"Flaming Arrow!", He screamed as he used his skill, due to which the flames that accumulated on his palm took the shape of a bow and an arrow.
The bow was in his left hand and the arrow connected to the bow, with a string made of flames as if being stretched.
The man then fired the arrow that was made of flames.
'Is this how I am going to die?', Rei thought as he looked at the flaming arrow that was speeding in his direction.
'No! I just got my life back!', But it was too late as the arrow struck his body and right after that flames engulfed him and his vision.
"Poor goblin. Probably wanted to live a little longer. Not that I care after all I have to level up and grow stronger.", The old man said as his creepy smile increased but in the next moment, a confused looked appeared on his face.
"Why am I not getting any message about Exp or about killing a monster?" He asked as he opened his status widow and then checked his level. His brows furrowed as his level didn't increase and the exp bar was still the same. It still needed some exp to be filled.
"What the hell is going on?!" He exclaimed in a confused manner and then looked at the place where he had fired the arrow.
Rei wasn't able to escape the cave completely and hence when the arrow was shot, it ended up spreading in the cave. That part of the cave was engulfed in flames, but once he put his full focus over there he was able to catch slight movements.
He quickly once again used his skill. Flames accumulated in his palm which soon took the shape of an arrow. He then pulled the string and then launched the arrow.
The flaming arrow once again clashed with that particular part of the cave and this time he heard screams.
"ARGHHH!", Rei screamed in agony causing the old man's brows to furrow.
While on the other hand, Lucas watched everything with confusion. He knew that by dying here Rei wouldn't die in real life. There was a possibility that might happen but Lucas thought that it was almost impossible, and the other thing was that Rei still had three more lives which meant that he could die two more times in the game.
So, it wouldn't be too impactful, his death that is.
But the main reason Lucas was shocked was that Rei didn't die. There wasn't even a single scratch on his body even though he was engulfed in flames.
"Ahhhhhhhh!", Rei felt his whole body being burnt. The pain was too much to bear. His eyes went bloodshot as he tried to control the pain but it just increased with each passing second.
"What the hell!" The old man said as he was still able to hear the screams.
He waited for the flames to fade away and once they did he was able to see everything clearly. Rei didn't have a single scratch on his body. Looking at the old man was left utterly surprised.
"How the hell is this possible?", he asked himself only to answer – "A bug?"
He screamed as he once again conjured the bow and arrow from flames and then shot them multiple times toward Rei but the only thing that happened was Rei screaming.
However, after seeing that nothing else was happening, Rei too stopped screaming. Although he felt pain, he didn't die…
Even his HP remained the same.
"Wait a minute! Don't tell me he is one of the legendary creatures!", the old man murmured o himself.
Once the game had started, its manual mentioned some legendary creatures. They were high-level creatures who could change their form.
"No that can't be possible!"
"But… is there any other explanation to this…?", he asked himself as he shot another arrow, almost exhausting his MP.
"I need to record this…", He said as he pressed the record button. His status window started to record everything.
He once again used his skill to conjure a bow and an arrow and then launched it toward Rei. Once again flames engulfed him. The old man then waited for a minute for the flames to fade and once they did he was able to see Rei's body, just like the previous time, there wasn't a single scratch present on his body.
Rei was completely fed up with what was happening.
At that time his eyes paused at his status screen which showed.

'What is players protection?', He asked and listening to him Lucas suddenly understood what was happening.
-"Oh! Now I understand why you aren't dying... You see, once a new player enters the game they have players protection, which means that they won't die, or their HP won't decrease no matter what."- Lucas started to explain to Rei about the player's protection and once he was done with the explanation a creepy smile appeared on Rei's face.
"Now I understand!" He said and then looked at the old man.
"Kukkuku I guess it's time to die!" Rei said out loud enough for the old man to hear.
"He- He can speak the human language?!" the old man asked as he fumbled.
Rei took out his pair of daggers from his inventory and then started to rub them both with each other causing sparks to form.
"Hahahahha." Rei laughed simultaneously licking his lips. He looked like a cruel monster.
'Is… is he going to attack?', the man asked himself only to then look at his MP which was almost exhausted.
'No! If I die now I will lose my levels and my precious items!', The old man exclaimed inwardly.
'I can't let this happen…'
His old wrinkled face suddenly turned handsome and his skinny-looking legs suddenly bulged. He was a hunchback before but he now suddenly stood straight.
-"Tch! I hate the progression tricksters!"- Lucas said.
The old man who was actually a trickster, ran towards the exit of the cave.
"Hey! You bastard stop!" Rei screamed as he ran behind the trickster but he wasn't able to reach him.
