other wolves but she could sense a wolf was pursuing her.

Standing in between the woods, she began sniffing the air as her normal way of spotting wolves. The aura grew stronger and stronger as she tried tracking if it was a rogue or a pack member. But how was the wolf almost at the same speed as hers?

The waves of the wolf filled the niches she stood at and she marvelled at how a wolf could have a strong aura she had never smelled before.

Just about time, a big dark brown wolf scampered in front of her, hovering over her. At first, she trembled from his growl but when she sniffed that he was a pack member, her fears disappeared.

Jabbing into his thoughts, she mind-linked him. "Who are you?"

The wolf stood rooted to his stance, astonished by how Aurora was able to get through his blocked mind.

"Who are you?!" She growled again, gnashing her teeth out of jealousy. How could he be so strong as a pack member and her wolf was sprawling to bow down to him? How could he have a savoury aura that could send shivers into one's body?

The dark wolf regained his senses, excited that she was just as strong and skilful as he had wished. He growled at her and she returned it with a sneer.

He began to throb his paws towards her while she growled, not ready to accept defeat.

"I'm Sage, nice to meet you." He greeted through the mind-linking.
